Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! Members had a ton of success using the Full Court Press along with various articles and tools that DFS Army provides last season, so we are glad to be back with another year of the all-inclusive article. You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

I want to give a quick shoutout to VIP Member “TheSoprano12” on their $100,000 win earlier this season!! Better go buy a Boban jersey after that one!

Early Slate:

Los Angeles Clippers @ Milwaukee Bucks

Vegas Total: 233.5

Vegas Spread: Mil -1.5

We’ll kick this Sunday slate off with an island game, so if you want to play this one you’ll have to run some showdown lineups! Starting with the Clippers, the obvious two you’ll want from this team are Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Kawhi is coming off a 53.25 fantasy point outing last time out against the Grizzlies, he will likely draw a lot of Giannis on defense, but that’s not something I would worry all that much about with all the switching the Bucks have done as of late. George struggled on that Memphis road trip but has the skill set to give the Bucks trouble here. I love him for tournaments and have no issue with him in cash games either. The rest of this team is a little bit harder to dissect, Lou Williams has been a shell of himself this season but has seen his minutes come up as of late. When George and Kawhi are both active, Lou still has a pretty healthy 25.5% usage rate and 1.01 fantasy point per minute, but that’s due to him running that second unit. I don’t have a problem getting to him on a short slate and a great pace matchup, there should be plenty of fantasy production to go around. Serge Ibaka makes sense as well, they’ll need his size out there to help with Lopez and Portis down low, he has the ability to get hot from three as well. Then the combo of Nic Batum and Marcus Morris are GPP options, Batum has been more consistent but we know the upside on Morris if he starts knocking down some shots. From the Bucks, Jrue Holiday is expected to return here after being out for 10 games due to Covid. I’m kind of expecting him to be somewhat limited, so probably a guy I’ll stay away from here. Giannis Antetokounmpo is right there with Joel Embiid as the MVP frontrunners in my book, so he’s obviously matchup proof, but the Kawhi and George defense is always a tough one. People may shy away from him due to the matchup and Jrue being back but even with Jrue in the starting lineup Giannis is looking at a 34.8% usage rate and 1.67 fantasy points per minute, he’s an elite play no matter how you spin it. Khris Middleton has at least 48 DraftKings points in two of his last three and a guy I’m good with him in all formats. Donte DiVincenzo dropped a 50 burger on the Pelicans in probably his best game as a pro. I don’t mind going back to the well with him, but I think people chase that game a bit and goes a little over-owned. His rates will come down slightly with Jrue back, but nothing all that noteworthy. Bobby Portis started last game and saw 31 minutes, I would expect him to go back to the bench with Holiday back in the lineup, but he’s still a nice GPP play along with Brook Lopez in this one.

5-star play: Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Giannis Antetokounmpo

4-star play: Khris Middleton, Donte DiVincenzo, Serge Ibaka

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Lou Williams, Nic Batum, Marcus Morris, Jrue Holiday, Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis

Main Slate:

Washington Wizards @ Boston Celtics

Vegas Total: 231.0

Vegas Spread: Bos -6.5

We’ll kick the main slate off with the Wizards, Russell Westbrook seems to have found his footing as of late, he now has at least 50 DraftKings points in seven straight games and is a guy I’ll go right back to. Bradley Beal was grossly underpriced yesterday but sees a slight increase in this one. I like going back to him here as well, he’s been a consistent producer all season long. The rest of this team is going to be more tournament darts than anything, guys like Rui Hachimura and Davis Bertans would be my favorite flyers, but not anyone that I’m looking to prioritize. From the Celtics, Jaylen Brown comes in as questionable here so keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates, I’m going to operate under the assumption that he’s in for this one. Washington is the fastest-paced team in the league while Westbrook is healthy so this is a nice spot to target the Celtics in. Jayson Tatum has had a bad last two games, he’s shooting about 20% in them, but I love this as a bounce-back spot for him and will be overweight the field hoping they’re box score chasing. I don’t love the price tag on Brown, but I get wanting to go with him here to get more exposure to this game, I would rather just find the $400 to get up to Tatum. Kemba Walker looked really good against the Pacers last time out and is a guy I like here, Westbrook has been a turnstile on defense. The rest of this team is more tournament options than anything, I don’t mind Daniel Theis against a pretty weak Washington frontcourt, however.

5-star play: Russell Westbrook, Bradley Beal, Jayson Tatum

4-star play: Kemba Walker, Daniel Theis

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Rui Hachimura, Davis Bertans, Jaylen Brown, Daniel Theis

New York Knicks @ Detroit Pistons

Vegas Total: 211.5

Vegas Spread: Nyk -1.5

The implied total on this one is UGLAYYYYY, but we’ll start with the Knicks regardless. Elfrid Payton comes into this one as questionable, keep an eye on our Breaking News Feed for updates surrounding him but I’ll operate under the assumption that he is out again. Derrick Rose got the start in his place yesterday and played 38 minutes on his way to 42 DraftKings points. I have no issue going right back to him at under $6k on DraftKings. RJ Barrett had a big night as well going for 36 DraftKings points, as long as he’s under $6k I’ll have interest in him, a solid matchup as well. Julius Randle had 57.5 DraftKings points last night and has a great matchup here as well, I might have trouble paying for him over a guy like Jayson Tatum considering the matchup, however. Then you can round this team off with GPP guys like Immanuel Quickley and Alec Burks. From the Pistons, Dennis Smith Jr. seems to have found his footing a bit and now has at least 25 DraftKings points in three straight games. I like going right back to him in this one as he’s a similar price tag to Saben Lee, but ultimately it seems like the Pistons are going to play the hot hand in this backcourt. Jerami Grant has been fine as of late, but I don’t love the price tag, if he was closer to $7k I would be more interested. Mason Plumlee had a stinker of a game last time out but was weighed down due to foul trouble a bit. The Knicks shouldn’t really have much of an answer for him down low so I like getting back to him. Lastly, Saddiq Bey and Josh Jackson are fine tournament options but I don’t see a reason to force it in a low total game like this one.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Derrick Rose, RJ Barrett, Julius Randle, Mason Plumlee, Jerami Grant

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Immanuel Quickley, Alec Burks, Dennis Smith Jr., Saddiq Bey, Josh Jackson

Memphis Grizzlies @ Houston Rockets

Vegas Total: 222

Vegas Spread: Mem -3.5

Starting with the Grizzlies, Ja Morant has a really intriguing price tag here, he scored just 28 fantasy points in this game earlier this season but I like taking a shot on him in GPPs at the very least due to his ceiling. Jonas Valanciunas should be able to do whatever he wants down low in this one, the Rockets don’t really have a true center at the moment with Cousins now out of town, so he’s going to just be flat out bigger than anyone they throw at him. Kyle Anderson isn’t a guy I generally get to because of how boring a player he is, but you can make a case for tournaments if you really want to, I hate the price tag. Then Brandon Clarke and Dillon Brooks are fine tournament options as well but my interest lies in Morant and Valanciunas from the Grizzlies. From the Rockets, Victor Oladipo will be out here, so we can run some numbers on the rest of these guys with Christian Wood, DeMarcus Cousins, and Victor Oladipo off the court this season:

  • John Wall – 35.3% usage rate; 1.25 fpm
  • Eric Gordon – 27.5% usage rate; 1.0 fpm
  • Jae’sean Tate – 15.0% usage rate; 0.87 fpm
  • Danuel House Jr. – 16.3% usage rate; 0.83 fpm

These would be the four guys I would have the most interest in from this team with my favorites being Wall and Gordon. Tate and House will be needed in the frontcourt, and you won’t catch me playing PJ Tucker, the ceiling on him is non-existent.

5-star play: Jonas Valanciunas, John Wall

4-star play: Ja Morant, Eric Gordon

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Kyle Anderson, Brandon Clarke, Dillon Brooks, Jae’sean Tate, Danuel House Jr.

Golden State Warriors @ Los Angeles Lakers

Vegas Total: 222

Vegas Spread: Lal -3.0

Starting with the Warriors, Steph Curry struggled a bit in this game earlier this season going for just 39 DraftKings points. He’s always in play for tournaments due to his immense upside, but that’s about it for me today. Draymond Green is on another level right now, coming off a 61 point fantasy outing against Charlotte where he had a 19 assist triple-double. The price is getting up there on him but it’s hard to argue with the numbers he’s putting up. Kelly Oubre and Andrew Wiggins are GPP guys, with my preference being Oubre, I just don’t think Wiggins is very good at basketball. Lastly, James Wiseman probably won’t crack 20 minutes again, but he is effective while he’s out there. That said, I don’t see myself getting to him, give me someone who’s going to see more run in this price range. From the Lakers, LeBron James has at least 60 DraftKings points in two of his last three and should do whatever he wants in this one. His price is climbing but the production warrants it. Kyle Kuzma’s consistent production has fallen off over his last couple of games, but his minutes were down as well, I think you can go back to him here especially if people will be off him. Montrezl Harrell has at least 33 DraftKings points in three of his last four games and is the higher upside guy between him and Kuzma. Harrell is your tournament guy while Kuzma is more of a cash option. Lastly, Dennis Schroder returned last game to play 32 minutes, so it doesn’t appear he’ll be limited at all, he’s a fine GPP option and has at least 30 fantasy points in back-to-back games.

5-star play: LeBron James

4-star play: Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Kelly Oubre, Montrezl Harrell, Kyle Kuzma, Dennis Schroder

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Andrew Wiggins, Montrezl Harrell, Dennis Schroder

Atlanta Hawks @ Miami Heat

Vegas Total: 221.0

Vegas Spread: Mia -6.0

Starting with the Hawks, Trae Young comes into this one as questionable, so another guy you’ll want to watch for news on. I’m going to assume he’s playing just for the sake of breaking down the Hawks.  He broke his 50 point fantasy streak last time out going for 36 DraftKings points, I don’t love the matchup but we know what he can do when he gets hot, so he’s in play for GPPs. Clint Capela looked really good last game grabbing 21 rebounds against the Thunder. I don’t think he’ll have that much luck today against Bam and company. John Collins is always in play for GPPs due to the upside he can provide, he has at least 30 DraftKings points in three of his last four games. Cam Reddish is doubtful here so Kevin Huerter should see all the minutes he can handle and Danilo Gallinari should get his full minutes as well, I like them both for GPPs. Lastly, Tony Snell showed you why I never play him last game, I don’t care if you told me he’s going to play 40 minutes, he’s the PJ Tucker of the Hawks. From the Heat, Tyler Herro is listed as questionable here, so keep an eye on that Breaking News Feed for updates surrounding him. I’ll operate under the assumption that he’s out for the sake of this breakdown. Jimmy Butler matches up really well here and is a guy I love getting to in this spot. The Hawks won’t have an answer for him on defense, he’s dropped at least 59 DraftKings points in back-to-back games. Bam Adebayo has been really consistent as of late and has at least 43 DraftKings points in seven straight games, and is a guy I’m good with getting to here. Kendrick Nunn saw his minutes come down last game with Goran Dragic back in the lineup, I still think you can make a case for him in tournaments if Herro is out again here. Speaking of Dragic, he got his minutes back over 30 last time out and dropped 37 DraftKings points, I like him a lot in this spot. Then guys like Kelly Olynyk and Duncan Robinson are always in play for tournaments for me due to their ability to get a bucket.

5-star play: Jimmy Butler

4-star play: Trae Young, Clint Capela, John Collins, Bam Adebayo, Goran Dragic

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Kevin Huerter, Danilo Gallinari, Kendrick Nunn, Kelly Olynyk, Duncan Robinson

Phoenix Suns @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Vegas Total: 225.5

Vegas Spread: Pho -10.0

Starting with the Suns, Devin Booker was fine last game and gave us a game we’ve kind of come to expect with Paul in the picture. I do like this matchup for this team, but when the Suns are at full health I have a tough time getting to anyone a whole lot. Chris Paul has at least 50 DraftKings points in back-to-back games and should have no issue putting up points in a hurry in this one, but I worry about the Wolves ability to keep this one close. DeAndre Ayton has been pretty unimpressive this season but he should do what he wants in this matchup and has at least 33 DraftKings points in four of his last five games. Lastly, these wings like Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder are fine filler pieces to round out the back-end of your roster but not anyone you should make as a priority. From the Wolves, Malik Beasley and D’Angelo Russell will continue to be out for this one, here is how the rest of the team grades out with them off the court:

  • Karl-Anthony Towns – 33.8% usage rate; 1.52 fpm
  • Anthony Edwards – 32.7% usage rate; 1.05 fpm
  • Ricky Rubio – 16.6% usage rate; 0.94 fpm
  • Jaylen Nowell – 23.4% usage rate; 0.93 fpm

I had a bunch of Towns and Nowell yesterday and they performed pretty well. The price tag on Nowell came up a little bit but he’s a guy the Timberwolves like, he saw 26 minutes on his way to 30 fantasy points yesterday and looks like another nice value option today. Jarred Vanderbilt has at least 32 DraftKings points in two straight games and is a guy I don’t mind for GPPs, but he’s pretty volatile. I don’t mind running Towns and Edwards even if it’s a blowout it looks like they’re going to get their run regardless. Towns saw 36 minutes against the Bucks where they lost by 27 and saw 32 minutes last night where they lost by 16.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Devin Booker, Chris Paul, DeAndre Ayton, Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards, Jaylen Nowell

Deeper Value: Jaylen Nowell

GPP Sleeper: Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, Jarred Vanderbilt, Ricky Rubio

Charlotte Hornets @ Sacramento Kings

Vegas Total: 237.5

Vegas Spread: Sac -1.0

Starting with the Hornets, I love this spot in a huge pace-up game for them against pretty easily the worst defense in the league. LaMelo Ball has three straight games with 41 DraftKings points and is a guy I like a lot in this one. Devonte’ Graham is listed as doubtful here so we can go right back to the well on Terry Rozier who is crushing right now, he’s come down to Earth a bit over his past three games and the price has come up, however. I don’t mind getting to Gordon Hayward here either he’s been pretty consistent this season and with Graham out it will help that cause. Lastly, Cody Zeller is questionable here after missing the last game. I was all over PJ Washington in that game and he had one of his better games of the season. They started him at the five and went small, if they do that again here I love me some Washington in this matchup. From the Kings, Tyrese Haliburton will miss this game, so let’s run some numbers with him and Hassan Whiteside off the court:

  • De’Aaron Fox – 37.6% usage rate; 1.21 fpm
  • Buddy Hield – 20.2% usage rate; 0.86 fpm
  • Marvin Bagley – 22.9% usage rate; 1.02 fpm
  • Richaun Holmes – 14.7% usage rate – 0.95 fpm

These would be the four main guys for me on this team along with Harrison Barnes who is getting huge minutes and producing nicely over his past two games. The Hornets are a terrible team when it comes to rebounding and will only be worse if Zeller needs to sit, so these big men may be worth a look here.

5-star play: LaMelo Ball, De’Aaron Fox

4-star play: Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward, PJ Washinton, Marvin Bagley, Richaun Holmes, Harrison Barnes

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Terry Rozier, PJ Washington, Buddy Hield,
