Full Court Press:

Brooklyn Nets @ Washington Wizards

Vegas Total: 235

Vegas Spread: Bkn -1.5

Starting with the Nets, Kyrie is out for the season meaning Caris LeVert and Spencer Dinwiddie will run the show, both in the backcourt and in this offense. Dinwiddie scored 41.5 DraftKings points in this spot earlier this season and has a huge total. He’s a very solid play here as he has a 31.8% usage rate and 1.22 fantasy points per minute with Kyrie out this season. LeVert is right there with Dinwiddie with a 31% usage rate and 1.09 fantasy points per minute, that said, I prefer Dinwiddie for cash and LeVert for GPP due to volatility, but both are great options in a fast-paced game. That pretty much concludes my interest in this team outside of GPP darts on Joe Harris and Taurean Prince. From the Wizards, I love this spot for Bradley Beal, he’s coming off a 70 and a 61.5 point fantasy night last night over his past two games and scored 56.5 DraftKings points in this spot earlier this season. The Nets don’t play a whole lot of defense which makes this a desirable spot for Beal. Rui Hachimura played a massive 46 minutes against the Bucks and walked away with a disappointing 22 fantasy points. I love targeting big men against the Nets, however, so I will likely go right back to him here. Davis Bertans is questionable here after missing last game, if he plays I wouldn’t worry all too much about a minute limit but it’s worth keeping an eye on. Lastly, Ish Smith makes sense as a secondary option as well and has scored at least 27 fantasy points in two straight games.

5-star play: Spencer Dinwiddie, Bradley Beal

4-star play: Caris LeVert, Rui Hachimura, Ish Smith

Deeper Value: Moe Wagner

GPP Sleeper: Shabazz Napier, Davis Bertans, Ish Smith, Taurean Prince, Joe Harris

New York Knicks @ Charlotte Hornets

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Knicks, Julius Randle has been a bit all over the place as of late, but I do like this spot for him. We just saw Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis go wild against the Hornets last night, they clearly have issues defending opposing big men. Randle is a great play here, especially for GPPs. Elfrid Payton is questionable here so keep an eye on his status, but if he plays I like him a good amount in GPPs in what is a nice matchup for him. Him being back will kill the Dennis Smith value that we got on Monday night, but keep an eye out for a starting lineup as it would not surprise me to see this team do something screwy. RJ Barrett had a good game last time out, but again that was with Payton out, I want to see him produce with Payton in there before I pay this price tag for him. Lastly, Mitchell Robinson is a fine GPP option, he’s just so volatile that he’s hard to trust a whole lot. From the Hornets, this whole team was chalk last night in a terrible matchup. Devonte’ Graham ended up missing that game so keep an eye on his status, if he does play I will want to hear that he’s not limited before I jump right back into bed with him. Terry Rozier is playing awful basketball right now and just not a guy that I want to get to. I don’t hate Malik Monk for GPPs, but on a big slate, I think there are better options. Lastly, Miles Bridges makes for a decent secondary option as he has been one of the more consistent pieces on this team since before the all-star break.

5-star play: Julius Randle

4-star play: Elfrid Payton, Miles Bridges, Devonte’ Graham

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Terry Rozier, RJ Barrett, Malik Monk

Philadelphia 76ers @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Vegas Total: 222

Vegas Spread: Phi -7.5

Starting with the Sixers, it sounds like this team will be without Ben Simmons for a while so a big price tag is expected to be paid for Joel Embiid. That said, he has at least 69 DraftKings points in two of his last three games and a matchup with Drummond does not scare me one bit. With Simmons off the court this season here is how the rest of the team shakes out…

  • Joel Embiid – 36.7% usage rate; 1.65 fpm
  • Josh Richardson – 21.6% usage rate; 0.84 fpm
  • Tobias Harris – 24.2% usage rate; 1.05 fpm
  • Al Horford – 20.4% usage rate; 1.00 fpm

These would be the guys that I’m targeting on this team, as guys like Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson just aren’t seeing a big enough role for me to have an interest. From the Cavaliers, Andre Drummond is not getting the minutes that he was in Detroit and has played no more than 25 minutes in four straight games. I can’t play him until either his price comes down or his minutes go up, his upside is just too limited in such a small amount of minutes. Kevin Love’s minutes have been all over the place as well, maybe we chalk this up to a new coach, but this is a situation I’m avoiding until we get some clarity. That said, he is coming off a game where he dropped 45.5 DraftKings points in 38 minutes. Collin Sexton is the one guy playing consistent minutes right now, although he did put up a dud last time out, I don’t love the price tag on him. Tristan Thompson has been getting more minutes than newly acquired Drummond which makes zero sense, but performing well nonetheless, you can make a case for him in deep GPPs.

5-star play: Joel Embiid

4-star play: Josh Richardson, Tobias Harris, Al Horford, Kevin Love, Collin Sexton

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Andre Drummond, Kevin Love, Collin Sexton, Tristan Thompson

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Miami Heat

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Heat, Jimmy Butler is questionable for this game due to personal reasons, here is how the rest of the team grades out with him off the court…

  • Bam Adebayo – 24.2% usage rate; 1.38 fpm
  • Goran Dragic – 27.6% usage rate; 1.17 fpm
  • Kendrick Nunn – 24.2% usage rate; 0.93 fpm

These are the three guys I would expect to get the most interest in, Adebayo really sees a huge boost with him out as does Dragic. Adebayo has at least 64 DraftKings points in two of his last three and this whole team sees a great matchup against the Wolves who play zero defense. If Butler plays, he’s an elite play as well, as he’s not injured so there should be zero limitations. From the Wolves, D’Angelo Russell is expected to return here and should see a ton of usage with Towns out for the near future. The price is elevated but I will have much more interest in him if Butler is out, if Butler plays I will get close to zero, that’s how good Butler is on defense. Malik Beasley continues to play well in big minutes, but the price is getting to the point where he’s more of a secondary play. Naz Reid will likely continue to start for this team with Towns out, although not exactly producing great. I don’t mind taking a flyer on James Johnson in his return to Miami either, he’s been a pretty good point per minute option.

5-star play: Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler

4-star play: Goran Dragic, Kendrick Nunn, D’Angelo Russell (If Butler is out), Malik Beasley

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Goran Dragic, Kendrick Nunn, Naz Reid, James Johnson

Orlando Magic @ Atlanta Hawks

Vegas Total: 227

Vegas Spread: Orl -2.5

Starting with the Magic, this is a spot where I will like Nikola Vucevic. I’m going to keep targeting big men against this Hawks team until they get Clint Capela back. He’s averaging 42.8 DraftKings points per game in three games against the Hawks this season. Aaron Gordon is playing great basketball as well and has scored at least 53 fantasy points in two of his last three games, a great option in a great matchup. Markelle Fultz is coming off a floor game against the Nets, but I don’t hate going right back to him here at likely low ownership in a good matchup. Lastly, Evan Fournier makes for a nice secondary option and is in better form as of late. From the Hawks, Trae Young gets a pace down spot against the Magic but is averaging 54.3 DraftKings points per game in two games against them this season, he’s matchup proof and an elite GPP option at the very least. John Collins has flashed his huge ceiling as of late, I don’t love the price on him, but I would expect his rebound equity to stay increased while Clint Capela is still sidelined. Kevin Huerter is playing all the minutes he can handle right now and makes for a great play in all formats although his price is starting to get up there.

5-star play: Nikola Vucevic, Trae Young

4-star play:  Aaron Gordon, Markelle Fultz, Evan Fournier, John Collins, Kevin Huerter

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Markelle Fultz

Memphis Grizzlies @ Houston Rockets

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

I’ll start by saying I expect this game to have an absolutely massive total, these are two of the fastest teams in the league and there should be plenty of scoring in this one. Starting with the Grizzlies, Jonas Valanciunas may be in trouble here, the Rockets plan to go small is working well and really running big men out of the game. I will wait for a better spot to go to Valanciunas and he may even come in with heavy ownership. DraftKings did a good job on the Gorgui Dieng pricing knowing that Jaren Jackson and Brandon Clarke would be out here, he’s more of a secondary GPP play, although I do think he’ll get decent run at center if indeed Valanciunas does get run off the court. Ja Morant is in pretty bad form and has scored no more than 21 fantasy points in three straight, that said, this is a nice bounce-back opportunity for him. Josh Jackson started the second half on Monday night when Clarke went down and is actually playing pretty good basketball. In a fast-paced game I like the price on him a good deal. From the Rockets, Russell Westbrook missed the last game which made James Harden a great play, but he’s expected back here. That said, the Grizzlies are playing at lightning speed this year, both Westbrook and Harden are elite plays. Lastly, Robert Covington makes a lot of sense as well as I love his role on this team, they will space the floor and allow him to shoot a bunch of three’s and recover loose balls.

5-star play: James Harden, Russell Westbrook

4-star play: Robert Covington, Ja Morant, Gorgui Dieng, Josh Jackson

Deeper Value: De’Anthony Melton

GPP Sleeper: Jonas Valanciunas, Dillon Brooks

Dallas Mavericks @ San Antonio Spurs

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Mavericks, this is an incredible spot for Luka Doncic. He has averaged 64.6 DraftKings points per game in two games with the Spurs this season. The Spurs have struggled with defense altogether, but particularly against opposing point guards. I’m hoping the ownership is lower on Doncic as well after having a down game last time out, for his standards at least. I’m really not big on the rest of this team, Porzingis sees his usage go way down with Doncic on the court, although he has scored 56+ DraftKings points in two of his last three games. Tim Hardaway is more of a GPP option due to his volatility and since most of the backcourt usage will funnel to Doncic. From the Spurs, LaMarcus Aldridge is out for this game, here is how the rest of the team grades out…

  • Jakob Poeltl – 13.3% usage rate; 1.13 fpm
  • DeMar DeRozan – 33.5% usage rate; 1.27 fpm
  • Rudy Gay – 23.2% usage rate; 1.08 fpm

These are the biggest guys I would be targeting, maybe a sprinkle of Trey Lyles as well as he should see extra run. That said, Poeltl will likely be a good form of value here at near min price.

5-star play: Luka Doncic, DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl

4-star play: Kristaps Porzigis, Rudy Gay

Deeper Value: Jakob Poeltl

GPP Sleeper: Kristaps Porzingis, Seth Curry, Trey Lyles

Los Angeles Clippers @ Phoenix Suns

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Suns, DeAndre Ayton draws a great matchup here as the Clippers have struggled against opposing big men all season long. He scored 40 fantasy points in this spot earlier this season and has flashed a huge upside already. He’s a great GPP option. Devin Booker scored 49 DraftKings points in this matchup earlier this season. This is a tough matchup for him as he’ll draw either Kawhi or George on defense, he’s more of a GPP guy for me. Kelly Oubre is out for this game meaning more minutes for guys like Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson. they are more value punt options than anything else, I would expect this to be more of a usage spread than a big opportunity opened up for a bench guy. Lastly, Ricky Rubio is coming off a 62 point fantasy game last time out but had a flukey seven steals. That said, he’ll absorb some of that Oubre usage and makes for a decent GPP option here as well. From the Clippers, at the moment it looks like both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are going to play. When they both play I really don’t have a whole lot of interest in either of them since they cut into each other’s usage, but they are both very solid secondary options in a great matchup. The other thing that happens when they’re both active is I basically fully fade both Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell as they just don’t see the usage or shots to pay off their price tags. b

5-star play: None

4-star play: Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, DeAndre Ayton, Devin Booker, Ricky Rubio

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: DeAndre Ayton, Devin Booker, Ricky Rubio

Boston Celtics @ Utah Jazz

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Celtics, it sounds like Kemba Walker will miss this game as well, here is how the rest of the team grades out with him off the court this season…

  • Jayson Tatum – 32.5% usage rate; 1.31 fpm
  • Marcus Smart – 20.4% usage rate; 1.04 fpm
  • Jaylen Brown – 26.6% usage rate; 1.00 fpm
  • Gordon Hayward – 22.4% usage rate; 1.04 fpm

The matchup isn’t ideal, as the Jazz are one of the better defensive teams in the league. But I have no issue going to any of those guys with Kemba still out, Daniel Theis makes for a decent option as well, but Gobert is pretty tough down low for him to handle. From the Jazz, Rudy Gobert is not in good form right now but should be able to bounce back here pretty nicely as the Celtics have struggled with opposing big men this season. Donovan Mitchell has scored at least 42 DraftKings points in three of his last four games. The Celtics play opposing wings pretty tough, so he’s more of a GPP guy. The same can be said for Bojan Bogdanovic who has been a bit volatile as of late. Lastly, Mike Conley laid an egg last game with eight DraftKings points, I won’t talk you off of trying to get him on the bounce back at low ownership here.

5-star play: Jayson Tatum

4-star play: Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley, Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Jordan Clarkson, Daniel Theis
