NBA Data Dive for FanDuel and DraftKings on Saturday, December 9th

Before we get started we need to give huge congratulations to DFS Army Member “kanger”, for taking fourth in the DraftKings Milly Maker. This is our fourth member in the last 40-days to win over $50,000! We have had a $53,000 winner in NBA, a $150,000 winner in NFL, a $100,000 win in NBA, and this $50,000 win in Week 12 of the NFL season. The DFS Army helmets are up and down the standings across all DFS platforms and our membership is closing in on 2,000 because of it. We have enormous momentum, no doubt about it.

Daily articles for every DFS sport, daily podcasts, 45,000 WEEKLY messages on Slack, and the best optimizer in the industry that has two years of research and development behind it. If you are playing DFS alone you’re doing it wrong. If not us, which I hope you choose to join, I implore you to find a community somewhere. I can promise you for the price and staff and member support (2,000’sh members and 19 staff) you won’t find a better foundation to build your bankroll upon. Click HERE if you are interested.

NBA DFS is a different kind of beast. Studs can outright win you a GPP with a massive performance and value plays can be brought to light just minutes before contest lock time due to late scratches or breaking news. It isn’t for the faint of heart and the most dedicated researchers and news followers will have a significant edge over the field. This column will be loaded with valuable research, metrics, and analysis on how to use this information in your contests.

On this massive slate filled with incredible options at every position, we are going to have to plant our flag somewhere or else we will end up with 100 different lineups and try to cover every possible combination possible. While MME is an option for many of our members, this article will be directed towards those that are going to make only a handful of lineups and run a few locked players through our optimizer (Domination Station) which keeps churning out ENORMOUS winners.

Before we get started I just wanted to post this here just in case any of OUR members missed it on our VIP Slack this morning. We’ve had four qualifier seats won on DK, four wins between $50,000 and $150,o00 and dozens of 5-digit winning lineups by members over the past 45-days. I sent this little message out in Slack this morning because recently, our members keep praising the staff in Slack for all our extra one-on-one work and discussions. This goes out to all of you, the best members in the universe:

Guards

Kemba Walker has a 26.5% usage rate and is averaging 1.08 FP/Min and 35 minutes per game. I am slightly concerned that he played 42-minutes in Friday’s game against the Bulls and this will be his third game in four nights and on the second leg of a back to back at home. This makes him GPP worthy but not cash viable. With the pace up environment and 109.0 implied total, Kemba is a solid large field contest option.

Ben Simmons will be without Joel Embiid on Saturday as the Sixers travel to Cleveland. Simmons receives a 4.6% usage boost with Embiid off the court. He’s a phenomenal cash game lock and a great “ladder system” option for Saturday.

The ladder system is the strategy we use to use certain players in certain contests with a specific format of bankroll investing. It’s a hot topic within our members only Slack chat every day and a huge reason why we have such a high member retention rate.

Dennis Schroder has a 29.2% usage rate and is averaging 1.06 FP/Min and 32.4 Min/Game. He has a pace-up matchup with the Magic who are playing their third game in four nights and are shorthanded because of injuries. Schroder should feast and is an excellent cash and GPP option.

Kris Dunn and the Bulls are playing their third in four nights and are on the second leg of a back to back after playing extended minutes against the Hornets on Friday night. This means Dunn is a GPP option only but a fantastic one. The fear of tired legs can be overblown for younger players which means Dunn could have lower ownership than he should have on DraftKings, where his $5,900 price tag leaves a lot of wiggle room for a scoring ceiling.

Tyreke Evans is a great cash game option as his usage rate sits at a healthy 25.7% as the de facto point guard option for the Grizzlies. He’s priced at value on both FanDuel and DraftKings which means he’s not a great GPP option.

Chris Paul is still underpriced on DraftKings and represents immense value for both cash games and GPP on Saturday. The game with Portland should be incredibly competitive which means Paul will be leaned on heavily for a full complement of minutes. He’s going to be very close to a plug and play in our Domination Station optimizer on DraftKings.

Russell Westbrook is in a tremendous spot tonight if PG13 or any Melo rest. His price has dropped on both FanDuel and DraftKings and his 33.4% usage rate and 1.40 FP/Min get considerable 8% usage rate and .20 FP/Min boosts if either of them is off the court. He’s the premier cash and GPP option of the night if one of them were to miss the game.

Austin Rivers continues to hit value and play heavy minutes. The Clippers will continue to bombard him with as much playing time as he can handle and at $6,500 and $6,300 on DraftKings and FanDuel, I prefer him for FD in cash games. He’s averaged 33.7 FP/Game over his last four outings.

Donovan Mitchell is soaking up heavy playing time and has scored 39.9 FP/Game over his last four games. His .99 FP/Min has been steadily increasing over the past month and his usage rate now sits at 25.5%. The game against the Bucks could be a lower scoring game but the fantasy points likely will be centered around a few key pieces on both sides.

J.J. Redick could have himself quite a day as Embiid is out, T.J. McConnell is out, and Dario Saric is questionable after missing last game with an eye injury. Redick, Simmons, and another two players I will mention in slack are in pristine positions to exceed value against the Cavaliers. His usage rate has been over 23.01% in five out of the last seven games, a massive 7.0% spike compared to his season-long average.

If Embiid, McConnell, and Saric are all going to be out there is a good chance that he will be leaned on heavily to produce offense and likely play a significant amount of minutes while being matched up with J.R. Smith’s “defense”. In this scenario, I believe Redick is a solid GPP option but very close to being a cash game lock, specifically on FanDuel at $5,400.

C.J. McCollum was priced near $8,000, give or take a few hundred dollars for most of the 2016-2017 season. His price has been in the upper-6k price range for the last two weeks and hasn’t changed much at all. He always feels like he’s going to be an enormous steal at that price but he isn’t turning in huge performances this season.

At this price I actually think he is the perfect “ladder system” shooting guard, offering both a strong floor and a massive ceiling. The fact that we haven’t seen it in awhile makes him all the more appealing to me.

Justin Holiday continues to play heavy minutes, including seven straight games over 30-minutes and six of them being over 34-minutes. Even though he played 38-minutes on Friday against the Hornets, the Bulls are still shorthanded and don’t really have anybody outside of Dunn and Grant who can create their own shots.

Holiday will continue to be the ideal mid-5k price tag cash game option, settling in right around where Redick is in my rankings. Holiday will be slightly higher for GPP’s when setting my MME percentages in the Domination Station.

Kent Bazemore has let us down for the better part of two weeks. He’s been in numerous spots where we expected a blow up to happen but just isn’t cutting it. Against the Magic who are shorthanded and playing their fifth game in seven days, I am going back to the well with Bazemore.

We recently had a $53,333 NBA win by a DFS Member on FanDuel for NBA. If you’d like to read about this AMAZING win and a few other five and six-figure wins, go ahead and click this link and enjoy!

Forwards

Sorry, 2,000 words on guards alone were for the public. I will be releasing nearly the same amount of words for our members in Slack. On top of that, our members will receive the same amount of analysis and updates from our other three full-time NBA researchers and writers.

We broke down the $150,000 NFL win earlier this season. You can read about that gem in this link!

Centers

I am going to break down the centers for our members only in some “pre-game” notes, similar to what the other main coaches do in Slack for our members. I also will differentiate who I think are my top cash game and GPP options between the above players and update my thoughts and opinions – just like our other four NBA coaches and writers do in our pre-game “Slack Notes”. The daily podcast should drop soon and we have a few more articles for tonight’s slate coming out. No rest for the weary, let’s grab our fifth $50,000 + winning night and continue to turn the industry upside down on its head!

I have already said too much and that type of analysis and strategy will be kept to our Slack channel (45,000 WEEKLY messages between the 1,500 members and 19 staff that we have logged into Slack).

I am so excited to be providing content for the NBA season and I will see you all in Slack chat #dailydonuts #nfl-talk and #nba-talk. You can find me on Twitter @DFSnDONUTS where I post my daily articles and love to interact with my followers.
