Zadelstein’s Thursday Night College Football Breakdown (October 31)

We are 2 months through the season and things are starting to get interesting!!!  We get a great little slate on Thursday with 2 games with spreads over 2 TDs.  This will be an interesting slate as all 4 teams have average to above-average defenses.  Be sure to head on over to DFS Army and join the coaches and all the wonderful members in our coaching channels where we break down late-breaking news and our top plays.  You can get 20% of your monthly subscription fee by using the code ZADE!

QB

Charlie Brewer (DK $7,800/FD $10,000)

Charlie Brewer has been a low key DFS star this year for Baylor.  He has 5 games over 25 DK points and continues to shine both on the ground and through the air.  He has the highest ITT on this small slate which should bode well for his fantasy production.  He is expensive but nowhere near too expensive to play in all formats.

Austin Kendall (DK $6,800/FD $8,500)

Kendall has had a very up and down year, with some great 30+ fantasy point games and some under 10 point games.  He is going up against a very good pass defense that has not allowed more than 20 fantasy points to opposing defenses all year.  That being said, if West Virginia can keep up with Baylor and turn this into a shootout, Kendall could have a great day.

RB

Darrynton Evans (DK $7,200/FD $9,400)

Evans is the only RB on the slate with double-digit carries every game this year.  He is averaging 5.8 yards per carry and has been included in the passing game a little more lately.  Georgia Southern is good against the run, allowing only 3.6 yards per carry, but on this short slate 3 of the 4 rush defenses are top 45 in opponent’s yards per rush.  He is the safest RB on the slate.

J.D. King (DK $5,500/FD $8,600)

King has at least 19 carries in each of the last 3 games for a Georgia Southern team that likes to spread around carries.  Teammate Wesley Kennedy III has been more productive the last 2 games but King has been the most consistent in terms of carries.  They go up against an Appalachian State rush defense that is allowing 4 yards per carry but on this short slate, I think King is a great play.

WR

TJ Simmons (DK $5,800/FD $8,300)

Simmons has played great the last 3 games, even against pretty good pass defenses.  He is going up against another good pass defense but he will have to step up for West Virginia to stay in the game.  He has a pretty nice floor of about 15 fantasy points those last 3 games and has a 25+ point ceiling.  If he can maintain that production, he is a great play on this short slate.

Thomas Hennigan (DK $5,700/FD $7,900)

Hennigan leads Appalachian State in targets, receptions, yards and TDs.  He has a ceiling around 20 DK points but he has TDs in back to back games.  With not as many options at WR, I really like using Hennigan in all formats, especially where he is cheaper on FD.  Facing a good run defense, the Mountaineers might have to air it out a little more than usual.
