Boston Celtics @ Brooklyn Nets

Vegas Total: 231.5

Vegas Spread: Bkn -12.5

We’ll kick this playoff Tuesday slate off with the Celtics, as they try to avoid elimination in game five tonight. Kemba Walker and Robert Williams both enter this game as doubtful which will open up minutes for additional pieces. We can expect Tristan Thompson to start at the five again, he came down to Earth last game but I have no issue going right back to him here, he’s been good this series. Romeo Langford got the start in place of Kemba last time out, he played 25 minutes but didn’t do a whole lot in those minutes. Payton Pritchard might be the guy we want to go to instead. He played 24 minutes and scored over 20 fantasy points, he’s a solid value option. Jayson Tatum is the guy you want from this team however, he has at least 62 DraftKings points in two straight and he’s going to have to carry the Celtics here. I like Marcus Smart as well, he’s going to take on additional ball-handling duties and should see some extra shots with Kemba out, he has at least 37 DraftKings points in three straight games. I never love Evan Fournier, maybe it’s because he just looks so unathletic on the court, but something about him I don’t like. He’s been held under 30 fantasy points in seven straight games as well. From Brooklyn, boy did the big three show up to play last game, they all scored 60+ fantasy points… it’s hard not to go back to them here. I think my favorite option would be Kevin Durant on both sites due to the SF eligibility on him. That being said, they’re all in play here. Joe Harris is more of a GPP guy as he can be pretty scoring dependent, but he’s going to play big minutes and have some open looks throughout the night. The only other guy I can really make a case for his Bruce Brown, he had a nice night last time out going for 26 DraftKings points, I think you can make a case for him as a value play in GPPs.

5-star play: Jayson Tatum, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving (DraftKings), James Harden

4-star play: Tristan Thompson, Marcus Smart, Evan Fournier, Joe Harris

Deeper Value: Payton Pritchard, Bruce Brown

GPP Sleeper: Evan Fournier, Payton Pritchard, Bruce Brown, Blake Griffin

Portland Trailblazers @ Denver Nuggets

Vegas Total: 226.0

Vegas Spread: Den -2.0

Starting with the Blazers, as they look to take a 3-2 advantage in this opening series. Damian Lillard has essentially put the team on his back up until the last game. He shot terribly last game, 1-10 to be exact. If people are going to see that box score and be off of him, I’ll go right back to the well. He also didn’t see his usual minutes due to blowing the Nuggets out as well. CJ McCollum isn’t a sexy option but has been really consistent and SG is extremely ugly especially on FanDuel. Jusuf Nurkic was a guy I was really high on in the first four games and was able to avoid some foul trouble in game four. The price has come up on him, so I don’t see myself being as heavy on him here but he’s still a very nice option. Outside of those three, there isn’t a whole lot that I’m falling in love with, but guys like Robert Covington, Carmelo Anthony, and Norman Powell are all GPP guys for me. Powell specifically had an awesome game last time out where he went for 40 fantasy points, but opposite of Dame, he shot 11-15 from the field… so same story, if people are going to chase that game, maybe I come in a little underweight, but the price tag is nice on him. From the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic is right there with those Brooklyn guys as the top spend-up option on the slate. He had a rough go of it last time out but previously had over 55 fantasy points in each game of this series. Michael Porter Jr. probably killed your lineup if you played him last time out, but it’s another case of him not seeing his minutes due to the blowout last time out. It wasn’t a good game for the Nuggets as a whole, so I have no issue going right back to him here. Facundo Campazzo is going to run most of the point responsibilities and has looked pretty solid in this series, he has at least 30 DraftKings points in three straight games. I do like going right back to Aaron Gordon though, he’s going to play big minutes and taking on additional responsibilities with Barton and Murray out. He’s probably more of a tournament option but a guy I do like taking a chance on. Then you can round this team out with value options in Austin Rivers, Paul Millsap, and JaMychal Green. Rivers will see the most minutes of the three, but all are solid looks for GPPs. I think you can make a case for Monte Morris as well, he’s stepped up a bit since returning from injury, he would be my favorite of that last trio.

5-star play: Damian Lillard, Nikola Jokic

4-star play: CJ McCollum, Jusuf Nurkic, Norman Powell, Robert Covington, Michael Porter, Facundo Campazzo

Deeper Value: JaMychal Green

GPP Sleeper: Robert Covington, Carmelo Anthony, Aaron Gordon, Austin Rivers, Monte Morris, Paul Millsap

Los Angeles Lakers @ Phoenix Suns

Vegas Total: 207.5

Vegas Spread: Pho -5.0

Starting with the Lakers, the big news here is that Anthony Davis is expected to miss this game. That being said, his official ruling is questionable, so keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates surrounding his status. I’m going to operate under the assumption that he’s out for this one, below is how this team has fared this season with Davis off the court:

  • LeBron James – 33.2% usage rate; 1.5 fpm
  • Kyle Kuzma – 22.2% usage rate; 0.95 fpm
  • Montrezl Harrell – 22.9% usage rate; 1.12 fpm
  • Andre Drummond – 26.1% usage rate; 1.31 fpm

LeBron James is the obvious one here that benefits from Davis being out due to the usage he can take up, but I think Andre Drummond would be in line for a huge game. His minutes would be more secure as the Lakers had been running Davis at the five a decent amount… and that 1.3 fantasy point per minute number looks really nice on him. Dennis Schroder is another guy that will see big minutes, he had a down game last time out, but he’s been good enough in this series to where I think he makes sense here with some additional usage thrown his way. From the Suns, Devin Booker came down to Earth a bit in the past two games, but the minutes are still there for him making him a solid GPP option at worst. Chris Paul is pretty clearly not healthy so he’s more of a GPP guy for me but he looked really solid last time out going for 41 DraftKings points in 32 minutes. DeAndre Ayton continues to look good in this matchup which is somewhat surprising. He should also benefit from Davis potentially missing this game as well. Mikal Bridges hasn’t looked great from a fantasy perspective but they’re going to need him for the defense at the very least. Lastly, I’ll go right back to Jae Crowder as well at a cheap price tag with both SF/PF eligibility on DraftKings. I played a lot of him last time out and it looks like his shooting turned around a bit, still nothing crazy but he’s doing enough on the peripherals where if he has an average shooting day he’s going to walk into 30 fantasy points.

5-star play: LeBron James, Andre Drummond

4-star play: Dennis Schroder, Kyle Kuzma, Dennis Schroder, Devin Booker, Chris Paul, DeAndre Ayton, Jae Crowder

Deeper Value: Alex Caruso

GPP Sleeper: Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, Mikal Bridges, Cameron Payne
