Fanduel and Draftkings Daily Fantasy Football Week 2 Brag and Bitch

The Brag and Bitch is all about looking back on the previous weeks slate while it’s fresh on the mind and analyzing what went right and what went wrong. What an incredible week two it was. There were so many twists and turns it’s hard to know where to begin. Jamal Charles and A.J. Green both go down with injuries. Palmer and Doug Martin were last second scratches. Fanduel goes down with a server error 1 hour before game time. Most importantly yours truly was in contention for big money wins on both Draftkings and Fanduel on Monday night.

**FREEROLL ALERT – We have another exclusive DRAFTKINGS FREEROLL available this week. Last week one of the readers here took 1st place and a $200 top prize in this one!

The way things went this week is a reminder of why some of the philosophies I preach here and in the books we send out are so important. If you were a one lineup player and had A.J. Green in that plus match up across all your lineups you would have been crushed. No one is good enough to predict fantasy football player outcomes all of the time. It is the combination of good strategy and strict adherence to the Bankroll Management and Lineup Variance techniques I preach in the Fanduel Winning Strategies series and well as in the books we send out that smooths out the crazy twists and turns that happen over the course of a season.
**Editors Note – We are bumping up our eBook Promotion this week! In addition to the DFS Pro Strategies book we already send out which focuses on advanced themes for lineup construction, contrarian theories, Psychology of winning, etc. I’m adding in link to download a second book which is like an expanded version of our Fanduel Winning Strategies series. The second book focuses more on bankroll management theory and different lineup construction techniques for the different types of contests. It is over 150 pages of lineup construction theories backed up by research and charts. There is a whole chapter on why HtH is better to play long term then 50/50 with statistics and charts to back it up.

Whether its the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat, its the excitement of competition that makes daily fantasy football the most exciting and heart pumping action around. These are the same sort or emotional highs and lows that drive my love of sports in general and in particular my feel for my beloved NY Jets. With the Jets it has been much more agony of defeat then thrill of victory as evidenced by the phantom time out that negated Geno Smith’s incredible 4th down TD bomb to Kerley late in that game but I digress.
If you followed my week two player picks you should have had a very successful week. The ALL IN calls on Rodgers, Jordy and Cobb worked like a charm. At RB our all in call of Ahmed Bradshaw also delivered great results. The big miss was the ALL IN on Tampa Defense. I still think it was a smart call considering the Rams were trotting out an unknown third stringer at QB but what can you do.
CASHES OF THE WEEK
DRAFTKINGS:
Going in to Sunday night I was sitting in 30th place in the Thursday 75K Challenge. I had Gore and Wayne still yet to play and was about 50 points below the winning score of 219. I debated switching Gore and Wayne to Bradshaw and Maclin. I did not make the change and that was a shame. In the end I wound up with a respectable 19th place finish and a $300 cash. Switching the players out would have yielded a 2nd place finish and $5000 cash. I’m not really sure what lesson to glean from this one as the sting is still a bit fresh. Regardless I wound up with excellent results in Draftkings and up 60% on the weeks investment. A great week!
FANDUEL

So this was my top Fanduel lineup of the week. All the players were from the week 2 player recommendations column. I went with the ALL IN’s of Bradshaw, Rodgers, Cobb, Nelson and Tampa. This was a Thursday lineup and therefore required a slightly lower total score to cash. In this $10 8000+ person tournament I wound up in 10th place due to the huge day from Bradshaw. That was good for a $500 cash. For the week I was up over 100% on my Fanduel investment.
Part of the fun of the brag and bitch column is hearing how you did this week. Drop a note in the comments section letting us know how your week went. Did you follow the ALL IN’s this week? Did you get burned by the Fanduel outage before game time? This is the chance to vent and move on before next week’s slate of games. I’ll be back tomorrow evening with this weeks picks column.
