Martinsville Speedway

Martinsville is a tight, half-mile track with low banked corners. It is the shortest track on the NASCAR schedule and for years was one of the craziest, carnage-filled races. This is no longer the case with long green flag runs becoming normal. Long run speed has become vital at a track where it used to be about track position and restart ability. This is a major factor in why Martin Truex has become the man to beat every time at Martinsville. Tire wear hasn’t been much of an issue in recent years either although Goodyear has brought a new compound for 2020 races. We saw numerous teams miss the setup last race here with no practice and I expect that to be the case again this week. The difference in being hooked up and fast and being way off at Martinsville isn’t very much which could again result in elite drivers being a lap down early.

DraftKings

There are 500 lapsat Martinsville so the are tons of Dominator points to be had. It will be crucial to pick the main dominators. Without them, you will likely struggle to cash a lineup. For this race I would recommend an “at least two” dominator setting for lineups but really look to get three top tier drivers in lineups when you can. Normally we would shy away from the ultra punts but I think there is some viability to playing a driver like JJ Yeley this week to save the extra salary. He could get you around 20 points maybe 25-30 if we get some carnage. More importanly it will get you a 3rd potential dominator. You will sacrifice for the dominators as much as you can.

Favorite DK Play: Martin Truex Jr.

Dominators mean everything this week and MTJ has been one of the best at doing so here the last few years. Starts 2nd and is in a must win situation. Look for him to try and get the lead and keep it as much as possible.

FanDuel

On FanDuel we will play very similar to DK. We want to hit on two dominators atleast and try for a 3rd. A play like Ryan Blaney who can add some place diff points plus potentially dominate is a great option. Aside from the main dominator threats that we already know of, there are quite a few really good mid tier value plays out there. We are also looking at some super value plays here like on DK but more in the area of Preece, Lajoie, and Ty Dillon on FD. Drivers who normally wouldn’t get a ton of attention should get more this week if it means getting more from your top tier dominators.

Favorite FD Play: Ryan Blaney and Kyle Busch

They are basically the same play. They are priced the same and have similar place diff potential but also the ability to dominate and rack up some extra points. Both drivers have optimal potential without lead but also slate breaking potential if they do.
