Kansas Speedway

We have three total races this week between the Xfinity and Truck Series. The Truck Series will have double duty this week racing on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. The Xfinity Series will race Saturday evening. Kansas is 1.5 mile intermediate track. Unlike the recent races at Kentucky and Texas, we will actually have multiple grooves and tire wear. This means the drivers will have more of an impact on the race. Be sure to check out the DFS Army Research Station to get all the up to date info on 2020 and 1.5 mile race stats.

Xfinity Preview

For this race, we will look to employ two dominators. Really going to be a chalky selection with Cindric, Brisoce, and Allgaier. Going to need to look to differentiate with the mid tier and value plays. Stars and scrub lineup building makes a lot of sense for this race. There are a lot of viable value plays and thus we have a wide open slate. I believe that you can work on being different pretty easily below $7,500 and that will be the key to this slate. Kaz Grala returns for the first time this year in the #21 for RCR.

Race Procedure

Pit selection:

  • Pit selection order for the race is based on finishing position from the July 18th race at Texas, followed by new entries in order of points.

Starting lineup for race one:

  • Starting Positions 1-12: Random draw from charter teams in those positions in owner points
  • Positions 13-24: Random draw from charter teams in those positions in owner points
  • Positions 25-36: Random draw from charter teams in those positions in owner points
  • Lastly, Positions 37-40: Open teams in order of owners points

Favorite Xfinity Series Play: Myatt Snider

After getting caught up in a few wrecks in recent weeks, the #93 is 28th in owner points. This means the best case scenario starting position will be 25th while he could start in the 30s. When they have a clean race there is top 15 upside. Should be a solid mid-tier place differential play. That is if DraftKings doesn’t do something stupid and raise his cost an astronomical amount.

Truck Preview

We have TWO truck races this week. For both races, I will look for at least two dominators. The only thing to keep in mind is that if we need up with top tier plays starting in the back for race two then they will supersede a dominator play. The short races make place differential points a more important commodity. Kansas has some of the best racing and can offer great passing opportunities. Lots of great options with most the field in play for this race. The top 15 from race one will be inverted for the start of race two. Rest of  the field will start based on how they finished race one.

Race Procedure

Pit selection:

  • Order for pit selection based on finishing position from the July 18th race at Texas, followed by new entries in order of points.

Starting lineup:

  • Starting Positions 1-10: Random draw of teams in those positions in owner points
  • Positions 11-21: Random draw of teams in those positions in owner points
  • Positions 22-32: Random draw of teams in those positions in owner points
  • Any vehicles that are eligible for the Event in position 33rd – 40th will be assigned starting positions based on their order of eligibility.

Favorite Truck Series Play: Zane Smith

Just too cheap for a driver with top 5 upside. I really like the speed Smith has shown this year including leading 26 laps last race.  Great mid range play with great upside.
