(FREE!) NBA Full Court Press Breakdown, Advice, and Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Aug 10th, 2020

Full Court Press Breakdown for NBA DFS:

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Phoenix Suns

Vegas Total: 224.0

Vegas Spread: Pho -5.0

We’ll kick off Monday’s slate with the Thunder and Suns coming in with an implied total of 224. Starting with the Thunder, both Steven Adams and Nerlens Noel were late scratches last game, and their availability for tonight’s game is questionable, so this is a spot we’ll want to keep an eye out on. Darius Bazley had a big night filling in for these guys on Sunday, going for 37.25 DraftKings points and is a good option if Noel or Adams needs to sit again. Mike Muscala also played well on his way to 20.25 DraftKings points, I would need Adams to be out to have interest in Muscala however. I haven’t seen any news on Dennis Schroeder returning either which opens up opportunities for both Chris Paul and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. I have seen a few whispers that Paul may sit on the back end of this back to back which would make Gilgeous-Alexander a standout play in a good matchup. Ultimately, this is a team that we’ll need to watch for news on, luckily it’s the first game of the day so we’ll have the news. From the Suns, Devin Booker is coming off a great game against the Heat all while shooting 0-7 from three. He’s a nice GPP option here but his price is a bit high for cash games. DeAndre Ayton is getting huge minutes but really hasn’t blown his price tag out of the water, I do like him for GPPs but that price tag is tough. Ricky Rubio makes sense as a nice point guard option, he’s been pretty consistent as of late. Lastly, it sounds like Kelly Oubre will be out at least one more game which opens up wing minutes for Cam Johnson and Mikal Bridges. Johnson saw his minutes dip last game but before that saw at least 36 minutes in three straight, I like him as a GPP option. Bridges is more of the cash game guy since the ceiling really isn’t there and honestly hasn’t looked all that great lately.

5-star play: Darius Bazley (if Noel/Adams is out), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

4-star play: Chris Paul, Danilo Gallinari, Devin Booker, DeAndre Ayton, Ricky Rubio

Deeper Value: Darius Bazley, Mike Muscala

GPP Sleeper: Cam Johnson, Devin Booker, Danilo Gallinari

Dallas Mavericks @ Utah Jazz

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Mavericks, they’re a bit of a mess as they’ve already ruled out Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzingis, and Dorian Finney-Smith while Seth Curry is now probable. We surprisingly have a decent sample size with these three guys off the court this season. Seth Curry looks to be the biggest beneficiary from this as he sees a +5.8% usage rate on his way to 0.91 fantasy points per minute. Below is how the rest of the team grades out;

  • Tim Hardaway Jr – 27.6% usage rate; 1.03 fpm
  • Maxi Kleber – 16.0% usage rate; 0.99 fpm
  • Justin Jackson – 16.7% usage rate; 0.67 fpm

I would assume we see a starting lineup of Burke, Curry, Hardaway Jr, Jackson, and Kleber, but keep an eye on a confirmed lineup. Anyone that cracks this starting lineup will have some value due to their price tags. From the Jazz, Donovan Mitchell comes into this game as questionable and my first thoughts would be that they sit him with the Mavs resting a few of their guys, but keep an eye out for that news as well. If he does play I don’t love his price tag but he should be able to do what he wants in this matchup. Rudy Gobert is averaging 47.8 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Mavs this season, I like him in this spot as well. Mike Conley, Joe Ingles, Jordan Clarkson, and Royce O’Neale all make sense as GPP options and would see a boost if Mitchell is out.

5-star play: Tim Hardaway Jr., Maxi Kleber, Seth Curry

4-star play: Trey Burke, Justin Jackson, Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert

Deeper Value: Trey Burke, Justin Jackson

GPP Sleeper: Mike Conley, Joe Ingles, Jordan Clarkson, Royce O’Neale

Toronto Raptors @ Milwaukee Bucks

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Raptors, Kyle Lowry continues to play heavy minutes and is looking at a price close to $9k. He’s averaging 38 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Bucks this season, I don’t love the price tag but you can certainly get some exposure in GPPs. Pascal Siakam has been less than impressive since the restart and has seen his price come way down. I like him quite a bit here as he’ll need to be out there to match up with Giannis. The price tag is the big thing for me, we haven’t seen him this cheap in a while. Fred VanVleet was the Bucks kryptonite last postseason and is playing good basketball right now, scoring at least 30 DraftKings points in each game since the restart. Serge Ibaka finally had a good game last time out, but the minutes are just all over the place to the point where I won’t be getting much of him at all. From the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging a massive 69.3 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Raptors this season. It’s tough not to like him here and is under $11k on DraftKings. Khris Middleton has at least 45 DraftKings points in three of his last four games and makes sense going right back to him here as his price tag hasn’t budged. Eric Bledsoe played more minutes than I was expecting on Saturday at 31, it sounds like they still want to monitor him but if he’s a go I don’t see why they would hold him back now. Lastly, Brook Lopez is playing great basketball right now going for at least 46 DraftKings points in two of his last three games and feels too cheap here, he’s a nice mid-range cash option.

5-star play: Pascal Siakam, Giannis Antetokounmpo

4-star play: Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez

Deeper Value: Donte DiVincenzo

GPP Sleeper: Serge Ibaka, Eric Bledsoe

Indiana Pacers @ Miami Heat

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Pacers, TJ Warren is listed as questionable but I would be shocked if he missed this game as he was questionable for Saturday’s game and went out and played 36 minutes. If he’s confirmed in you have to at least consider him here as he’s been one of the best players in the bubble so far. Malcolm Brogdon has at least 40 DraftKings points in three of his last four games and feels too cheap here, I like him in this spot. Myles Turner had a rough outing last time out and I don’t know that this is a great bounce-back spot, I’d rather take the savings on Brook Lopez. Lastly, Victor Oladipo played 35 minutes last game and looks like he’s a full go going forward. He scored 38.25 DraftKings points last time out and didn’t see his price move, I like him here. From the Heat, Kendrick Nunn will be out here but Jimmy Butler and Goran Dragic are both on track to play. I like the price tag on Butler and he’s averaging 37.6 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Pacers on the season. Bam Adebayo bounced back nicely last game but feels priced right where he should be. That said, he does have a nice upside and can be played with confidence in GPPs. Tyler Herro dropped a 50 burger last game after getting the start for Nunn, I would expect he starts again here, he’s a good option but I wouldn’t expect another 50 out of him. Lastly, Kelly Olynyk saw a dip in minutes last game and has seen his price come up, there will be better days to play the Olynyk Clinic.

5-star play: TJ Warren, Jimmy Butler

4-star play: Malcolm Brogdon, Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Victor Oladipo, Goran Dragic

Denver Nuggets @ Los Angeles Lakers

Vegas Total: 221.5

Vegas Spread: Lal -5.5

We end the night with the Nuggets and Lakers, I’ll get started with Denver. Nikola Jokic is coming off a huge game against the Jazz going for 60 DraftKings points. He’s averaging 41.8 DraftKings points per game in three matchups with the Lakers this season, he’s a nice option here. Michael Porter Jr. continues to play excellent basketball. He’s got at least 47 DraftKings points in four straight games and feels like he has finally figured something out at the pro level. I like him especially for GPPs here. Jamal Murray wasted no time getting back into things as he dropped 53.5 DraftKings points last game. He’s priced nicely and makes sense here as well. Guys like Jerami Grant and Paul Millsap aren’t really on my radar here with all the usage going to those three guys mentioned. From the Lakers, LeBron James is averaging 58 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Nuggets this season, it’s hard to argue with that productivity. Meanwhile, Anthony Davis is averaging 51.9 DraftKings points in those three games, both James and Davis are elite plays as usual here. The only other guy I really have interest in on this team is Kyle Kuzma who you can use in GPPs and feel comfortable.

5-star play: Nikola Jokic, Michael Porter Jr, LeBron James, Anthony Davis

4-star play: Jamal Murray, Kyle Kuzma

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Dion Waiters, Jerami Grant

NBA Lock of the Day: Pascal Siakam (DK – $7.4k; FD – $7.3k)

This is really more of a pricing play than anything if I’m being honest here. He really hasn’t looked great since the restart, but we know the upside and floor is there with him, so I’m not all that worried about him especially when he has Nick Nurse playing his guys as much as they possibly can. I would expect big minutes out of him again here as he’s out there to help clog up the lane and force Giannis to go elsewhere. I love the price on him and expect to be overweight on the field and hope he comes in under-owned. Tweet me (@MadnessDFS) your lock predictions and if your player gets over 6.5x I’ll give you a shoutout on Twitter, let’s have some fun with this!
