Defenses to Stream – Week 16 Fantasy Football

DFS Army’s Gthom goes over the defenses to stream this week. The defenses to stream listed below are normally found in at least 50-percent of leagues (prior to waivers).

Commanders D/ST @ New York Jets

Available in 90% of Sleeper Leagues

They are facing the worst team against fantasy D/ST’s over the last five weeks. The Jets have allowed 17.6-FPPG to the position and 9.1 fantasy points above expectation. New York continues to turn the ball over at a high-rate, and they have the second most turnovers in the 2023 season. Additionally, they have allowed the second most sacks with 61. Sacks and turnovers create a solid fantasy floor for your team.

Packers D/ST @ Carolina Panthers

Available in 61% of Sleeper Leagues

Panthers have been bad against opposing D/ST’s, to the tune of 13.2-FPPG allowed to the position, 29th in the league over the last five games. When adjusting for their schedule over the last five, they still allow 5.2 fantasy points above expectation. With 54 sacks allowed in 2023, the Panthers have a tough time protecting the quarterback, setting up a solid day for the Packers’ D/ST.

Buccaneers D/ST vs Jacksonville Jaguars

Available in 68% of Sleeper Leagues

With Trevor Lawrence in concussion protocol, this looks like a potential layup opportunity to stream the Bucs. Backup quarterback C.J. Beathard looked like hot garbage when he played the remainder of Jacksonville’s game against the Bengals in Wek 13. If Lawrence plays, this play will fall off. The Jags allow 5.2-FPPG to the D/ST position and that is the 9th best over the last five games.

Texans D/ST vs Cleveland Browns

Available in 64% of Sleeper Leagues

The Browns have allowed 10.6-FPPG to opposing D/ST’s and 3.7 fantasy points above expectation over their last five contests. Both metrics are good for 27th in the league. Cleveland leads the league in turnovers with 30, and just last week Joe Flacco threw three interceptions. The Browns also have trouble protecting the quarterback and have allowed 40 sacks this season which is tied for the eighth most in the NFL. The Texans D/ST should get turnovers and sacks in this contest.
