Indiana Pacers @ Houston Rockets

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

We kick this four-game slate off with the Indiana Pacers and boy are they a mess. T.J. Warren has already been ruled out here while Malcolm Brogdon, Myles Turner, and Victor Oladipo are all questionable. The good thing about them is that this is the early game so we should have confirmation of a starting lineup and who is all active. I don’t see the Pacers resting or taking it easy on the guys that play as they are in a three-way battle in the middle of the Eastern Conference with the Heat and Sixers. Aaron Holiday and TJ McConnell would become great plays if any combination of Brogdon and Oladipo are out while Justin Holiday should be vaulted into the starting lineup with Warren already ruled out. With Myles Turner out, there really isn’t a great option behind him, Jakarr Sampson and Doug McDermott may be your best option as the Pacers likely go small to match up with the Rockets any way. From the Rockets, it sounds like James Harden will be active here while Russell Westbrook gets a day of rest on the back end of this back-to-back. The Rockets are pretty locked into their playoff seed so I’m not sure how hard they’ll push these guys, but Harden will be a usage monster for the minutes that he does play. With Westbrook off the court, this season Harden has a massive 43.8% usage rate with 1.7 fantasy points per minute. Robert Covington continues to play great and seeing a bigger rebound equity as the Rockets go small, he’s a solid play tonight. Austin Rivers and Ben McLemore will likely fill in the minutes for Westbrook and make sense as GPP mid-range plays. Lastly, Jeff Green has been playing great basketball but with Danuel House back he’s more of a GPP play at best.

5-star play: James Harden

4-star play: Malcolm Brogdon, Robert Covington, Danuel House, TBD

Deeper Value: Jakarr Sampson, Doug McDermott

GPP Sleeper: Aaron Holiday, Justin Holiday, Austin Rivers, Ben McLemore

Toronto Raptors @ Philadelphia 76ers

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

This game really doesn’t mean a whole lot for either team, the Sixers could move up but with the injuries that they’ve had with their stars, I see them just throwing in the white flag and hoping they can get healthy for a potential round two matchup. From the Raptors, the only guy with an injury tag is Serge Ibaka but it will be interesting to see if Nurse gives his guys full run here with nothing to play for. My guess would be no, as Pascal Siakam, the only big name who played last game only saw 28 minutes against the Bucks. We’ll have to watch for news on them but if we don’t get anything, I’m operating under the assumption that the starters get 25-30 minutes. This would make guys like Kyle Lowry, Pascal Siakam, and Fred VanVleet a little overpriced while Norman Powell and Chris Boucher looked great last game and could see some extra run. From the Sixers, I would assume Joel Embiid joins Ben Simmons on the inactive list while Tobias Harris and Al Horford return here. Both of these guys are firmly in play with Embiid and Simmons out. Josh Richardson is another guy to have interest in, he was rested last night which makes me think he could get a full workload tonight and is coming off what might have been his best game of the season. Lastly, Shake Milton is a guy that I want to have exposure to and really like here but he just hasn’t bee all that impressive lately. He should get around 30 minutes and you would think with these guys out that he would take a bigger step forward, he’s a tad too expensive for me to go full speed ahead on.

5-star play: Tobias Harris

4-star play: Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, Norman Powell, Al Horford, Josh Richardson, Shake Milton

Deeper Value: TBD

GPP Sleeper: Kyle Lowry, Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, Shake Milton

Miami Heat @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

The Heat will try and win this game as they’re right there with the Pacers in the middle of the Eastern Conference jocking for playoff position. The Thunder are in the same situation so I would expect two teams trying to win here in what should be one of the more competitive games on the slate. Jimmy Butler makes for a great play as he’s coming off a 50 burger in his last game and scored 44 DraftKings points against the Thunder earlier this season. Bam Adebayo has been up and down in the bubble but if I’m going to be paying for people tonight it’s going to be players that have something to play for so Adebayo will certainly make my pool. Tyler Herro and Goran Dragic are nice secondary plays here as it sounds like Kendrick Nunn’s return to the team may have to wait until the team’s finale on Friday, Dragic has been playing great basketball. The Thunder are a team we’ll have to wait for an injury report on as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Steven Adams, and Danilo Gallinari all sat out last game. I would expect they return here so I’m going to operate as if that is true. Chris Paul played just 24 minutes last game but with the rest of the starters not playing, that much wasn’t surprising. I don’t love the price here but he’s certainly in play. Gilgeous-Alexander dropped 38.75 DraftKings points on the Heat earlier this season and makes for a very solid cash play with GPP upside at his price tag. Steven Adams saw a massive price jump and I’m not really sure why but I won’t be paying that on him. Danilo Gallinari’s minutes have been down as of late, he’s more of a GPP option until we get to the playoffs and those minutes return to normal. The return of Steven Adams and Nerlens Noel could close the book on Darius Bazley who has been playing well, he’s only in play if these guys are ruled out.

5-star play: Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Chris Paul, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

4-star play: Tyler Herro, Goran Dragic

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Steven Adams, Danio Gallinari, Duncan Robinson

Los Angeles Clippers @ Denver Nuggets

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

This game should mean something to the Nuggets at the very least, they can leapfrog the Clippers if they win out and Clippers lose out – the Clippers last game will be against the Thunder so it’s certainly attainable. Starting with LA, Paul George is currently questionable after he was rested last game, I would expect him to play here. He’s scored at least 40 DraftKings points in four of his last five games and makes for a good cash play here. Kawhi Leonard has been one of the more consistent players in the bubble which shouldn’t surprise anyone, he’s a great play as well. With Montrezl Harrell still out and the Clippers likely needing a big body to help contain Nikola Jokic, Ivica Zubac is the man. Zubac has been playing great as of late scoring at least 30 DraftKings points in four straight games and being a rebounding machine. He’s a nice play and an elite GPP option. Lastly, Lou Williams and Marcus Morris make for secondary GPP options if you need them to fill out the back end of your roster. From the Nuggets, you can beat the Clippers down low meaning Nikola Jokic should be looked at here. He is averaging 43.8 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Clips this season and I like him a good deal here. Michael Porter Jr. finally came back down to Earth last game and he doesn’t see any easier of a matchup here as he’ll likely get stuck with Kawhi or George guarding him, he’s more of a GPP option. Jamaal Murray’s minutes came way down last game but I would think they want to get his legs under him before the playoffs, I like him for GPPs at the very least and is a fringe cash play. Lastly, you can make a case for Jerami Grant in GPPs due to the number of minutes he’s been playing.

5-star play: Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Nikola Jokic

4-star play: Ivica Zubac, Michael Porter Jr., Jamaal Murray

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Lou Williams, Marcus Morris, Jerami Grant
