iRacing Pro Invitational Power Rankings – Post Dover

iRacing Pro Invitational Power Rankings Post Dover

For this weekend’s race at North Wilkesboro, we will see a reduced field of 28 cars. We will have two newcomers Jon Wood and Martin Truex as well as a returning Jeff Gordon. We will also see me drivers not racing this week who have been a big part of things so far. This list includes William Byron, Jimmie Johnson, Alex Bowman, Chase Elliot Kurt Busch, Daniel Suarez, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, and Ryan Blaney. Due to these changes our power rankings will reflect who is actually entered into the race for North Wilkesboro.

1)  Timmy Hill

Hill has been the closest challenger to tree time winner William Byron through the Pro Invitational Series. He has a win and is leading the series in points. Will start in the back so also offers elite Place Differential upside for this week.

2) Landon Cassill

Cassill was running 3rd looking at a chance to win before Byron essentially wrecked him on a late restart. Incredibly consistent and really puts in the work to be good.

3) Ryan Preece

Preece started in the back of the field last race and got caught up in too many incidents as a result. I don’t believe that should be held against him for this event also. He has been fast at almost all the tracks.

4)  Denny Hamlin

Hamlin grabbed a 6th place finish last week at Dover. He has been really strong on the more technical tracks which is exactly what North Wilkesboro will be.

5) Garrett Smithley

Smithley hasn’t really been competing for wins recently but he is a fixture within the top 10. He was able to led 11 laps last week and is one of the most solid drives in the series.

6) Parker Kligerman

Kligerman is hit about everything in the world last week leading to a 34th place finish despite leading 11 laps early in the race. He is still a top 5 threat however and someone who I believe could be a huge threat for the win this week. Elite upside with Kligerman.

7) Dale Earnhardt Jr

Last week was a rough one but overall Jr is still one of the smoothest drivers. He was the person responsible for iRacing scan North Wilkesboro and putting it on the service. I believe he will come into this race with extra practice and focus.

8)  John Hunter Nemechek

Nemechek looked amazing at Dover last week running inside the top 3 for a large portion of the race. Denny Hamlin moved him late which led to JHN intentionally wrecking Hamlin and getting DQ’d. He has some real upside but has lacked consistency at times.

9) Christopher Bell

Bell has looked really good as of late. He scored a 2nd place finish at Dover and has been one of the best over the last couple events.

10) Kyle Busch

After starting off poorly, Kyle has really become a solid iRacer. He has put in tons of work and the results are showing. Races smart and brings home good finishes nearly every week.

11) Erik Jones

4th last week at Dover. Jones has had massive highs and massive lows. If he stays clean he should be able to secure a top 10 finish this week.

12) Michael McDowell

McDowell wasn’t invited to Richmond then had a rough Talladega. He rebounded nicely last week however scoring a 5th place finish. He scored a 14th at Texas, 10th at Bristol, and of course the 5th at Dover. Someone who can score a top 10 any week.

13) Brennan Poole

Poole looked good at Talladega and followed it up with a solid 11th at Dover. Poole has been running a ton of racing in 2020 competing in 115 oval races in 2020. He could be a sneaky good play this week as he is clearly putting in the time to be good.

14)  Bobby Labonte

Yet another top 15 last week from Labonte. He doesn’t have elite speed but consistent and safe.

15) Martin Truex Jr

Truex was doing online racing long before it was the cool thing to do. He will come in ready to roll this week and is someone I believe will contend for a top 10.
