Main MLB Slate Player Projections and Stacks:

Philadelphia Phillies (-166) @ Washington Nationals (+140)

Implied Run Totals:

Phillies – 6.0 IRT

Nationals – 4.8 IRT

Rundown:

The Phillies open up the slate with a massive six implied run total against Paolo Espino who will get the start for the Nationals. Espino has a 2.08 ERA on the season which is much better than you might initially think, but he hasn’t thrown more than 53 pitches on the season and this Nats bullpen is not good. Not to mention, the Phillies are red hot from the plate right now, so not a guy that I’ll have much interest in here. The Phillies will send Bailey Falter to the mound in a nice matchup against a weaker Nats lineup. On a big slate, I don’t think we need to get cute with him here however, he hasn’t really shown us much of anything this season.

PHI 5-star plays: Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper

4-star plays: Rhys Hoskins, Nick Castellanos, JT Realmuto

GPP Note: The Phillie are smoking hot right now and are a team I like quite a bit on this slate.

WAS 5-star plays: Juan Soto

4-star plays: Nelson Cruz, Luis Garcia, Josh Bell

GPP Note: I don’t hate a mini-stack here against a weaker lefty.

San Francisco Giants (-205) @ Pittsburgh Pirates (+171)

Implied Run Totals:

Giants – 4.8 IRT

Pirates – 3.4 IRT

Rundown:

Carlos Rodon will get the start for the Giants and looks like a great option against a weak Pirates offense in this one and comes in as a large -205 favorite. Rodon bounced back in a big way last time out with a win against the Dodgers, he’s an elite SP1 option on this slate. Zach Thompson will start for the Pirates and has been somewhat solid as of late, but I don’t think he’s a guy I really want to target all that heavily. This Giants offense can be pesky, and I think we can afford to be picky on this slate when it comes to pitching.

SFG 5-star plays: Mike Yastrzemski, Brandon Crawford

4-star plays: Brandon Belt, Joc Pederson

GPP Note: I don’t really love stacking in this ballpark, so I’ll stick to a Giants mini-stack.

PIT 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Bryan Reynolds

GPP Note: I’ll have too much interest in Rodon to get much of the Pirates here.

New York Yankees (-111) @ Toronto Blue Jays (-107)

Implied Run Totals:

Yankees – 4.9 IRT

Blue Jays – 4.8 IRT

Rundown:

Jordan Montgomery will take the mound for the Yankees in a tough matchup with this Jays lineup. He’s been pretty good as of late with at least 22.8 DraftKings points in two of his last three and makes some sense as an SP2 in tournaments. Ross Stripling will start for the Jays in a tough matchup as well against this Yankees lineup that is full of home runs. He’s coming off of a nice start last time out but I don’t think he has the upside to make him worth it even at a really cheap price tag in this matchup.

NYY 5-star plays: Aaron Judge

4-star plays: Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Rizzo, DJ LeMahieu

GPP Note: I’ll never have an issue with a Yankees stack in this matchup.

TOR 5-star plays: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette

4-star plays: George Springer, Teoscar Hernandez

GPP Note: Montgomery is a solid pitcher, but the Jays have some lefty mashers that can take advantage of him.

Watching the weather is half the battle when it comes to MLB DFS. The DFS Army Weather Station has you covered, from games that have delay and postponement potential, to games that could have significant winds that will play a roll in selecting a team to stack or a pitcher to use.

Texas Rangers (+104) @ Detroit Tigers (-122)

Implied Run Totals:

Rangers – 4.0 IRT

Tigers – 4.2 IRT

Rundown:

Jon Gray will take the mound for the Rangers in a nice matchup with a weaker Tigers lineup. Gray has been pretty good as of late with at least 10 strikeouts in two of his last three games and a quality start in both of those games as well. I really like his DraftKings price tag as an SP2, and does make some sense on FanDuel as well if you want to go lower with your pitching. Tarik Skubal will start for the Tigers and is looking to rebound after a bad game last time out against the Jays. I don’t love the price tag considering the other options we have in that range, but he’s fine for tournaments if you want to get some exposure.

TEX 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Adolis Garcia, Marcus Semien, Corey Seager

GPP Note: I don’t really want to stack against Skubal

DET 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Austin Meadows, Robbie Grossman, Jonathan Schoop

GPP Note: I’ll have more interest in Gray than anything in this Tigers lineup.

St. Louis Cardinals (+100) @ Boston Red Sox (-118)

Implied Run Totals:

Cardinals – 5.0 IRT

Red Sox – 5.2 IRT

Rundown:

The Cardinals will send Adam Wainwright to the mound in a tough matchup with Boston who has been swinging some hot bats as well. Wainwright is the definition of a horse, he’s thrown seven innings in four of his last five games, but I just don’t think I want to target him against this Red Sox lineup. Speaking of Boston, they’ll send Michael Wacha to the mound in a revenge game against his old squad. Wacha came crashing down to Earth last time out after dominating the Angels two starts ago. I don’t love targeting the Cardinals with opposing pitchers either, so I don’t see myself getting to either pitcher in this one.

STL 5-star plays: Paul Goldschmidt

4-star plays: Nolan Arenado, Tyler O’Neill

GPP Note: More of a mini-stack team for me here, Wacha is solid enough for me to not do a full-stack.

BOS 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Rafael Devers, Jarren Duran, JD Martinez, Xander Bogaerts

GPP Note: Wainwright is solid enough to not stack against here as well, but this Boston lineup is loaded.

Miami Marlins (-) @ New York Mets (-)

Implied Run Totals:

Marlins – NA IRT

Mets – NA IRT

Rundown:

Pablo Lopez will start for the Marlins as he makes his way back from a brief injury. He’s been pretty good on the season with a 2.30 ERA but the wrist injury does worry me a bit… so more of a tournament option for me. Carlos Carrasco will get the start for the Mets in a great matchup against this Marlins lineup. He’s one of the guys in that Skubal price range that I like quite a bit more. Carrasco has a 23.7% strikeout rate on the season and this Marlins team is great to target with opposing pitching.

MIA 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Jazz Chisholm

GPP Note: I’ll have more interest in Carrasco than anything from the Marlins.

NYM 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Francisco Lindor, Starling Marte

GPP Note: I don’t really want to stack against Pablo Lopez either.

MLB DFS Winning Lineups $50,000

Chicago White Sox (+140) @ Houston Astros (-166)

Implied Run Totals:

White Sox – 3.6 IRT

Astros – 4.6 IRT

Rundown:

The White Sox will send Lucas Giolito to the mound in this one as he’s struggled a bit as of late being held under 32 FanDuel points in three straight and doesn’t get any help from this matchup. He’ll be more of a tournament option than anything for me but would lean with guys like Carrasco for cash games in that price range. Framber Valdez will start for the Astros and has been in good shape as of late with a 2.64 ERA and at least 16.1 DraftKings poitns in five straight games.

CHW 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Luis Robert, Jose Abreu

GPP Note: I don’t really want to target Valdez with a full-stack.

HOU 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Kyle Tucker, Yordan Alvarez

GPP Note: More of a mini-stack team against Giolito for me.

San Diego Padres (-148) @ Colorado Rockies (+125)

Implied Run Totals:

Padres – 6.9 IRT

Rockies – 5.9 IRT

Rundown:

Into Coors Field we go as MacKenzie Gore will take the mound in a tough matchup. He’s coming off of a rough start against this same Rockies team last time out at home and now goes into Colorado where it won’t get much easier, he’ll be a fade for me. Then Kyle Freeland will start for the Rockies and I don’t see any reason to target him as a pitching option against a team with a 6.9 implied run total. The Padres will look like an elite stack here and one of the top stacks on the slate.

SDP 5-star plays: Manny Machado, Luke Voit, Jake Cronenworth, Jurickson Profar

4-star plays: Austin Nola, Trent Grisham

GPP Note: The Padres are a top stack here.

COL 5-star plays: CJ Cron, Connor Joe

4-star plays: Brendan Rodgers, Charlie Blackmon

GPP Note: I like the Padres a lot more simply due to the matchup, Gore is a great pitcher but Coors will get the best of anyone.

Kansas City Royals (-) @ Oakland Athletics (-)

Implied Run Totals:

Royals – NA IRT

Athletics – NA IRT

Rundown:

Zack Greinke will get the start for the Royals in this one after being on the IL for a little over two weeks. If we come to find out he won’t be restricted at all in this one the matchup does look great considering his price tag, but it’s not to say he’s been all that great this season. He’s probably a bit riskier than I’d feel comfortable with here personally. Frankie Montas will start for the A’s in a great matchup with the Royals and looks like one of the better pitching options on the slate considering his price tag. He’s coming off of a rough start last time out but has a 26.1% strikeout rate on the season and is a guy I’ll be overweight on here.

KCR 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Whit Merrifield

GPP Note: I like Montas a bunch here.

OAK 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Tony Kemp, Ramon Laureano

GPP Note: Greinke is kind of washed at this point in his career, so I think you can make a case for a mini-stack if you want.

Minnesota Twins (-124) @ Arizona Diamondbacks (+105)

Implied Run Totals:

Twins – 4.8 IRT

Diamondbacks – 4.4 IRT

Rundown:

Devin Smeltzer will take the mound for the Twins and looks like he could be in play as a value SP2 option in a nice matchup with this Arizona lineup. He has at least 13.3 DraftKings points in three of his last four and has a 2.38 ERA on the season. You can do much worse in this price range. The Diamondbacks will send Madison Bumgarner to the mound and probably won’t be a guy I have a whole lot of interest in here, he just hasn’t been all that great for DFS this season.

MIN 5-star plays: Byron Buxton, Carlos Correa

4-star plays: Gary Sanchez, Luis Arraez, Max Kepler

GPP Note: The Twins could be a sneaky stack on this slate against Mad Bum.

ARI 5-star plays: Ketel Marte

4-star plays: Christian Walker

GPP Note: I think I’ll have more interest in Smeltzer than this Diamondbacks offense as odd as it sounds.

Los Angeles Angels (+110) @ Seattle Mariners (-127)

Implied Run Totals:

Angels – 3.6 IRT

Mariners – 4.0 IRT

Rundown:

Michael Lorenzen will start for the Angels and looks like a solid enough option in a great matchup with this Mariners team in a pitcher’s park. I like his price tag a lot more on DraftKings where he’s $7.1k and not in the Lucas Giolito range of pitching. He has at least 20 DraftKings points in three of his last five games. Seattle will send Robbie Ray to the mound and he bounced back nicely last time out against the Red Sox but will always struggle with his command and if it’s not on, he will have a rough day, so more of a tournament guy for me against this Angels team.

LAA 5-star plays: Mike Trout

4-star plays: Shohei Ohtani, Taylor Ward

GPP Note: I do respect Ray as a pitcher but if he struggles with walks again it opens this Angels team up as a full-stack option.

SEA 5-star plays: Jesse Winker

4-star plays: Ty France, Julio Rodriguez

GPP Note: I don’t think I want to stack against Lorenzen, he’s been really solid this season.

Cleveland Guardians (+235) @ Los Angeles Dodgers (-287)

Implied Run Totals:

Guardians – 3.0 IRT

Dodgers – 5.2 IRT

Rundown:

We’ll round out the slate in Los Angeles where Zach Plesac will get the start for the Guardians. He’s not a guy that will make my pitching pool tonight in a rough matchup, this Dodgers team can smoke the ball from top to bottom of this order. Then Clayton Kershaw will start for the Dodgers and looks like a really nice option in all formats, he struggled last time out but we know the ceiling he can provide and the matchup is a great one with Cleveland who is coming out of Coors Field.

CLE 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Jose Ramirez

GPP Note: No real interest in stacking against Kershaw.

LAD 5-star plays: Freddie Freeman, Trea Turner

4-star plays: Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, Justin Turner

GPP Note: The Dodgers always get overlooked, so no issue going right back to them here.
