DFS Army’s Gthom breaks down an early 2022 SuperFlex mock draft. This SuperFlex mock draft was simulated and was likely sharper than your traditional home or family fantasy football league. This SuperFlex mock draft covers a 10-team, PPR, redraft league format.

1.07 – Dalvin Cook (RB) Minnesota Vikings
Considered: Patrick Mahomes, Najee Harris, Derrick Henry
My first pick in this SuperFlex mock draft was a tough one. Locking down quarterback in SuperFlex is crucial, but Mahomes at this point in the draft seems a little too much. Najee Harris’s team makes it tough for me to select him. For Derrick Henry, I actually have him ranked over Cook but in my last mock draft I featured him as my first pick, thus Cook it is. When drafting multiple fantasy football teams it is okay to diversify your selections who are ranked similarly. This helps avoid bust correlation and injury correlation with your other fantasy teams. While Cook struggles with injuries, he always has a safe floor and an extremely high ceiling when playing.

2.04 – Kyler Murray (QB) Arizona Cardinals
Considered: Lamar Jackson, Joe Mixon, Stefon Diggs
After getting a workhorse running back I turn my eyes to the quarterback position which features Kyler Murray and Lamar Jackson. Murray runs less, but he runs enough. Murray’s arm-talent makes me lean his direction. Joe Mixon felt like a solid pick at this position but with Cook already on roster I did not want to risk back-to-back high-end running back selections. Stefon Diggs was also available but receivers seem to be the forgotten ones in SuperFlex, meaning they fall in drafts.
3.07 – CeeDee Lamb (WR) Dallas Cowboys
Considered: Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce
Lamb is a player that becomes very interesting now that Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson have left Dallas. In recent years, Dallas has shown they are one of the best offenses year-to-year. I like that to continue with Lamb being the clear WR1 now. If you want a closer look at Lamb’s outlook checkout these Too Early WR Rankings. Kelce almost persuaded me to select him but tight ends can fall in SuperFlex drafts. Tyreek Hill was my least favorite from this considered group. The uncertainty with the new Miami offense has me lean on Lamb’s clearly defined role inside an offense with a solid track record.
Dak Prescott to Ceedee Lamb for the win. The #Cowboys have won 5 straight.

4.04 – Mike Evans – (WR) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Considered: Keenan Allen, Diontae Johnson, Nick Chubb
Looking at QBs and RBs available, they feel overvalued at this spot in the SuperFlex mock draft. QB has Tom Brady and Dak Prescott as options, but there is great value below those players as well. RB seems to bring more risk than I want at this point of the draft. Nick Chubb, Aaron Jones and Saquon Barkley are the top-three available players at RB, yet the players below them intrigue me too. I end up grabbing Mike Evans as my WR2. Evans is touchdown-dependent but frequently gets it done for fantasy managers and there could be upside with him too. You can see more about Evans in this write up. Keenan Allen was interesting, I just do not like the limited upside he brings. Diontae Johnson is solid for PPR but I do lean towards Mike Evans in this spot.

5.07 – Saquon Barkley (RB) New York Giants
Considered – Matthew Stafford, Aaron Rodgers
Unfortunately I missed out on Trey Lance as my second quarterback selection, he is someone I am heavily targeting going into 2022. Matthew Stafford is available but so is Aaron Rodgers and Justin Fields, so I am going to wait until next round to solidify QB. WRs at this point seem to carry a lot of risk. That list features DJ Moore, Michael Pittman JR and DK Metcalf. Locking down my team’s RB2-spot feels like the thing to do given the players available. Barkley feels the safest from the RB group, assuming he stays healthy. Barkley is coming off the board as RB17. Breece Hall, Aaron Jones and Nick Chubb were all selected before Barkley and they are members of well defined committees. Cam Akers and Antonio Gibson remain on the board but I want all of Barkley’s upside with my fifth pick.

6.04 – Matthew Stafford (QB) Los Angeles Rams
Considered: Antonio Gibson, DK Metcalf, Amari Cooper
I was hoping that Aaron Rodgers would fall to me, however Matthew Stafford fell instead. Stafford is a solid fantasy quarterback and there is nothing sexy about him, making him a great QB2. Antonio Gibson was tough to pass on but there are players remaining that could be great RB3’s for my team. DK Metcalf was considered but felt riskier than Stafford. Amari Cooper was another consideration but I would rather secure a position. Cooper is tied to a quarterback pending a likely suspension, though his upside could payoff.
7.07 – Ezekiel Elliott (RB) Dallas Cowboys
Considered: None
Ezekiel Elliott is painful to watch. As a Cowboys fan, I really prefer Tony Pollard but for some reason Dallas refuses to unleash Pollard. Despite that, Elliott is still a formidable fantasy player because his workload is guaranteed. While he is far removed from his 20-touch days, a minimum of 15 touches per-game should be the floor in 2022. He also gets red zone carries on an offense that scores a lot of points. I love Elliott as my RB3 here.
8.04 – Courtland Sutton (WR) Denver Broncos
Considered: Elijah Mitchell
I love Courtland Sutton heading into 2022. You can find my in-depth dive about Sutton’s value in this link here! Long story short, one of these Denver receivers are going to pop-off for fantasy. Jeudy has the higher ADP, yet Sutton has just as good of a chance to take the next step as well. It would not surprise me to see both players finish in the top-15 at their position. Elijah Mitchell is a strong candidate as well but I would rather solidify my WR3 selection with Sutton.

9.07 – Elijah Mitchell (RB) San Francisco 49ers
Considered: Damien Harris, Elijah Moore
There was a heavy run of receivers drafted since my last pick and somehow Elijah Mitchell remains available. Damien Harris and Elijah Moore are also on the board but neither intrigue me as much as Mitchell. This is an excellent RB4 pick up.
10.04 – Adam Thielen (WR) Minnesota Vikings
Considered: DeVonta Smith, T.J. Hockenson, Chase Edmonds
There are lots of ways I can go since I have a balanced team of QB (2), RB (4), WR (3), TE (0). DeVonta Smith does not do it for me at this spot. T.J. Hockenson temps me but the other players at tight end intrigue me more. Chase Edmonds was the last considered player but the backfield in Miami feels like a dart-throw, although Edmonds should be the most consistent Miami RB. I fall on Adam Thielen who feels overlooked heading into 2022. Thielen in weeks 1 – 13 was the WR13 overall and averaged 16.1-FPPG. Injuries derailed his season from there but I feel like he has great value in the double-digit rounds.

11.07 – Devin Singletary (RB) Buffalo Bills
Considered: T.J. Hockenson
Between Singletary and Hockenson, Singletary is the easier selection. You can find my love for Singletary in this write-up here. This would be my RB5 selected, but Singletary has a realistic high-end RB2 ceiling. Sure, Buffalo drafted a rookie running back in the second-round but Singletary knows the Buffalo offense, he understands the pass protections, and he has multiple years of contributing to this offense. Cook will vulture at times but for the first-half of the year it should be Singletary receiving the better workload. Hockenson was once again considered but I still liked the value below at his position.
12.04 – T.J. Hockenson (TE) Detroit Lions
Considered: Chase Claypool, Ryan Tannehill
Finally, I select Hockenson in the 12th because his value became interesting. If you want a deeper look at Hockenson’s outlook, checkout my write up for him in my Too Early TE Rankings. I grabbed Hockenson over Dallas Goedert and Dalton Schultz. For me Shultz is ranked higher than Hock, because he is the safer player, but I already have Lamb and Elliott on my squad. I considered Chase Claypool but felt Hockenson’s ceiling would be a better fit for my 12th pick. Tannehill was also considered as my QB3, an important position in SuperFlex leagues.

13.07 – Chase Claypool (WR) Pittsburgh Steelers
Considered: Russell Gage, Daniel Jones, Mac Jones
Claypool is only 23 years old and it sure doesn’t feel like that. Claypool provided some flex-worthy games in 2021 and I don’t mind taking that in the 13th. The Canadian is an athletic freak too and I won’t rule out a much improved year, though I highly doubt it. I considered Russell Gage but I feel I may be able to grab him another round or so after this. Daniel Jones intrigued me as my QB3 due to his running ability and new offensive scheme. While Jones has been a mess, perhaps there could be improvement with this new coaching staff. Mac Jones was least considered because his ceiling seems to be nonexistent.
14.04 – Davis Mills (QB) Houston Texans
Considered: Daniel Jones, Darrell Henderson Jr.
Even after considering Daniel Jones in the previous round of this SuperFlex mock draft, I feel more inclined to take Davis Mills as my QB3. Mills quietly finished as the QB10 and averaged 17.76-FPPG from weeks 14-18. At times last season, Mills looked like the most competent rookie quarterback. I don’t mind taking him as much needed QB depth for emergencies. Darrell Henderson was considered as well. Locking down my QB depth was more important with my final bench-spot.

15.07 – Justin Tucker (K) Baltimore Ravens
Kickers in fantasy football are dumb… There I said it.
16.04 – Miami Dolphins D/ST
Defenses should be looked at on a week-to-week basis. They are always my last pick.
