Esports – LPL 4/17 3am ET

Notes for Tonight’s 4/17 LPL 3am ET Slate

3 game slate tonight with playoffs coming soon.

LPL

LNG (+280) vs WE (-425)

LNG are still starting chenlun and Light. This tells me that they are mostly practising for next season and this one is kind of a wash. Normally I would be all over LNG in this spot since WE are being overrated but not with this roster. If Asura and Flandre were playing I would give LNG a great shot. In this case I only give LNG a small chance of winning. They would have to have Maple and Xx win the game for them and Xx has been mediocre all season long. WE are in a great spot to fight for the last playoff spot and they will need this win here. WE have had bloody wins in the past but those were against higher tempo opponents, LNG is not that. However I still think WE will win handily. LNG make for an interesting GPP spot but not one I would put too much faith in.

Players to watch (LNG): Xx, Maple, Light
Players to watch (WE): Jiumeng, Beishang, Teacherma

JDG (-600) vs DMO (+365)

Everyone is really high on the new DMO. I am glad they are playing better too but this is not a spot to roster them in my opinion. JDG look elite and potentially are one of the championship contenders in the LPL. Zoom should be able to offset any pressure Natural is bringing and Kanavi most likely won’t allow Xiaopeng to get off to his early leads. JDG have the advantage in all other individual match-ups and they are playing better as a team too. Give me JDG here. DMO is the least appealing underdog to me out of the 3 tonight.

Players to watch (JDG): Kanavi, Loken, Yagao
Players to watch (DMO): Xiye, Xiaopeng, Natural

IG (-230) vs EDG (+165)

This is the big one tonight and a match-up of classic big names in the LPL. IG need this win to secure #1 and EDG would love to improve their standings situation. EDG have looked very good with their full roster now and have had good performances recently. They have had some very nice comeback games after being down early but that is where IG potentially have an advantage. IG will take any small advantage and push it to a major one, EDG cannot afford to fall on the back foot against Invictus. Individually both teams are very skilled but I have IG with the advantage in every lane except for jungle. Even some games where Invictus are losing they will find their magical team-fight and win from there. EDG are better at controlling objectives and playing the map but IG are better in skirmishes and team-fights. This game should have very high action as all IG games do and I expect a close one. EDG are the top GPP option tonight by far and this is where you should start if building with a dog. I think IG win this series more often than not and they always have that next gear in their arsenal. I give a slight edge to IG but EDG are viable tonight as well.

Players to watch (IG): Rookie, TheShy, Puff
Players to watch (EDG): Scout, JieJie, Hope

Favourite stacks: JDG > WE > IG > EDG > LNG > DMO
