Full Court Press:

Sacramento Kings @ Los Angeles Clippers

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

This is the lone early game on the night, so if you want to play this one you’ll have to play the showdown slate. We will have a Showdown Cheat Sheet for this game, so check it out for a deeper dive on this one! Starting with the Kings, I like De’Aaron Fox here in what should be a decently paced game, it’s not the greatest matchup, but he’s got a proven ceiling against most teams in the league. Nemanja Bjelica is also a great play here at a very nice price with Bagley and Holmes out again, the Clippers struggle with the center position making this a great opportunity for them to funnel him the ball. The same can be said for Buddy Hield who is pretty volatile which is why I’ll leave him for GPPs, he may also draw Kawhi on defense. Lastly, Bogdan Bogdanovic has his minutes all over the place, he’s a deep GPP option at best. From the Clippers, Paul George is out for this game, here is how the rest of the team plays out…

  • Kawhi Leonard – 36.8% usage rate; 1.62 fpm
  • Lou Williams – 30.3% usage rate; 1.18 fpm
  • Montrezl Harrell – 26.9% usage rate; 1.21 fpm

These are the three guys that will pick up most of the slack and the guys you will want from this team.

5-star play: Lou Williams, Kawhi Leonard

4-star play: Buddy Hield, Nemanja Bjelica, De’Aaron Fox, Montrezl Harrell, Ivica Zubac

Deeper Value: Harry Giles

GPP Sleeper: Buddy Hield, Bogdan Bogdanovic

Brooklyn Nets @ Charlotte Hornets

Vegas Total: 212

Vegas Spread: Bkn -3.5

Starting with the Nets, Kyrie is out again here meaning Caris LeVert and Spencer Dinwiddie will pick up the slack in the backcourt. Dinwiddie is averaging 40.1 DraftKings points per game in three games against the Hornets this season, that said, I do like the price on him as he has a 31.8% usage rate and 1.22 fantasy points per minute with Kyrie out this season. LeVert is right there with Dinwiddie with a 31% usage rate and 1.09 fantasy points per minute, that said, I prefer Dinwiddie for cash and LeVert for GPP due to volatility. That pretty much concludes my interest in this team outside of GPP darts on Joe Harris and Taurean Prince. From the Hornets, Devonte’ Graham is averaging 44.4 DraftKings points in three games against the Nets this season. I don’t love the pace in this game, but his success in this matchup is enough to get me interested. Terry Rozier has seen his form face plant and is price/ranking go with it, he’s more of a secondary GPP option. Miles Bridges was on a bit of a heater before the all-star break and actually performed quite well in the Rising Stars Challenge, he’s playing a lot of minutes right now and isn’t a bad GPP option. Marvin Williams was bought out by the Hornets and led PJ Washington to see more minutes, that said, he has not been all that productive with Williams gone, he did perform well against the Bulls in 30 minutes last time out, however. Lastly, Malik Monk has seen good minutes lately and makes sense as a secondary option as well.

5-star play: Spencer Dinwiddie, Devonte’ Graham

4-star play:  Caris LeVert, Miles Bridges, PJ Washington

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Jarrett Allen, Taurean Prince, Joe Harris

Dallas Mavericks @ Atlanta Hawks

Vegas Total: 239

Vegas Spread: Dal -6.0

Starting with the Hawks, Trae Young gets a very difficult matchup with one of the best teams in the league against opposing guards, however, he has shown he’s matchup proof this season, he’s a great GPP option as he’s scored 70+ DraftKings points in two of his last four games. John Collins scored 40.8 DraftKings points in this matchup earlier this season and I would expect his rebound equity to stay increased while Clint Capela is still sidelined. Kevin Huerter is playing all the minutes he can handle right now and makes for a great play in all formats although his price is starting to get up there. From the Mavericks, this is an incredible spot for Luka Doncic and may be one of the first players in my lineup. This is a massive pace up game and really a pretty small spread, he should do whatever he wants here. I’m really not big on the rest of this team, Porzingis sees his usage go way down with Doncic on the court, although he has scored 56+ DraftKings points in two straight games. Tim Hardaway is more of a GPP option due to his volatility and since most of the backcourt usage will funnel to Doncic.

5-star play: Trae Young, Luka Doncic

4-star play: Kevin Huerter, John Collins, Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway

Deeper Value: Maxi Kleber

GPP Sleeper: John Collins, Kevin Huerter, Kristaps Porzingis, Seth Curry

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Miami Heat

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Heat, Jimmy Butler has scored at least 45 DraftKings points in two of his last three games and gets a pretty good matchup here, I have no issue going with him in a game he should be able to control. Bam Adebayo is coming off a massive game against the Hawks in which he dropped nearly 70 DraftKings points. Andre Drummond defense does not scare me one bit, I have no issue going right back to Adebayo here for tournaments. Jae Crowder is playing great for his new team and I don’t hate going right back to him here, he’s playing big minutes and doing a lot with them. Lastly, Goran Dragic and Kendrick Nunn are more of a GPP option now that Butler is back. From the Cavaliers, Andre Drummond is not getting the minutes that he was in Detroit and has played just 22 in each of his last two games. I can’t play him until either his price comes down or his minutes go up, his upside is just too limited in such a small amount of minutes. Kevin Love’s minutes have been all over the place as well, maybe we chalk this up to a new coach, but this is a situation I’m avoiding until we get some clarity. Collin Sexton is the one guy playing consistent minutes right now but probably gets Jimmy Butler on defense which is enough to make me lose a good amount of interest. Tristan Thompson has been getting more minutes than newly acquired Drummond which makes zero sense, but performing well nonetheless, you can make a case for him in deep GPPs.

5-star play: Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo

4-star play: Goran Dragic, Kendrick Nunn, Andre Drummond

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Goran Dragic, Kendrick Nunn, Andre Drummond, Kevin Love, Collin Sexton, Tristan Thompson

Phoenix Suns @ Chicago Bulls

Vegas Total: 219.5

Vegas Spread: Pho -1.5

Starting with the Suns, DeAndre Ayton should have no issue doing what he wants here. The Bulls are still very banged up especially in their frontcourt, I expect Ayton to come out and destroy this team, he’s playing big minutes and is a great play here. Devin Booker and Zach LaVine should make for a fun scoring matchup, Booker has come back down to Earth a bit but I still think he shoots a ton here and makes sense for GPPs at the very least. Kelly Oubre is not in good form at all but we know he can pop off for a 50 burger at a moment’s notice which keeps him on my GPP radar. Lastly, Ricky Rubio seems to be getting back up to speed, I still think he’s priced a bit too high but I don’t hate it for GPPs. From the Bulls, Zach LaVine went into the All-Star break with a 63 point fantasy outing against the Wizards and scored 45 fantasy points while going 1-7 from three in his first game out of the break, he’s going to be a scoring threat and makes for a great play here. Thad Young had a massive 48 point fantasy outing against the Hornets, I wouldn’t expect that again here but I don’t hate going back to him if you think he can stay hot. Tomas Satoransky has scored at least 28 DraftKings points in three straight games, again, don’t love the pace which makes him a secondary play. Coby White is playing pretty big minutes and has at least 35 DraftKings points in two of his last four games and makes sense as a nice GPP option.

5-star play: Zach LaVine, DeAndre Ayton

4-star play: Miles Bridges, Tomas Satoransky, Thad Young, Devin Booker, Ricky Rubio, Kelly Oubre

Deeper Value: Luke Kornet

GPP Sleeper: Coby White, Kelly Oubre, Ricky Rubio

Philadelphia 76ers @ Milwaukee Bucks

Vegas Total: 226.5

Vegas Spread: Mil -8.5

Starting with the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo returned from a two-game absence last game and put up a 67.5 fantasy point outing. He has destroyed the Sixers in the past two seasons and is averaging 75.65 DraftKings points per game in five games against them since 2019. Khris Middleton is priced as if Giannis is still out, so he’s pretty much a fade for me although still was able to score 46 fantasy points against the Pistons last game. Eric Bledsoe’s price is a little more appealing but still nothing that I’m overly thrilled about. The same can be said for Brook Lopez, although the matchup against Embiid really doesn’t scare me. From the Sixers, just as Giannis has dominated the Sixers, Joel Embiid has pretty well dominated the Bucks, averaging 66.95 DraftKings points per game in those five games. He’s an elite play as well. Ben Simmons is probable here and has scored at least 47 DraftKings points in four straight games, not a bad option as he’s playing all the minutes he can handle right now. Tobias Harris is in good form and has scored at least 41 DraftKings points in four of his last five games, he’s a solid secondary option. Lastly, Josh Richardson is still too cheap for the number of minutes he’s going to get.

5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons

4-star play: Brook Lopez, Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe, Josh Richardson, Tobias Harris

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Eric Bledsoe, Khris Middleton, Donte DiVincenzo, Al Horford

Houston Rockets @ Utah Jazz

Vegas Total: 235

Vegas Spread: Utah -2.5

Starting with the Rockets, James Harden scored 66.5 DraftKings points in this game earlier this season, I don’t love the matchup but there’s no arguing with the upside that he brings to the table. Russell Westbrook scored 55 DraftKings points in this spot and has scored 55+ in three of his last four games, I don’t hate him here either. Lastly, Robert Covington makes a lot of sense as well as I love his role on this team, they will space the floor and allow him to shoot a bunch of three’s and recover loose balls. As a value option, Jeff Green played 24 minutes in his first game with the team, he’s worth keeping an eye on. From the Jazz, this should be a spot where Rudy Gobert takes advantage of this team as they don’t have a real big man, but he hasn’t, he has struggled with the Rockets going small and I will not ride the chalk train if he ends up drawing a ton of ownership. Donovan Mitchell is averaging 45.8 DraftKings points per game in two games against the Jazz this season, tough not to like him in a 235 total. This is a great spot for Bojan Bogdanovic as well, although he’s priced pretty much where he should be. Keep an eye on the status of Mike Conley, he seems to need more rest than the All-Star Break allowed, don’t as me why. But if he misses it opens up productive minutes for Jordan Clarkson and Joe Ingles who would both become solid plays in a fast-paced game.

5-star play: James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Donovan Mitchell

4-star play: Robert Covington, Bojan Bogdanovic, Joe Ingles, Jordan Clarkson, Rudy Gobert

Deeper Value: Jeff Green

GPP Sleeper: Rudy Gobert
