Main MLB Slate Player Projections and Stacks:

Kansas City Royals (+187) @ New York Yankees (-226)

Implied Run Totals:

Royals – 3.5 IRT

Yankees – 5.2 IRT

Rundown:

We’ll open up the day with Brady Singer heading into Yankee Stadium to take on this tough Yankees lineup. He’s coming off of a huge game last time out with 12 k’s against the Rays, but he still won’t be a spot I want to go back to here… maybe if you’re maxing the tourney, but he still would be a low-exposure guy. Jameson Taillon will be his mound opponent in a nice matchup with this weak Royals lineup that just got weaker after trading Andrew Benintendi to the Yankees yesterday. Taillon hasn’t been good as of late and has a sub-20% strikeout rate on the season, I think we can do better than him on this slate.

KCR 5-star plays: Whit Merrifield

4-star plays: MJ Melendez, Hunter Dozier

GPP Note: More of a mini-stack team in a nice ballpark upgrade.

NYY 5-star plays: Aaron Judge

4-star plays: DJ LeMahieu, Andrew Benintendi, Anthony Rizzo, Matt Carpenter

GPP Note: I don’t love stacking against Singer, but the ballpark is great and so is this Yankees lineup.

Philadelphia Phillies (-190) @ Pittsburgh Pirates (+160)

Implied Run Totals:

Phillies – 4.7 IRT

Pirates – 3.5 IRT

Rundown:

The Phillies will send Zach Wheeler to the mound in an elite matchup with the Pirates in a park upgrade for pitching. Wheeler has at least 20.1 DraftKings points in four of his last five and has a 26.7% strikeout rate on the season, he’s a great SP1 play in all formats. Zach Thompson will start for the Pirates in a tough matchup with the Phillies. He’s been held under 10 DraftKings points in four of his last five and gave up seven earned runs to the Marlins last time out, it’s a no from me.

PHI 5-star plays: Kyle Schwarber

4-star plays: Rhys Hoskins, JT Realmuto, Darick Hall, Nick Castellanos

GPP Note: I don’t love stacking in Pittsburgh, but this is a solid tournament stack at the very least.

PIT 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Bryan Reynolds

GPP Note: I don’t want to stack this team against Wheeler.

Detroit Tigers (+189) @ Toronto Blue Jays (-228)

Implied Run Totals:

Tigers – 3.7 IRT

Blue Jays – 5.5 IRT

Rundown:

The Tigers will send Tyler Alexander to the mound in a really tough matchup with the hot-hitting Jays on the road. With just a 12.9% strikeout rate on the season, the Jays are going to attack early and often, so Alexander won’t be a guy I want to get to here. Yusei Kikuchi will start for the Jays in a pretty solid matchup with Detroit but be careful, this Tigers lineup does hit lefties pretty well as we saw against Manaea a few days ago. This Toronto ballpark is beneficial to offenses as well… Kikuchi may be limited due to coming off of the IL, so probably more of a deep GPP flyer than anything for me.

DET 5-star plays: Javier Baez

4-star plays: Riley Greene, Robbie Grossman, Eric Haase

GPP Note: The Tigers could be sneaky here. I love the mini-stack and like a full-stack.

TOR 5-star plays: George Springer, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette

4-star plays: Alejandro Kirk, Teoscar Hernandez, Matt Chapman

GPP Note: The Jays are a top stack on this slate.

Watching the weather is half the battle when it comes to MLB DFS. The DFS Army Weather Station has you covered, from games that have delay and postponement potential, to games that could have significant winds that will play a roll in selecting a team to stack or a pitcher to use.

Cleveland Guardians (-120) @ Boston Red Sox (+100)

Implied Run Totals:

Guardians – 4.7 IRT

Red Sox – 4.5 IRT

Rundown:

Triston McKenzie will start for the Guardians in a tough matchup in Fenway against the Red Sox but he’s been really good as of late. He has at least 40 FanDuel points in three of his last four games and has a 23.9% strikeout rate on the season. He’ll probably be more of a secondary pitching option on this slate just due to the matchup, but again, this lineup is watered down right now with Story and Devers still out for the Red Sox. Speaking of Boston, they’ll send Kutter Crawford to the mound and is a guy that has flashed some signs of promise already this season. If you need a punt option as your SP2, I think you could do worse, but he won’t be a guy I want to get to on single pitcher sites.

CLE 5-star plays: Jose Ramirez

4-star plays: Steven Kwan, Josh Naylor, Amed Rosario

GPP Note: More of a mini-stack team unless you think they can take advantage of Crawford.

BOS 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Jarren Duran, Xander Bogaerts, JD Martinez

GPP Note: I don’t really want to stack against McKenzie.

Seattle Mariners (+123) @ Houston Astros (-141)

Implied Run Totals:

Mariners – 3.8 IRT

Astros – 4.4 IRT

Rundown:

Logan Gilbert will get the start for Seattle on the road as they head into Houston. He’s been pretty good on the season with a 2.77 ERA but hasn’t flashed much of an upside for DFS as of late. He still has a 23.4% strikeout rate on the season, so I do think he’s in play as a pitching option here. The Astros will send Jose Urquidy to the mound in a nice matchup against a below-average Seattle offense. He’s shown a nice floor as well with at least 17 DraftKings poitns in five straight games and is in play in all formats.

SEA 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Julio Rodriguez, Jesse Winker, Kyle Lewis, Ty France

GPP Note: I probably don’t want to stack against Urquidy, but there are some nice one-off options here.

HOU 5-star plays: Kyle Tucker, Yordan Alvarez

4-star plays: Jose Altuve, Jeremy Pena, Alex Bregman

GPP Note: I like the lefties the most against Gilbert.

Los Angeles Dodgers (-209) @ Colorado Rockies (+175)

Implied Run Totals:

Dodgers – 7.2 IRT

Rockies – 5.0 IRT

Rundown:

Onto Coors Field we go as Tyler Anderson will take the mound. He’s been really solid as of late, but he pitched in Coors four starts ago and gave up 10 hits on his way to four earned runs, so I’ll have a hard time getting to him here. Jose Urena will start for the Rockies and just won’t sniff my pitching pool. He’s kind of been my nemesis as of late as I continue to stack against him, but the Brewers got to him a good deal last time out. The Dodgers are the top stack on the slate and it’s not all that close, that said, it will be reflected in their ownership.

LAD 5-star plays: Mookie Betts, Trea Turner, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith

4-star plays: Max Muncy, Justin Turner, Gavin Lux, Cody Bellinger

GPP Note: It’s going to be really hard not to like the Dodgers here.

COL 5-star plays: Kris Bryant, CJ Cron

4-star plays: Connor Joe, Brendan Rodgers, Charlie Blackmon

GPP Note: The Rockies have hit lefties really well this season and make sense as a full stack in all formats as well.

MLB DFS Winning Lineups $50,000

Texas Rangers (+185) @ Los Angeles Angels (-222)

Implied Run Totals:

Rangers – 3.1 IRT

Angels – 4.6 IRT

Rundown:

The Rangers will send Spencer Howard to the mound in a solid matchup with a weak Angels lineup right now. That said, Howard has a 7.11 ERA and a sub-20% strikeout rate on the season, so not a guy that I’ll get to here. I do like Shohei Ohtani quite a bit on the other side of this one, however. He has a massive 35.9% strikeout rate on the season and can take advantage of this Rangers lineup, he’s right up there with Wheeler as a top option on this slate for me.

TEX 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Corey Seager

GPP Note: One-offs only, I love Ohtani here.

LAA 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Taylor Ward, Jared Walsh, Jo Adell

GPP Note: I like the matchup, this team just kind of stinks, they’re a solid mini-stack however.

Chicago Cubs (+120) @ San Francisco Giants (-143)

Implied Run Totals:

Cubs – 3.8 IRT

Giants – 4.4 IRT

Rundown:

The final game of the slate will feature Justin Steele and the Cubs heading into San Fran to take on a struggling Giants team. Steele has been pretty serviceable this season and gets a nice ballpark boost for pitching. He has a 21.1% strikeout rate on the season and is a guy I think we can get to as an SP2 option. The Giants will send Alex Wood to the mound and is a guy that has been pretty solid as of late, I would have no issue with him as an SP2 either.

CHC 5-star plays: Willson Contreras

4-star plays: Christopher Morel, Seiya Suzuki

GPP Note: Just one-offs here, but they do have some nice lefty-mashers.

SFG 5-star plays: Wilmer Flores, Yermin Mercedes

4-star plays: Austin Slater, Darin Ruf, Joey Bart

GPP Note: If you’re forcing in both Wheeler and Ohtani, the Giants make sense as a full-stack due to the prices on these guys and they hit lefties really well.
