Esports – LPL-LCK 4/10 2AM ET Slate

Notes for Tonight’s 4/10 LCK-LPL Slate

5 game slate tonight.

LPL

DMO (-500) vs V5 (+305)

V5 are bad. Very bad. They have won one game all season and probably should have at least a couple more but they are just incapable of turning any advantage into a win. DMO lost a close one to BLG recently and honestly they had a very good chance to win throughout that series. Tonight DMO are starting their former midlaner TWILA (now Xiaowei) and they have a good matchup here against V5. I like DMO a lot tonight and they are a great option in both cash/GPP. V5 may not win another game for the rest of the season but if they were to win a game it would be in this series. DMO are better than V5 but they are still both weaker teams at the bottom of the standings. If V5 happened to jump out to a lead against DMO, maybe they wouldn’t know how to turn it around and that could be their win condition. I would still save V5 for GPP only but they are actually a little bit viable tonight.

Players to watch (DMO): Twila, Xiaopeng, Natural
Players to watch (V5): y4, clx

FPX (-650) vs VG (+375)

FPX are clearly the best team in the LPL in my eyes. They have won 9 series in a row and haven’t lost since starting off the season 0-2 back in January. They have not been great for DFS purposes recently since they are blowing teams out the water too quickly. This has hurt their upside in GPPs and even in cash. Tonight may be different story though. I think VG is a talented enough team and coached well enough to not just lie down and take the beating from FPX. I’d wager they would fight to try and get an early lead on FPX, and even if that fails I would expect them to at least try and come back. This is a better spot for for FPX but the game could end up being slow if neither team makes any aggressive moves. I still like FPX a lot here and would expect a 2-0.

Players to watch (FPX): Doinb, Lwx, Tian
Players to watch (VG): iBoy, Forge, Hang

TES (-450) vs BLG (+295)

TES did lose their last match to WE but it was a 2-1. They got out-drafted both games in which they lost and it makes it hard to come back when you are playing with a much weaker composition. Jackeylove is still not playing yet and I expect that to happen soon, but Photic is still in for now. BLG have played pretty well recently and are starting to look more like the BLG from last year. They have had some very aggressive games as of late and their players have lots of individual talent. It is possible for them to win this game but TES is the overall better team with more star players. I do like BLG in GPPs a decent amount and there aren’t many viable dogs on this slate so I am okay with BLG there. TES should 2-0 but they have been somewhat careless recently and I could see it going to 3.

Players to watch (TES): Knight, Photic, Karsa
Players to watch (BLG): Meteor, Fofo, Jinjiao

LCK

DRX (-260) vs DWG (+180)

DRX are an elite team. They have their superstar in Deft, and extremely solid pieces around him. They play relatively aggressive for an LCK team and they have been very good recently. DWG were a dumpster fire in their last match against GRF, but prior to that looked like they had turned the corner. Ghost coming in has been beneficial for them despite that horrendous last performance. If DWG figure out how to get back to their prior form this series could be very competitive. I don’t find that super likely however and I think that DRX will smash here. DWG are fine for a GPP shot.

Players to watch (DRX): Deft, Chovy, Pyosik
Players to watch (DWG): Nuguri, Ghost, ShowMaker

T1 (-400) vs KT (+270)

T1 had a weird and disappointing loss to DWG not too long ago. They were heavily out-drafted in both games and let the Senna go through both times. They got swiftly destroyed without much resistance and it was quite a shock to everyone. They bounced back yesterday by cleanly beating SB and looked more like the T1 we are used to. KT were extremely hot then lost back to back series including a loss to APK. Aiming is their best player and he has done some work for them but honestly the rest of his team is not great. T1 should be able to take this game rather easily unless they are deciding to limit test again today.

Players to watch: (T1): Teddy, Canna, Faker
Players to watch: (KT): Aiming, bono

Favourite stacks: FPX > DMO > TES > DRX > T1 > DWG > BLG > KT >V5 > VG
