Bristol

This week the Xfinity and Truck Series make their way to Bristol Motor Speedway. Bristol is an ultra high banked, fast half-mile track with tight racing action. We will see the same amount of PJ1 traction compound put down as the Xfinity and Cup Series cars raced with earlier this year. This is of massive importance because the main groove moved to the bottom lane for all races earlier this year. This had not been the case for the last several years when drivers migrated to the top of the track to carry momentum in the corners. These races can be a bit chaotic at times and this can lead to crazy things happening like Timmy Hill finishing 7th. Be sure to keep an open mind when creating lineups for these races.

Xfinity Series

Dominator points will be vital this week as this race has the most laps of any race all year long. I will be looking to play at least two doms but definitely trying to get a third where I can. 30o laps are a lot for the Xfinity Series and this makes hitting the dominators more important than any other race. Because of this, I will be focusing heavily on the drivers I believe will lead large chunks of this race. Allgaier, Gragson, and Haley all looked great here earlier in the year and should be top contenders this time around. A couple of notable driver changes for this race are Gray Gaulding returning to the 07 and Anthony Alfredo will be back driving the 21 for RCR. Both drivers should offer great value and be major factors in lineup building.

RACE INFO

Favorite Xfinity Series Play: Justin Allgaier

Allgaier has led 131, 156, 138 laps in the last 3 races here at Bristol. He was the best car here earlier in the year and he should be considered the favorite to win this week as well. He is carrying incredible momentum after sweeping the two races at Richmond last week. JA is in full playoff point collection mode as well so I expect him to attack this race from the start. Biggest dominator threat in the race.

Truck Series

Last year I had talked about how calm the truck races at Bristol had been with five of six races having five cautions or less. Then all hell broke loose with 10 natural cautions, 12 total with stages. You will want at least two dominators in every lineup and since we have some big place diff. plays in this race I would probably skip trying to focus on getting three race leaders unless the pricing works out perfectly. The notables starting from the rear for this race are Ross Chastain who will start 36th and Parker Kligerman starting 37th. They are both going to be super high price-wise but will offer fantastic upsides. Because it is the first race of the playoffs, all the playoff drivers will start 1-10 with last year’s race dominators Enfinger and Moffitt starting 1st and 2nd. Both will be top dominator threats for this race and favorites for the win.

Quick Facts

Date: September 16th

Race: Thursday 7:30 pm ET.

Laps: 200  Stages: 55/110/200

Drivers: 38

Defending Champion: Brett Moffitt

Favorite Truck Series Play: Trevor Bayne

This is my favorite play of the month or possibly the year. He was roughly 25% owned last week from this same spot and has been fairly reasonable price-wise. I expect his ownership to drop even more with the field of drivers we have and I will be going ultra-heavy on him. IN his last 7 Cup Series starts at Bristol he has finishes of 15th, 5th, 12th, 11th, 7th, and 11th. If there is one track Bayne is good at, this is it.
