QUARTERBACKS

Tom Brady, Jimmy Garoppolo (New England Patriots @ HOU)
It doesn’t matter how long the GOAT will be on the field, he’ll throw five touchdowns on the first drive. He is Tawwwm…Freaaakin…Brady. If that whole plan goes to shit, Jimmy G is always a great backup plan for the preseason, even though he’ll be chalky, especially after going 22-28 with 235 passing yards and 2 TDs last week.

Alex Smith (Kansas City Chiefs @ CIN)
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has already said that Smith will play the entire first half. Cha-ching!

RUNNING BACKS

Zeke Elliott & Friends (Dallas Cowboys vs IND)
It’s not so much Elliott that I like as much as I do Cowboys running backs in general. I do envision him getting an early TD against this porous Indy run D, but Alfred Morris and Darren McFadden can do the job as well. Somebody wearing a Cowboys jersey is running a football into the end zone against Indy tonight.

Rex Burkhead (New England Patriots @ HOU)
He burned me last week, but I’m going back to the well. It’s so Belichick that Burkhead didn’t get any touches in the preseason opener. Redeem yourself, Bill…redeem yourself.

De’Angelo Henderson (Denver Broncos @ SF)
With a couple aching bodies in the Broncos backfield, look for Henderson to get another crack at playing time. He did cap off last week’s game with a 41-yard TD run and that certainly raised the eyebrows of everyone on the coaching staff; aside from that TD, though, Henderson only had 13 yards on six carries.

Jamal Williams, Aaron Jones (Green Bay Packers @ WSH)
Usually, the Packers and running backs go together like lamb and tuna fish, but this is all about playing time since Ty Montgomery will not be in the lineup. Both guys are trying to unseat him as the #1 RB and should get enough chances to do so in this game.

Aaron Green (Los Angeles Rams @ OAK)
The former TCU standout can make a name for himself tonight with Lance Dunbar on the shelf. Green is a solid pass catcher out of the backfield and that makes him an intriguing GPP candidate on DraftKings with the full-point PPR.

WIDE RECEIVERS

AJ Green (Cincinnati Bengals vs KC)
The Chiefs were a little below league average last season against the pass and Green is a guy that can have a huge day in limited time. We have seen a few big-time WRs have some nice production already in preseason games and he is my pick to do so tonight. If this works out, don’t call me a genius…but more importantly, if it falls flat, I don’t wanna hear it.

Kenny Golladay (Detroit Lions vs NYJ)
He’ll likely be 400% owned by the industry, but Golladay is turning heads around Lions camp and should get every chance to do make some big plays in this game.

Cody Latimer (Denver Broncos @ SF)
A former NCAAF DFS all-star finds his way on to the list, and last week’s performance is a good example of what the Broncos have been waiting on for a while now. Latimer had seven catches on seven targets for 54 yards in the preseason opener.

Cody Hollister, Austin Carr, KJ Maye (New England Patriots @ HOU)
The Pats big weapons will be on the field, but we shouldn’t expect them to be there for long. The guys mentioned above can make some of their own memories at the same place the Pats won the Super Bowl last season. Last week, the three of them combined for 18 catches on 23 targets.

Jaydon Mickens (Oakland Raiders vs LAR)
After totaling 55 yards on four touches (three receptions, one rush) last week, I could see the Raiders getting Mickens more involved this time around.

TIGHT ENDS

Clive Walford (Oakland Raiders vs LAR)
Big fan of this guy from the ole NCAAF DFS days when he was at THE U! The Raiders have Jared Cook on the roster now, so expect them to rest him and let Walford get more NFL reps under his belt. Walford did have three catches on three targets for 44 yards in the preseason opener.

Brandon Williams, Darrell Daniels (Indianapolis Colts @ DAL)
Let me preface this (horribly) by saying that I have never heard of either guy. However, there will be plenty of snaps up for grabs between these two with Jack Doyle most likely limited and Erik Swoope set to miss several weeks. It’s no secret that terrible QBs like to lean on TEs and we should see plenty of that tonight.

Tyler Higbee (Los Angeles Rams @ OAK)
He’s slated to be the starting tight end when the season starts, but Higbee hasn’t made too many lasting impressions thus far. In the preseason opener, Higbee was on the field the whole time that QB Jared Goff was and the starters are supposed to see a decent amount of time tonight.

DEFENSES

Chiefs
I hope everyone remembers how fun this defense/special teams unit are for fantasy purposes. I know it’s preseason, but I love a good line movement as much as the next guy- the Chiefs line in this game moved a full three points since the open.

Cardinals
Sure, Mitch Trubisky balled outrageous in the preseason opener but let’s see if he can do it again…and Mike Glennon isn’t someone to be scared of either. Especially for GPPs, the Cardinals defense isn’t a bad way to go since their special teams unit is also one of the better ones in the NFL.

Cowboys
The Colts offense is already a mess, but without Andrew Luck, it’s whatever the opposite of sunshine and rainbows are.
