Main MLB Slate Player Projections and Stacks:

Toronto Blue Jays (-141) @ Baltimore Orioles (+120)

Implied Run Totals:

Blue Jays – 5.2 IRT

Orioles – 4.5 IRT

Rundown:

We’ll open up the day with Yusei Kikuchi heading into Baltimore to face off with this Orioles lineup. Kikuchi has been volatile this season but does have a 25.5% strikeout rate on the season and this Baltimore ballpark has turned into a pitcher’s park this season. I think we can do worse as an SP2, but probably not a guy I want to play on FanDuel or other one-pitcher sites. Baltimore will send Jordan Lyles to the mound in a really tough matchup with this young Jays lineup. Normally Lyles struggles with giving up home runs, but his HR/9 has fallen all the way down to 1.16 this season… again, the ballpark may have something to do with it, but either way, I don’t want to use him against this Jays lineup.

TOR 5-star plays: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette

4-star plays: Alejandro Kirk, Teoscar Hernandez, Matt Chapman, Whit Merrifield

GPP Note: This is a nice spot for the Jays on a shorter slate.

BAL 5-star plays: ADley Rutschman

4-star plays: Cedric Mullins, Anthony Santander, Jorge Mateo

GPP Note: The Orioles would be more of a mini-stack for me if I were to get to them.

Cincinnati Reds (+260) @ New York Mets (-333)

Implied Run Totals:

Reds – 3.3 IRT

Mets – 6.0 IRT

Rundown:

The Reds will send Justin Dunn to the mound in a tough matchup with this red-hot Mets team. Dunn hasn’t pitched in the big leagues yet this season and has really struggled in the minors with a 6.92 ERA, so no reason to get to him on this slate. New York will send Chris Bassitt to the mound in a great matchup with a weak lineup and comes in as a massive -333 favorite, so the win equity is huge. He has at least 23.3 DraftKings points in three of his last four games and is a great pitching option on this slate.

CIN 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: None

GPP Note: No interest in this Reds lineup right now.

NYM 5-star plays: Starling Marte, Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso

4-star plays: Brandon Nimmo, Dan Vogelbach, Jeff McNeil, Tyler Naquin

GPP Note: The Mets look great here against Dunn with a 6 implied run total.

Washington Nationals (+160) @ Chicago Cubs (-190)

Implied Run Totals:

Nationals – 3.2 IRT

Cubs – 4.4 IRT

Rundown:

The Nats will send Anibal Sanchez to the mound in a good enough matchup with the Cubs. Keep an eye on the DFS Army Weather Station, but it appears the wind will be blowing in pretty heavily tonight in Wrigley which will help both of these pitchers and hurt the offenses. Sanchez isn’t a guy I want to get a ton of here regardless of the wind, however. Keegan Thompson will take the mound for the Cubs and is interesting as an SP2 here. If the wind is going to be coming in, in a great matchup with this AAA lineup that the Nats are rolling out… he could be in play. He’s had negative fantasy points in two of his last three but also has at least 26 DraftKings points in two of his last four. It’s pretty evident that the volatility is there, so I’ll keep him for two pitcher sites as an SP2 for tournaments.

WAS 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Luke Voit

GPP Note: I don’t like this lineup and if the wind is blowing in, it’s a no from me.

CHC 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Willson Contreras, Seiya Suzuki, Ian Happ

GPP Note: Mini-stack only in a great matchup.

Watching the weather is half the battle when it comes to MLB DFS. The DFS Army Weather Station has you covered, from games that have delay and postponement potential, to games that could have significant winds that will play a roll in selecting a team to stack or a pitcher to use.

Los Angeles Angels (+110) @ Oakland Athletics (-132)

Implied Run Totals:

Angels – 3.6 IRT

Athletics – 4.0 IRT

Rundown:

Jose Suarez will get the start for the Angels in a great matchup with what might be the worst lineup in baseball, right there with the Nationals that we just touched on. Suarez has gotten a win and has at least 31 FanDuel points in back-to-back games. I just think we can do better from a ceiling perspective. I don’t have an issue using him as an SP2 on DraftKings, but I want more upside on one-pitcher sites. The A’s will send Cole Irvin to the mound in a solid matchup as well. He has a quality start in six straight games, so it’s pretty clear the consistency is there, and is a guy that is playable in all formats.

LAA 5-star plays: Shohei Ohtani

4-star plays: Luis Rengifo, Taylor Ward

GPP Note: I’m not huge on the Angels here.

OAK 5-star plays: Ramon Laureano

4-star plays: Sean Murphy

GPP Note: Same story here, I don’t want to stack up this A’s team.

San Francisco Giants (+155) @ San Diego Padres (-189)

Implied Run Totals:

Giants – 3.3 IRT

Padres – 4.4 IRT

Rundown:

Alex Wood will get the start for the Giants in a tough matchup with the Padres in this one. Wood struggled last time out against the Dodgers, but that’s understandable, he’s been pretty good outside of that start but I still don’t know that I love him in a tough matchup. He’d be more of a tournament SP2 option for me on this slate. The Padres will send Blake Snell to the mound in a nice matchup against a struggling Giants team. Snell has a 30.2% strikeout rate on the season and at least 21.7 DraftKings points in four of his last five starts, he’s a great option in all formats on this slate.

SFG 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Austin Slater, Wilmer Flores, J.D. Davis

GPP Note: The Giants do hit lefties pretty well, but I’ll lean with Snell in this one.

SDP 5-star plays: Juan Soto, Manny Machado

4-star plays: Jurickson Profar, Josh Bell, Brandon Drury

GPP Note: If the Padres get overlooked here they could be a sneaky stack.

Pittsburgh Pirates (-) @ Arizona Diamondbacks (-)

Implied Run Totals:

Pirates – NA IRT

Diamondbacks – NA IRT

Rundown:

Pittsburgh will send Tyler Beede to the mound against a Diamondbacks team that has been pesky as of late. Beede is a pretty quick cross-off from me anyway, he hasn’t scored double-digit DraftKings points once this season… so no interest here. The Dbacks will send Zac Gallen to the mound in a great matchup against this Pirates offense. Gallen has been good this season and has a 23.3% strikeout rate along with a great matchup, he’s a great option in all formats on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

PIT 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Bryan Reynolds, Oneil Cruz

GPP Note: The Pirates are more of a one-off team for me than anything on this slate.

ARI 5-star plays: Alek Thomas, Ketel Marte, Christian Walker

4-star plays: Josh Rojas, Daulton Varsho

GPP Note: I think the Dbacks could be really sneaky in this one.

MLB DFS Winning Lineups $50,000

New York Yankees (-117) @ Seattle Mariners (-103)

Implied Run Totals:

Yankees – 3.9 IRT

Mariners – 3.8 IRT

Rundown:

We’ll round out the slate with the Yankees sending Jameson Taillon to the mound in a nice matchup with this Mariners team in a pitcher’s park. Taillon has been pretty volatile as of late but I think this ballpark will help him. He has a 20.8% strikeout rate on the season and makes sense as a secondary option on this slate. The Mariners will send Logan Gilbert to the mound in a tough matchup with this Yankees offense. Gilbert struggled in this spot last time out where he gave up three home runs and six earned runs. That game was in New York where the ball tends to fly out a little more often than in Seattle, so he’s another guy that will benefit from the park swap and is a guy I think we can get to in tournaments at the very least.

NYY 5-star plays: Aaron Judge

4-star plays: DJ LeMahieu, Matt Carpenter, Gleyber Torres

GPP Note: I’ll never have an issue with the Yankees stack but Gilbert is a legit pitcher.

SEA 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Ty France, Jesse Winker, Mitch Haniger

GPP Note: The Mariners are probably more of a mini-stack team for me.
