Brooklyn Nets @ Milwaukee Bucks

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

We don’t have a total on this game yet because I bet we get news that the Bucks end up sitting some guys after what the Nets have already done. We’ll start with the Nets, as it’s the ugliest team I may have ever seen. They’ve ruled out Caris LeVert, Joe Harris, and Jarrett Allen here to go along with all the guys they were already missing. They’re going to be extremely short-handed which is why we saw Tyler Johnson get a price bump all the way up into the $6k’s on DraftKings. If I had to guess, we’ll see a starting lineup of Chris Chiozza, Tyler Johnson, Garrett Temple, Rodions Kurucs, and Donta Hall… but that’s just a guess it really doesn’t matter who they start, they’re all pretty terrible. At the moment, I would recommend keeping an eye out on the starting lineup and checking out the Domination Station for a minute projection on these guys, it’s truly impossible to break them down right now. From the Bucks, I would be surprised if they didn’t sit Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton, especially after a pretty competitive game against the Rockets. That said, this is a good game for Eric Bledsoe and Pat Connaughton to get their feet under them after they arrived at the bubble late. If Giannis and Middleton (and possibly Brook Lopez) are out, it would open up a ton of value and this would be your go-to game to get that value. At the moment, it’s just too hard to break this one down without a little more info, so jump in that premium chat and watch the Breaking News Feed for updates.

Dallas Mavericks @ Sacramento Kings

Vegas Total: 235.5

Vegas Spread: Dal -6.5

Starting with the Mavs, there’s really only two guys on this team that I’ll have interest in and they are Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. Doncic has at least 64 DraftKings points in his first two games in the bubble while Porzingis has at least 52 points in each of those games. These two just demand so much usage that it’s hard to feel good about consistent production out of any of the other guys. You can make a case for Tim Hardaway Jr. for GPPs but that’s about it for me. From the Kings, De’Aaron Fox dropped a 50 burger on Friday night against the Spurs followed up by a bit of a dud against the Magic. I don’t hate this matchup or the price on him, he’s more of a secondary option. Buddy Hield just isn’t getting the playing time to be relevant, if you want to throw him in your GPP player pool, go for it, but I’m not touching him in cash. Both Nemanja Bjelica and Richaun Holmes have been very below average to start this bubble, they’re GPP guys that I’m not trusting in cash until they prove it to me. Lastly, Bogdan Bogdanovic has been playing well and would make sense as a cash option in this spot.

5-star play: Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzingis

4-star play: De’Aaron Fox, Bogdan Bogdanovic

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Tim Hardaway Jr., Buddy Hield, Richaun Holmes

Phoenix Suns @ Los Angeles Clippers

Vegas Total: 230.5

Vegas Spread: Lac -9.0

Starting with the Suns, Devin Booker has looked about how I would’ve expected him to and is priced pretty accurately here. It’s a crazy tough matchup as he’ll likely get Paul George or Kawhi Leonard defense, for that reason, I’ll avoid Booker on this slate and go elsewhere. DeAndre Ayton had an off game last time out, playing just 21 minutes due to foul trouble. You can beat the Clippers with your bigs if done correctly and the price tag on Ayton has come down, I’ve got some GPP interest in him at the very least. Ricky Rubio has looked great to start this NBA restart, he’s also averaging 33 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Clippers this season, he feels like a safe cash option. Lastly, Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson should be a nice option at his price tag with Oubre out. They both played heavy minutes last time out and performed well. From the Clippers, it’s the Kawhi Leonard and Paul George show, both are elite options here as the Suns won’t have an answer for them on defense. Montrezl Harrell is still out for this game but Lou Williams is questionable, if he plays then we can downgrade Reggie Jackson if he doesn’t play than you can go right back to that Jackson well.

5-star play: Paul George, Kawhi Leonard

4-star play: DeAndre Ayton, Ricky Rubio, Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Reggie Jackson

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Cam Johnson, Devin Booker, Reggie Jackson

Orlando Magic @ Indiana Pacers

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Magic, Nikola Vucevic played just 24 minutes last game but was still able to put up 47 DraftKings points, he saw his price come way down and looks like a great option in that price range. Aaron Gordon’s minutes should become much more secure after Jonathan Isaac suffered that nasty injury over the weekend. He’s still priced a bit high for me, but he makes sense for GPPs. Terrence Ross will always be in play for GPPs due to his ability to put up raw points, he’s one of the better bench scorers in the league. On the other hand, Evan Fournier is the safer play of the two because of his consistency. From the Pacers, I guess TJ Warren is running for the “Bubble MVP” title. He’s had two straight games of at least 69 DraftKings points. If Victor Oladipo is out again you can go right back to him, however it is a less than ideal matchup than he’s had the past two games. Keep an eye on Malcolm Brogdon as well, he played 35 minutes last night and it wouldn’t shock me if they gave him some rest on the back to back. Lastly, Myles Turner is a solid option here while Aaron Holiday is in play again if Oladipo sits.

5-star play: Nikola Vucevic

4-star play: Aaron Gordon, Evan Fournier, TJ Warren, Malcolm Brogdon, Myles Turner

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Aaron Gordon, Terrence Ross, TJ Warren

Boston Celtics @ Miami Heat

Vegas Total: 222.0

Vegas Spread: Bos -3.5

Starting with the Celtics, Jayson Tatum finally looked like he did pre-shutdown last game. He played 40 minutes on his way to 58 DraftKings points. He’ll look to keep it going here, it’s not a great matchup but I think there’s some meat on the bone at this price yet. Kemba Walker played 22 minutes last game, I would expect he’s still on a minutes limit here and gets around 25 minutes tonight, he’s not playable at this price as there really isn’t much of a ceiling to be had. Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward, and Marcus Smart are all solid plays here, but I would lean toward them in GPP while Daniel Theis makes fora solid cash option. From the Heat, Bam Adebayo should be able to get it done here, the Celtics struggle with post big men with Daniel Theis and Enes Kanter trying to do the job. That said, Bam has struggled in two games against the Celtics this season averaging just 26.9 DraftKings points per game. Jimmy Butler has been the guy picking up the slack in those two games, averaging more than 45 DraftKings points per game. Duncan Robinson and Kendrick Nunn are fine options but neither are guys that I’m prioritizing here. The same thing can be said for Goran Dragic who had a huge game against the Raptors yesterday. Lastly, you can always take a flyer on Jae Crowder just in case he has one of those games where he gets hot from three and knocks down five or six. Tyler Herro makes sense as a value option as well at near the minimum on DraftKings.

5-star play: Jayson Tatum, Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo

4-star play: Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward, Marcus Smart, Duncan Robinson, Goran Dragic

Deeper Value: Jae Crowder, Tyler Herro

GPP Sleeper: Daniel Theis, Goran Dragic, Kendrick Nunn

Houston Rockets @ Portland Trailblazers

Vegas Total: 242.5

Vegas Spread: Hou -4.0

We end the slate with the highest total by far. These two teams will be scoring and scoring often here. I’ll start with the Rockets, both James Harden and Russell Westbrook are elite plays as usual. That said, I like the price tag on Westbrook much more at just $9.4k. He’s scored at least 50 DraftKings points in both of his two bubble games, I may end up taking the savings on him much more than I pay up for Harden. Robert Covington makes a lot of sense here as well, his minutes are through the roof and his rebound equity is huge on this team as he plays more of a power forward role. Danuel House and PJ Tucker could be in line for a lot of three-point opportunities here if the Portland bigs are too slow to get out on them, they’re both solid options in that range. From the Trailblazers, Jusuf Nurkic has looked great in his first two games back going for two straight 50 burgers… however, I worry that he’ll get run off the court in this one. He won’t be quick enough to get out on those threes that the Rockets are going to try and spray. I may take a stand and just fade him today, he really worries me. Damian Lillard is a guy I want on this slate, he’s averaging 51.5 DraftKings points against the Rockets in three games this season and will go blow for blow with Harden. I like the idea of pairing up Lillard with one of Harden or Westbrook similar to what we did on Sunday night with Giannis. CJ McCollum is playing all the minutes he can handle right now and is a great play as well. Lastly, guys like Carmelo Anthony and Zach Collins are very interesting to me, if the Blazers do go small they may slide Collins to the 5 which opens up a bunch of rebounds and opportunities for him. I like this spot for a lot of the Blazers team.

5-star play: James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Damian Lillard

4-star play: CJ McCollum, Robert Covington, Danuel House

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: PJ Tucker, Carmelo Anthony, Zach Collings

NBA Lock of the Day: Zach Collins (DK – $4.3k; FD – $4.6k)

Ja Morant screwed me last night, so I’ve got to take a stand tonight. As I mentioned in that last game, I don’t think Jusuf Nurkic or Hassan Whiteside are going to be able to run with the Rockets. This leaves Zach Collins a lot of frontcourt minuets for this team. Collins can stretch the floor and get out on those threes that the Rockets are going to try and grab. The Research Station is thinking the same thing (see below) and has him projected for 7x his current price tag. I love me some Zach Collins for the Blazers tonight! Tweet me (@MadnessDFS) your lock predictions and if your player gets over 6.5x I’ll give you a shoutout on Twitter, let’s have some fun with this!
