Full Court Press Breakdown for NBA DFS 2/16:

Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Steve aka @Mutt18 on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. We also have NEW pricing options, where you can sign up for WEEKLY access as opposed to be committed for a full month, so you have no excuse to try us out! With that said, let’s get it started!

Denver Nuggets @ Boston Celtics

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

For the Nuggets, the obvious play here is going to be Nikola Jokic as he should be able to get whatever he wants here as the Celtics are one of the worst teams in the league at defending bigs. Jamal Murray has been on and off, but this is a good matchup for him as well. Michael Porter Jr. would be a great play here as well if Barton misses again, as he is coming off a down game and we can use recency bias to our advantage. If you’re looking to get deep, Monte Morris has been playing well off the bench but I think there will be some better value out there.

For the Celtics, Jayson Tatum should bounce back in this spot after shooting 3-14 against the Wizards, and Jaylen Brown has been on an absolute tear since returning from injury, some would even say he’s been better than Tatum. Kemba Walker is in a solid spot as well here as Murray isn’t the best defender. If Walker were to miss for any reason, I’ll be all over Payton Pritchard as a value play. I don’t expect this game to have a very high total, so this isn’t one that I’ll be targeting too heavily.

5-star play: Nikola Jokic, Jayson Tatum

4-star play: Kemba Walker, Jaylen Brown, Michael Porter Jr.

Deeper Value: Monte Morris, Payton Pritchard

GPP Sleeper: Payton Pritchard

New Orleans Pelicans @ Memphis Grizzlies

Vegas Total: 230

Vegas Spread: Mem -1.0

We’ve got a decent total on this game, and a matchup of the #1 and #2 overall pick from last year. Zion Williamson has been showing some incredible efficiency when on the court over the past few weeks, and he’ll look to continue his hot streak against the Grizzlies who don’t have anyone that can matchup with him. Brandon Ingram is the other main name on this Pels team, especially with Lonzo in trade talks. I wouldn’t pair the two though. Eric Bledsoe is still pretty cheap everywhere, and he’d get a boost if Lonzo gets traded before game time. Josh Hart has been playing really well off the bench as well, and he makes for a really solid play here if you’re looking for value as well.

For the Grizzlies, Ja Morant is going to be the stud here, as he will look to show out here going up against the only guy drafted ahead of him. He’ll see a lot of Bledsoe who has essentially given up on defense. Jonas Valanciunas has a tougher matchup here, as Steven Adams is one of the better interior defenders, but that should open up a few more shots for Brandon Clarke and he’s a bit underpriced. Dillon Brooks is cheap as well and should see some solid minutes, as has Kyle Anderson but you never get excited about playing him. Grayson Allen would also be in play if he ends up starting again.

5-star play: Zion Williamson, Ja Morant

4-star play: Brandon Ingram, Jonas Valanciunas, Brandon Clarke

Deeper Value: Eric Bledsoe, Grayson Allen, Josh Hart

GPP Sleeper: Josh Hart

Toronto Raptors @ Milwaukee Bucks

Vegas Total: 234

Vegas Spread: Mil -5.5

This looks like it’ll be one of the better games to target here, as we have a total of over 230 and two eastern conference foes going head to head. Fred VanVleet has the best matchup of anyone on this Raptors team, as we’ve seen them get crushed by guards who Jrue isn’t guarding. Kyle Lowry is also a solid play, especially if Jrue is out again here. Pascal Siakam has also been heating up, and with OG continuing to be out we’ll have to keep an eye out on news there. It’ll be a downgrade to Siakam if OG plays. Chris Boucher has also been logging solid minutes off the bench, but I do like Aron Baynes for value here.

For the Bucks, the big news hinges on whether or not Jrue Holiday is back with the team here. Giannis Antentokounmpo would be the biggest beneficiary if Jrue is out, as it puts his sky high ceiling back in play as he’ll have the ball in his hands more. Khris Middleton has also been heating up, and would be another solid beneficiary of Jrue Holiday being out, as the Raptors have been getting killed by SFs lately and he comes at a nice discount to Giannis. Donte DiVincenzo has also been playing well, and he’s a really solid value. If you’re looking to get deeper value, Bobby Portis will also have a very favorable matchup against this Raptors 2nd unit.

5-star play: Fred VanVleet, Giannis Antetokounmpo

4-star play: Pascal Siakam, Kyle Lowry, Khris Middleton

Deeper Value: Bobby Portis, Donte DiVincenzo, Aron Baynes

GPP Sleeper: Chris Boucher, Bobby Portis

Portland Trail Blazers @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

For the Trail Blazers, we have another great game for them in a solid matchup as well. Damian Lillard is in prime form right now and he gets a great matchup with no Maledon or SGA to defend him. Enes Kanter also has a bit of a revenge factor here as he was a back up on the Thunder for a few years, and as long as Nurkic is out he’s going to play a heavy role. Carmelo Anthony is a great play as well, as he’s been playing heavy minutes and I like him more if he comes off the bench as he’ll dominate usage with the 2nd team. Robert Covington has also been playing really well, but I think he’s priced right at value on both sites. Rodney Hood would make an interesting value play if he suits up, and if he doesn’t then I’ll have a few more shares of Gary Trent Jr.

For the Thunder, they are really limited on guards here, as Shai and Maledon are both already ruled out. Hamidou Diallo will have the ball in his hands a lot here and he is a bit underpriced given how little guards the Thunder currently have healthy. Al Horford has been playing great as well, and we all know that Kanter is a liability on defense. Darius Bazley will also see an increased role here as well, he has a nice ceiling especially given his price on both sites. He has a ceiling of around 45 and I think he can hit that in this matchup. Josh Jackson, Luguentz Dort, and Kenrich Williams will also see increased roles as well, all of those guys are in play for value tonight.

5-star play: Damian Lillard, Al Horford

4-star play: Darius Bazley, Carmelo Anthony, Gary Trent Jr., Hamidou Diallo

Deeper Value: Josh Jackson, Lugeuntz Dort, Kenrich Williams, Rodney Hood

GPP Sleeper: Lugeuentz Dort, Kenrich Williams

Los Angeles Lakers @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

For the Lakers, AD is out for the next few weeks as they won’t risk that achilles. This makes LeBron James a premier play here tonight, as he’ll be doing it all for the Lakers. Dennis Schroder will also see an increased role, and we all know that this T-Wolves team is a team we want to attack. Montrezl Harrell will also see an increased role with Davis on the shelf, and his minutes will be blowout proof here tonight so I really like him. Kyle Kuzma will likely slide into the starting role as well and see 30+ minutes tonight which puts him in play for value as well. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is also in play for value, he has some nice upside with AD out and I like him on FanDuel more as he can get you value just in steals alone. Overall this is a Lakers team that we can get a few pieces from tonight.

For the Wolves, the biggest news depends on D’Angelo Russell here, as there is a nice revenge factor for him after he was a castaway from this Lakers team after they traded him away for snitching on Nick Young. Karl-Anthony Towns has a really good matchup here with AD out, as he should be able to do some serious damage inside against this Lakers team. Malik Beasley has also been white hot from the field, and he’ll see a nice usage boost if Russell continues to be out. Anthony Edwards has really been coming on the past few weeks as well, as his role has increased with Russell on the shelf. Ricky Rubio would also be a solid value play if Russell were to miss this game tonight as well, but keep in mind there is still definite blowout risk with this Lakers squad even without AD.

5-star play: LeBron James, Karl-Anthony Towns

4-star play: Malik Beasley, Anthony Edwards, Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, Dennis Schroder

Deeper Value: Ricky Rubio, Kyle Kuzma

GPP Sleeper: Dennis Schroder, Kyle Kuzma

Brooklyn Nets @ Phoenix Suns

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: TBD

This is the game we’re going to want to target tonight as it should be competitive and high scoring as neither of these teams play much defense. Kevin Durant has already been ruled out so that opens up a ton of usage for Kyrie Irving and James Harden and I could even expect one of them to sit being on the 2nd half of a B2B. I’d think that it could be Kyrie sitting, which would make Harden a core play. Joe Harris is also in play as well, especially if Irving is out as well. Jeff Green should also play heavy minutes, along with DeAndre Jordan. If one of Kyrie or Harden misses this game as well it’ll open up a ton of value for Bruce Brown and Timothy Luwawu Cabbarrot.

For the Suns, Devin Booker has the best matchup of any of the Suns here, as the Nets don’t play defense against any position really. Chris Paul gets a great matchup as well, as the Nets duo of Harden and Kyrie in their back court open them up to a lot of FPs being scored. DeAndre Ayton also has a great matchup here, especially if Jordan comes off the bench again as he’ll have a serious height advantage on Green Mikal Bridges is in play here as well, and if Crowder and Saric both miss once again tonight that’ll put Frank Kaminsky in play as well. This should be a competitive game so there are a few options I do like for this one, we just need some more news on the Nets side of the ball

5-star play: James Harden, Devin Booker, Kyrie Irving

4-star play: Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan, Mikal Bridges, Joe Harris

Deeper Value: Frank Kaminsky, Bruce Brown, Timothy Luwawu-Cabbarrot

GPP Sleeper: Bruce Brown, Joe Harris

NBA Lock of the Day:

James Harden (FD: $11,000 DK: $10,800)

This is more of a feeling play, as KD has already been ruled out, and I can see Kyrie sitting on the 2nd half of a B2B, especially after playing heavy minutes last night. The Suns are allowing a ton of FPs to opposing SGs, as Booker isn’t known for his defense, and this is a game where Harden can go for 70+ tonight which could end up breaking the slate, especially if Kyrie is out along with Durant.
