Full Court Press:

Detroit Pistons @ Orlando Magic

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Pistons, Andre Drummond was traded to the Cavs which opens up a ton of usage and minutes in that frontcourt. We saw both Thon Maker and Christian Wood in three games without Drummond since the deadline, but it seems as if Wood will be the more consistent producer. That said, they have both had two good games with one dud game. I was expecting John Henson to take more of Maker’s minutes than he has, but Henson has been good on a point per-minute basis. Wood is seeing 1.27 fantasy points per minute with Drummond off the court this season and makes a lot of sense as the new starting big man for this team. Reggie Jackson is in pretty good form but has gotten to a price where I really don’t love him especially if Derrick Rose plays, he’s currently questionable. From the Magic, Nikola Vucevic is coming off back-to-back 50 burgers and gets a great matchup here with this frontcourt taking a big hit. This is the type of spot where Aaron Gordon should be able to take advantage and is in pretty good form, I have no issue with him for GPPs. The same can be said for Markelle Fultz. Lastly, Evan Fournier makes sense as a secondary option and should be able to get up a decent amount of shots.

5-star play: Nikola Vucevic

4-star play: Markelle Fultz, Aaron Gordon, Evan Fournier, Christian Wood, Reggie Jackson

Deeper Value: John Henson

GPP Sleeper: Aaron Gordon, Markelle Fultz, Thon Maker

Atlanta Hawks @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Hawks, Trae Young came back down to Earth last game but is still playing an insane amount of minutes with a massive upside, he’s a great GPP play at the very least. John Collins has scored 40+ DraftKings points in seven of his last eight games, this frontcourt has quickly become massive and not the best matchup, so at this inflated price tag, he’s strictly GPP for me. Kevin Huerter is playing all the minutes he can handle right now and makes for a great play in all formats although his price is starting to get up there, but has scored 32.5 DraftKings points in this spot once already this season. From the Cavs, Andre Drummond saw 29 minutes in his first game with the Cavs and scored 47.5 DraftKings points, he’s a great play here while the Hawks are still missing Capela. Kevin Love is currently questionable here, keep an eye on his status if he can’t go Larry Nance will see a huge boost. Speaking of Nance, he quickly saw his minutes fall with Drummond now on the team, he can be faded unless one of these guys is out in the future. Collin Sexton had his first bad game in a while against the Clippers last time out, but in a huge pace up spot, I like going right back to him here. Lastly, Tristan Thompson can also be faded with Drummond sliding into the starting lineup.

5-star play: Trae Young, Andre Drummond

4-star play: Kevin Huerter, John Collins, Collin Sexton

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: John Collins, Kevin Love

Washington Wizards @ New York Knicks

Vegas Total: 228.5

Vegas Spread: Nyk -2.5

Starting with the Wizards, Bradley Beal is the guy on this team and playing a ton of minutes. I don’t necessarily love the spot but he’s got one of the better upsides combined with a floor on the slate, he’s a great play. Davis Bertans had a pretty bad game last night and saw his price go up, I don’t hate him for GPPs here in case he can get hot from the field. With Thomas Bryant likely out until after the break, Rui Hachimura and Mo Wagner will take these center minutes and are both good plays at their respective price tags. From the Knicks, Julius Randle is coming off a massive 64.5 Draftkings points against the Hawks and in another pace up spot here I like going right back to him even at an elevated price tag, he sees a heavy boost with Marcus Morris off the team. Elfrid Payton continues to put up big DFS games and in a good spot against a terrible defense I have no issue going right back to him here, he’s playing a ton of minutes. Mitchell Robinson played 35 minutes in their last game as it went to double OT, so I’m not expecting those minutes again here and I’m expecting some people to chase those points, he’s a pretty easy fade for me on a big slate.

5-star play: Bradley Beal, Julius Randle

4-star play: Davis Bertans, Elfrid Payton, Rui Hachimura

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Mo Wagner, Davis Bertans

Milwaukee Bucks @ Indiana Pacers

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Bucks, we have some early news that Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss this game due to his baby being born on Monday night. By now we know the rules when Giannis is out, we play the rest of these guys. here is how the Bucks fare with Giannis off the court this season…

  • Khris Middleton – 33.8% usage rate; 1.49 fpm
  • Eric Bledsoe – 33.0% usage rate; 1.50 fpm
  • Ersan Ilyasova – 15.7% usage rate; 1.01 fpm
  • Brook Lopez – 21.7% usage rate; 1.03 fpm

All of these guys are elite plays in all formats, I would prefer to leave Lopez for GPPs however. I would expect Ersan to draw the start as he did on Monday night, don’t overthink this one. From the Pacers, I like this spot quite a bit for Domantas Sabonis who gets a better matchup with Giannis out, he’s also averaging 46.8 DraftKings points in two games against the Bucks. Malcolm Brogdon gets a revenge game against his old team in which he scored 29.8 DraftKings points earlier this season, I like him here but more of a secondary play. TJ Warren is all over the place with his production, he’s strictly a GPP guy. Victor Oladipo saw his price come up after last game but still isn’t where we want him to be in terms of points per minute, he’s a GPP play in case he gets 30+ minutes. Lastly, you can make a case for Myles Turner in GPPs as well, however, he’s played well in this matchup this season averaging 34.3 DraftKings points.

5-star play: Domantas Sabonis, Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe

4-star play: Malcolm Brogdon, Myles Turner, Ersan Ilyasova, Brook Lopez

Deeper Value: Pat Connaughton

GPP Sleeper: TJ Warren, Jeremy Lamb, Myles Turner, Brook Lopez

Toronto Raptors @ Brooklyn Nets

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Raptors, Kyle Lowry returned last game and went nuts against the Timberwolves, this is another great matchup for him so I don’t mind going right back to him in hopes that he can stay hot. Fred VanVleet continues to play a boatload of minutes and producing very consistently, he’s a solid play here as well. This is a great Pascal Siakam spot, targeting big men against the Nets has been profitable all season and he’s coming off a massive 56.5 fantasy outing. He sees a big usage and production increase if Ibaka is forced to sit again. Serge Ibaka is in play if Gasol is out again, but if Gasol is in I’ll likely fade both. Lastly, OG Anunoby is also coming off a 50 burger but has seen his price skyrocket, I probably won’t be chasing that game, he shot 77%… I’m willing to bet he doesn’t do that again here. From the Nets, Kyrie is out again here meaning Caris LeVert and Spencer Dinwiddie will pick up the slack in the backcourt. Dinwiddie has back-to-back games of at least 47 DraftKings points, it’s not a great matchup, but he scored 47.5 fantasy points while shooting 4-15 and 0-7 from three last game… imagine if he made some shots. LeVert had a bit of a dud game last time out but the minutes are there along with the usage, I’ll go right back to him in GPPs. That pretty much concludes my interest in this team on an 11 game slate.

5-star play: Pascal Siakam

4-star play:  Serge Ibaka, Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, Caris LeVert, Spencer Dinwiddie

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Jarrett Allen, Taurean Prince

Charlotte Hornets @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Vegas Total: 226

Vegas Spread: Min -7.5

Starting with the Wolves, D’Angelo Russell played his first game with the Wolves last time out and played 32 minutes on his way to 30 DraftKings points. I think he’s a bit too expensive right now as I expect him to lose usage to KAT, but he’s fine for GPPs in a good matchup. Karl-Anthony Towns has 50+ DraftKings points in four of his last five games, the Hornets don’t have anyone that can stop him, he’s a great play in all formats.  Jarrett Culver is in terrible form and is a fade for me until he figures some things out. Juancho Hernangomez has played at least 27 minutes in his two games with the Wolves, I love the price on him, he’s a great value option. Lastly, it looks like the wolves may have found their new two-guard in Malik Beasley, he’s getting good minutes for this team and makes sense as a secondary option. From the Hornets, Devonte’ Graham has scored at least 46 DraftKings points in back to back games and in a huge pace up matchup here he’s tough not to like. Terry Rozier isn’t in the best form but he is averaging 30.3 DraftKings points per game against the Wolves this season, he makes sense as a secondary option. Miles Bridges is on some kind of heater over the past five games scoring at least 34 DraftKings points in three of them. Marvin Williams was bought out by the Hornets and led PJ Washington to see more minutes, he got 36 minutes last game and if he gets that consistently will be a favorite of mine. I love him for GPPs in case this minute increase is legit.

5-star play: Karl-Anthony Towns

4-star play: Malik Beasley, Juancho Hernangomez, Devonte’ Graham, Terry Rozier, Miles Bridges

Deeper Value: Juancho Hernangomez

GPP Sleeper: Malik Beasley, PJ Washington

Portland Trailblazers @ Memphis Grizzlies

Vegas Total: 235.5

Vegas Spread: Mem -3.5

Starting with the Blazers, this will be one of the faster games on the slate which means more DFS production. Damian Lillard had a dud game last night but I expect him to bounce back nicely here, he’s scored 55+ fantasy points in two of his last four games. Hassan Whiteside was on his way to a huge game last night but was pulled a minute into the fourth quarter because they were losing so bad, I like his odds to carry on here and stay hot. CJ McCollum makes sense as a secondary option in all formats in a fast-paced game. While Carmelo Anthony is a GPP guy as he needs to shoot well in order to really exceed value. From the Grizzlies, I love Jonas Valanciunas here. I will continue to stream centers against Whiteside as he is a turnstile on defense. Zion dropped a 50 burger on him last night and Jonas has a massive upside. Ja Morant dropped a 62.5 point triple-double last time out and I have no issue going right back to him here if you think he can stay hot. Jaren Jackson has 30+ DraftKings points in three of his last four games and is a GPP guy due to his volatility. Lastly, both Dillon Brooks and Brandon Clarke are secondary GPP options in a fast-paced game.

5-star play: Damian Lillard, Hassan Whiteside, Ja Morant, Jonas Valanciunas

4-star play: CJ McCollum, Jaren Jackson, Carmelo Anthony

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Carmelo Anthony, Jaren Jackson, Dillon Brooks, Brandon Clarke

Sacramento Kings @ Dallas Mavericks

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Kings, I like De’Aaron Fox scored 56.8 DraftKings points in this spot earlier this season and had a great game last time out against the Bucks, I like going with him if you think he can stay hot here. Nemanja Bjelica is also a great play here at a very nice price with Bagley and Holmes out again, he’s scored at least 33 DraftKings points in three straight games. The same can be said for Buddy Hield who is pretty volatile which is why I’ll leave him for GPPs. Lastly, Bogdan Bogdanovic has played at least 30 minutes in three of his last four games and makes sense as a GPP guy at this price tag. From the Mavs, it sounds like Luka Doncic will return here, I will likely take a wait and see approach on this one and see if he’s either rusty or on some kind of minute limit. Doncic coming back kills the value of Kristaps Porzingis at this price tag, he’s probably $2k too expensive with Doncic on the court. We will also see Jalen Brunson and Seth Curry’s production come back down as well. Tim Hardaway still makes sense as a GPP option, but another guy that feels too expensive. This team is mostly a fade for me here.

5-star play: De’Aaron Fox

4-star play: Buddy Hield, Nemanja Bjelica

Deeper Value: Harry Giles

GPP Sleeper: Luka Doncic

Miami Heat @ Utah Jazz

Vegas Total: 217.5

Vegas Spread: Utah -4.5

Starting with the Jazz, Rudy Gobert scored 54 DraftKings points in this spot earlier this season, I have no issue going right back to Gobert here in case he can stay hot against them. Donovan Mitchell actually played decent in this spot earlier this season, but I just don’t like the matchup with Jimmy Butler, he’s a fade for me. Bojan Bogdanovic continues to play at a high level, I like him in all formats, if he gets hot he has a decent GPP ceiling as well. Mike Conley was a surprise scratch on Monday night, he’s currently questionable, so keep an eye on his status, if he needs to sit again in it will be a boost to Joe Ingles who will likely get the start. From the Heat, Jimmy Butler scored 36.5 DraftKings points in this spot earlier this season. This is a tough spot for the whole team and Butler is no exception. Gobert is one of the best interior defenders in the game yet Bam Adebayo was able to drop 55 DraftKings points against him earlier this season, I won’t talk you off of him for GPPs. Jae Crowder is playing great for his new team and I don’t hate going right back to him here, he’s playing big minutes and doing a lot with them. Lastly, Goran Dragic is more of a GPP option now that Butler is back.

5-star play: None

4-star play:  Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell, Bojan Bogdanovic, Bam Adebayo, Jae Crowder, Jimmy Butler

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Bojan Bogdanovic, Donovan Mitchell, Bam Adebayo

Golden State Warriors @ Phoenix Suns

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Warriors, we’ve got a lot to dig into, as they’ve traded Russell, Robinson, and Burks at the deadline. Andrew Wiggins looked pretty good in his first game as a Warrior but came back with a bit of a dud last game. He’s strictly a GPP guy and I’m not sure the Warriors know what they got themselves into. Draymond Green should be good to go here, I don’t necessarily love him either but is a triple-double threat anytime he takes the court. Damion Lee finally got some good minutes last game, I would expect this to continue with this team being light on playable guards and wings, he’s a fine GPP flier. Lastly, Marquese Chriss is really playing great basketball and this spot really doesn’t worry me… OH, AND IT’S A REVENGE GAME BABY! Lol, that said he’s a solid GPP option if you want a piece of the Warriors. From the Suns, DeAndre Ayton missed their last game with an ankle injury. He’s currently questionable here but if he plays I like him even in a great matchup if he doesn’t have any kind of limitations. This is a pretty elite spot for Devin Booker as he is averaging 45.6 DraftKings points in two games against the Warriors this season. Kelly Oubre, on the other hand, is struggling in those two matchups, I still love the ceiling on him and completely fine with going with him in GPPs. That basically concludes my interest on this team until Ricky Rubio gets back into form.

5-star play: Devin Booker

4-star play: Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green, Marquese Chriss, DeAndre Ayton, Kelly Oubre

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Marquese Chriss, Andre Wiggins

Los Angeles Lakers @ Denver Nuggets

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

This should be a pretty good real basketball game with two of the better teams in the Western Conference, that said it should also be a very slow game so from a DFS point it may not bet the best game. However, I can think of at least three players that are worth mentioning. Starting with the Lakers, this is a tough spot for both LeBron James and Anthony Davis, but they are both matchup proof. I prefer them for GPPs as I think there are better plays on this slate. The only other Laker that I really have any interest in is Kyle Kuzma but he’s more of a GPP flier if anything, not a guy that I’m in love with on a big slate. From the Nuggets, the only guys I have interest in are Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic for GPPs, as I said I really don’t like this game for DFS purposes.

5-star play: LeBron James, Anthony Davis

4-star play: Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Kyle Kuzma, Jamal Murray
