Memphis Grizzlies @ Utah Jazz

Vegas Total: 225.0

Vegas Spread: Utah -4.5

Starting with the Grizzlies, Jonas Valanciunas had a nice bounce-back game last time out and played 30 minutes. The minutes feel very secure here, as the Grizzlies will need his size down low to battle with Rudy Gobert. He’s averaging 32.8 DraftKings points per game against the Jazz in three games this season. That’s not as much as you’d like, but with Jaren Jackson also out it should solidify those minutes that can be volatile for him. Brandon Clarke may be my favorite option from this Grizzlies team. As I mentioned, Jackson will miss the rest of this season meaning Clarke should see an increase in playing time and productivity. With Winslow and Jackson off the court this season Clarke has a 1.11 fantasy points per minute. I love the price on him here, I’ll have a good amount of him. Ja Morant was pretty disappointing in their last game, this is a tough matchup for him and his price went up, he’s more of a GPP option for me. The last guy I would have interest in from the Grizzlies would be Dillon Brooks who is seeing 30+ minutes on a nightly basis. From the Jazz, Jordan Clarkson finally saw a price boost and completely dudded in his last game. He’s their bench scoring guy who can come in and put up points in a hurry, but he’s a lot harder to play at this price tag. He’s more of a GPP guy now. Donovan Mitchell is averaging 40 DraftKings points per game in three games against the Grizzlies this season. He’s struggling a bit without having that secondary scoring option with Bojan out, but he’s priced nicely here. This is a spot that Rudy Gobert has crushed this season, he’s averaging over 45 DraftKings points per game in three games against the Grizzlies, it’s hard not to like him at this price tag. Royce O’Neale and Mike Conley have looked pretty solid to start this restart, both are solid secondary options if you fall on them. Lastly, Joe Ingles is getting the minutes but he’s just not producing all that much, he’s more of a GPP guy.

5-star play: Brandon Clarke, Rudy Gobert

4-star play: Jonas Valanciunas, Ja Morant, Donovan Mitchell, Royce O’Neale, Mike Conley

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Jordan Clarkson, Joe Ingles, Dillon Brooks

Philadelphia 76ers @ Washington Wizards

Vegas Total: 231.0

Vegas Spread: Phi -10.5

Starting with the Sixers, Joel Embiid is priced right where he should be here in a great matchup with the Wizards. He should be able to do whatever he wants against a Wizards team that is funneling big games to big men. Ben Simmons straight-up looked awful on Monday night against the Spurs, however, if you’re looking for a matchup to bounce back in, look no further. He’s priced where he should be, but he’s firmly in play in cash and GPPs. Al Horford finally got some decent minutes last game, but I just don’t trust Brett Brown to give him consistent minutes especially at this price tag. I do however like the price on Tobias Harris he’s been playing great and worth a look in both cash and GPPs. Lastly, Shake Milton and Josh Richardson had bounce-back games last game. It helped that Ben Simmons was in foul trouble, but I still think you can make a case for GPPs especially if this one gets out of hand for the Wizards. From the Wizards, Shabazz Napier was moved to bench last game and had his best game of the restart. I do like him more with that second unit where he doesn’t need to battle for usage with guys like Bryant and Brown. Ish Smith slid into that starting lineup and saw his hot streak come to a stretch, I really think the point guard you want from this team is the one who doesn’t start. Thomas Bryant has been playing great basketball as of late and a matchup with Embiid doesn’t necessarily scare me, he still feels too cheap. Rui Hachimura just hasn’t shown enough of a ceiling for me to have a whole lot of interest. Lastly, Troy Brown has played well in his last two games and still feels slightly underpriced as well.

5-star play: Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Thomas Bryant

4-star play: Tobias Harris, Troy Brown

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Shake Milton, Josh Richardson, Shabazz Napier, Ish Smith

Denver Nuggets @ San Antonio Spurs

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Nuggets, Gary Harris and Will Barton are both out here while Jamaal Murray is questionable. I’m operating under the assumption that Murray will either be out or limited here. Nikola Jokic dropped a triple-double last time out and gets a nice matchup against the Spurs here. He scored 49.5 DraftKings points on them earlier this season and a guy that I’ll have interest in here for sure. Monte Morris saw a bunch of minutes last time out and performed nicely in them. If Murray is out I like going right back to him here, point guards against the Spurs is a real thing and something I’ve been attacking all season long. Michael Porter Jr. went absolutely ballistic last game on his way to 59.5 DraftKings points. I doubt he does something like that again, but you can see why he was a first round talent. I don’t love the price on him, however, making him more of a GPP option. Lastly, you can make a case for Paul Millsap as a secondary option here. From the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan has gone for at least 45 DraftKings points in two of his last three games and without Aldridge out there the offense is running through him. That said, I rarely get to him because of his limited ceiling and this isn’t exactly the greatest matchup. Dejounte Murray should be around 30 minutes again here, but who knows what Pop is going to do on any given night. I’ll leave Murray for GPPs due to his inconsistencies, but I do like his upside. Jakob Poeltl will have his hands full here in an extremely tough matchup against Jokic. He hasn’t done anything that’s impressed me so far and I don’t want to pay that price tag for him. Lastly, Derrick White is probably the guy you want in the backcourt over Murray for cash games, he’s scored at least 35 DraftKings points in two of his last three games. One side note, if Patty Mills is out again here, Lonnie Walker becomes a great value play but if he’s in I’ll likely fade him or just have a sprinkle in GPPs.

5-star play: Nikola Jokic

4-star play: Monte Morris, Michael Porter Jr., DeMar DeRozan, Derrick White

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Michael Porter Jr., Dejounte Murray, Jakob Poeltl

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Los Angeles Lakers

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Thunder,  Dennis Schroeder left the bubble and won’t be back for this game meaning a boost for the other guards in this backcourt. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was fortunate to hit 5x value last game after he played three bad quarters of basketball. That said, I do like his price for cash games and GPPs likewise. Chris Paul gets a matchup with his bud LeBron, I expect him to come ready to play here. He’s a little expensive but I do like his upside in GPPs. Lastly, Steven Adams is a fine play in a tough matchup against Davis and company, however, I’m not sure there’s much of a ceiling here. From the Lakers, Anthony Davis, LeBron James, and Kyle Kuzma all come in without a “Q” next to there name for the first time which is a sigh of relief. Both James and Davis are elite plays again here even with the stellar defense that the Thunder play. The Lakers will be without Avery Bradley for the rest of the season as he as decided to sit out due to Coronavirus concerns. He was playing 24.2 minutes per game this season and played 27.6 minutes per game over their last ten games. He was a key part of their rotation and will open up minutes for the ancillary pieces. Danny Green has been pretty bad since the restart, to a point where I almost prefer Dion Waiters over him. Both are fine value plays but nothing that jumps off the page to me.

5-star play: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Anthony Davis, LeBron James

4-star play: Chris Paul, Danillo Gallinari, Kyle Kuzma, Steven Adams

Deeper Value: Danny Green, Dion Waiters

GPP Sleeper: Steven Adams, Kyle Kuzma

Toronto Raptors @ Orlando Magic

Vegas Total: 224.0

Vegas Spread: Tor -6.5

We’ll start with the Raptors, Pascal Siakam has been less than impressive to start this restart and saw a price bump since his last game. He’s a fine option for GPPs because he has the upside, but he’s too expensive for cash games for me. Kyle Lowry came back down to Earth last game but has played 35 minutes in back to back games, he’s going to continue to see big minutes like this, he’s hard not to like. Fred VanVleet has been the guy you’ve wanted from Toronto, he’s playing exceptional to start the restart, he got a price boost but is definitely worth a shot in GPPs at the very least. Serge Ibaka hasn’t been getting big minutes or doing a ton with the minutes that he’s gotten, can’t say I’m confident in going with him here. Lastly, OG Anunoby has been getting big minutes as well and you could do worse in this price range. From the Magic, Nikola Vucevic has been one of the more consistent options at center in the past few games, even when he doesn’t get a ton of minutes he produces. However, the minutes aren’t anything I’m worried about, as he played 33 yesterday, I like him here. Aaron Gordon’s minutes should become much more secure after Jonathan Isaac suffered that nasty injury over the weekend. He’s still priced a bit high for me, but he makes sense for GPPs. Terrence Ross will always be in play for GPPs due to his ability to put up raw points, he’s one of the better bench scorers in the league. On the other hand, Evan Fournier is the safer play of the two because of his consistency.

5-star play: Nikola Vucevic

4-star play: Pascal Siakam, Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, Aaron Gordon, Evan Fournier

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: OG Anunoby, Terrence Ross, Aaron Gordon

Brooklyn Nets @ Boston Celtics

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Nets, you’ll have to keep an eye on who is all active here. I would assume Jarrett Allen and Caris LeVert are back here as they were resting more for rest than anything, but it’s something to monitor. The scrubs played well against the Bucks so if they’re going to be without their big guys some names to watch are Luwawu-Cabarrot and Chris Chiozza, both played well yesterday. Keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates on the Nets. From the Celtics, Jayson Tatum came back to Earth last game and still has a pretty high price tag, that said this is an elite spot for him against a week defense, I love him for GPPs at the very least. Kemba Walker will sit this game after playing yesterday meaning more usage and shots for Tatum and guys like Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward, and Marcus Smart. All these guys are all solid plays here against a poor Nets team. Lastly, Daniel Theis makes a lot of sense as well, centers against the Nets is a real thing.

5-star play: TBD from the Nets, Jayson Tatum

4-star play: TBD from the Nets, Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward, Marcus Smart, Daniel Theis

Deeper Value: TBD

GPP Sleeper: TBD from the Nets

NBA Lock of the Day: Brandon Clarke (DK – $4.6k; FD – $4.9k)

Zach Collins was a bit of a disappointment yesterday along with the rest of that game, but back at it today! I love Brandon Clarke today, it’s not the matchup necessarily as that is actually a pretty tough one as the Jazz are one of the better defensive units in the league. However, the Grizzlies got news that Jaren Jackson will need to miss the rest of the season which opens the door for Clarke to slide in and grab some additional minutes. As mentioned above, with Winslow and Jackson off the court this season Clarke has a 1.11 fantasy points per minute. I love the price on him here, I’ll have a good amount of him. Tweet me (@MadnessDFS) your lock predictions and if your player gets over 6.5x I’ll give you a shoutout on Twitter, let’s have some fun with this!
