Full Court Press:

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Indiana Pacers

Vegas Total: 211

Vegas Spread: Ind -7.5

We will kick this slate off with the Cleveland Cavaliers Kevin Love has seen his price came way up after a 53 point Draftkings game. I don’t love the matchup and think he’s pretty close to the top of his price range. I think there are better plays on this slate with price considered. Tristan Thompson just keeps putting up double-doubles and has at least 40 Draftkings points in three straight games, it’s not the best matchup but he’s just too cheap right now. The rest of this lineup is really just full of GPP plays and with a low implied total and a tough Indy defense, I don’t see myself getting to a lot here. From the Pacers, Malcolm Brogdon keeps putting up massive games and is now averaging 51 Draftkings points per game this season. His price has come way up but just put up 54 Draftkings points against this Cavs team last week. He’s a solid play. Domantas Sabonis is finally getting the minutes we hoped for all last season, getting at least 33 in every game. He has gone for 40+ in three of his four games and gets a nice matchup here. With Myles Turner out for the foreseeable future, we may see TJ Warren move over to the four while Sabonis plays center. I always like Warren when he sees a bump in usage.

5-star plays: Tristan Thompson, Malcolm Brogdon, Domantas Sabonis

4-star plays: Kevin Love, TJ Warren

Deeper Value: Goga Bitadze

GPP Sleeper: Jordan Clarkson, Darius Garland, Collin Sexton

Houston Rockets @ Brooklyn Nets

Vegas Total: 241

Vegas Spread: Hou -3.5

Alright, so this game has a massive total and is what I’m expecting as the highest implied total on the slate so we will want to find some plays here. From the Rockets we know who the main guys are and they are Russell Westbrook and James Harden. Harden’s price went way up after his 79 point Draftkings pointing while Russell Westbrook is slowly getting there now that he is averaging 58.5 Draftkings points per game. All this usage leaves very little for the ancillary pieces on this team, but streaming centers against the Nets has already proven profitable this season as they rank 29th against opposing centers, so Clint Capela is in play. PJ Tucker and Eric Gordon make sense as mid-range plays here as well. From the Nets, Kyrie Irving is the man here, the Rockets rank 27th against opposing point guards on the season. Kyrie is also averaging 57.8 Draftkings points per game this season and is really this whole offense, he’s a great play. Caris LeVert has been a bit all over the place but the price and minutes are there for him, so I don’t hate going with him. Spencer Dinwiddie has gone for at least 30 Draftkings points in three of his last games and will have the opportunity to play in a paced-up game here. Really the only guys I don’t love here are Jarrett Allen and DeAndre Jordan because of the matchup with Capela, but I still wouldn’t talk you off of that. This game is fantasy gold.

5-star play: Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Kyrie Irving

4-star play: Clint Capela, PJ Tucker, Eric Gordon, Spencer Dinwiddie, Taurean Prince

Deeper Value: Danuel House

GPP Sleeper: Jarrett Allen

Milwaukee Bucks @ Orlando Magic

Vegas Total: 216

Vegas Spread: Mil -5.0

The Bucks did not look great in their last game against the Celtics but I expect they get things figured out here. As we all know, Giannis Antetokounmpo is the man on this team and leads the team with a 32% usage rate. The Magic have absolutely nobody that can guard him, I expect a big game from the freak here. Another day, another same old boring write-up on Khris Middleton, if you want 35-40 Draftkings points, he’s your man. Eric Bledsoe may do this ting where he acts like an elite point guard one day and then sucks the next all season long, he’s a GPP play here. This isn’t the best matchup for Brook Lopez so he’s also in that GPP territory. The guys I do like here are the value guys like George Hill and Wesley Matthews, both are playing very solid minutes. From the Magic, it’s really just Nikola Vucevic here for me in GPPs, this is a tough matchup for them as a team.

5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo, George Hill (value)

4-star play: Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, Eric Bledsoe, Nikola Vucevic

Deeper Value: George Hill, Wesley Matthews, Markelle Fultz

GPP Sleeper: Eric Bledsoe, Brook Lopez, Nikola Vucevic

New York Knicks @ Boston Celtics

Vegas Total: 213

Vegas Spread: Bos -10

Starting with the Knicks, we kind of know the story with them. We can trust the guys getting the consistent minutes, but the others are considered GPP plays. RJ Barrett and Julius Randle are really the only ones getting consistently big minutes while Bobby Portis is sneaking his way up there with playing at least 27 minutes in three straight. Mitchell Robinson is normally around that 20 minute mark, but is an elite point per minute guy. This is a tough defensive team in the Celtics but RJ Barrett is certainly interesting as the Celtics rank 28th in defense against opposing point guards (Kemba plays very little defense). From the Celtics, Kemba Walker has scored 40+ Draftkings points in three straight games after a dud in the opener. This is an elite matchup for him and a great play across the board. Jayson Tatum, Gordon Hayward, and Jaylen Brown all have great matchups as well, but keep an eye on the status of Jaylen Brown as he is listed as questionable for this game. I would expect Daniel Theis to be available for this game which makes him a solid value play and kind of cuts the necessity for the Williams’ on this team.

5-star play: Julius Randle, RJ Barrett, Kemba Walker

4-star play: Jayson Tatum, Gordon Hayward, Jaylen Brown, Mitchell Robinson, Bobby Portis

Deeper Value: Daniel Theis

GPP Sleeper: Bobby Portis, Mitchell Robinson, Kevin Knox

Detroit Pistons @ Chicago Bulls

Vegas Total: 218.5

Vegas Spread: Chi -2.5

Starting with the banged up Pistons, Andre Drummond is the guy for this team and has a 25.2% usage rate on the season to go along with a 1.45 fantasy point per minute. This is a great matchup for him and is an elite play. Derrick Rose returns home here and is one of my favorite bench guys in the league. He completely takes over on the second unit with a 34.8% usage rate, I love him in this matchup as well. Luke Kennard continues to play minutes around 30 and with Reggie Jackson out he should be in consideration here as well. The rest of this team is more GPP than anything on this slate. From the Bulls, Zach LaVine draws tough matchup as the Pistons rank first against opposing shooting guards so maybe it’s a Lauri Markkanen game, although he will have his hands full with trying to help Wendell Carter cover Drummond. Coby White has cooled off after starting the season on an absolute tear, he’s a GPP play here too.

5-star play: Andre Drummond, Derrick Rose, Lauri Markkanen

4-star play: Luke Kennard, Wendell Carter Jr., Zach LaVine

Deeper Value: Tomas Satoransky, Christian Wood

GPP Sleeper: Coby White, Christian Wood

Los Angeles Lakers @ Dallas Mavericks

Vegas Total: 214.5

Vegas Spread: Lal -2.0

The Lakers basically start and end with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. They both have usage rates over 30%, but Anthony Davis has proven the higher upside this season, coming off of a 40 point and 20 rebound night. Both guys feel priced appropriately, but are not in the greatest matchups. Regardless they are both great plays due to their pure talent. Kyle Kuzma is expected to make his season debut here, but I’ll take a wait-and-see approach on him, as I don’t know how he’ll fit into this offense. Dwight Howard, Danny Green, and JaVale McGee are all GPP plays here. From the Mavs, Luka Doncic let us all down the other night which may bring his ownership down here. He has a 30% usage rate on the season and is a guy that is going to do it all for this team, he’s in a great spot at a very fair price tag. Kristaps Porzingis will have his hands full with Anthony Davis all night, I think we can wait for a better matchup on him. Maxi Kleber makes for a very solid value play to round things out as they’ll need his size against this big Lakers team.

5-star play: LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Luka Doncic

4-star play: Kristaps Porzingis, Maxi Kleber, Delon Wright

Deeper Value: Maxi Kleber

GPP Sleeper: Dwight Howard, Danny Green, JaVale McGee

Utah Jazz @ Sacramento Kings

Vegas Total: 214.0

Vegas Spread: Utah -5.5

Starting with the Jazz, Rudy Gobert has been up and down all season long but should get a nice matchup here against a banged up front court. That said, he did just put up 16 Draftkings points in this spot earlier this season, he’s a GPP play until further notice. Donovan Mitchell has a 28.5% usage rate and gets a matchup against a Kings team that plays little to no defense, I like Mitchell here. Mike Conley finally had a good game after stinking it up for the first three games, he’s more of a GPP play than anything for me. Bojan Bogdanovic and Joe Ingles are secondary plays for both cash and GPP here. On the other side of the ball, the Kings get a brutal matchup against one of the better defense teams in the league. De’Aaron Fox is coming off a nice game against the Hornets, but this is a much tougher matchup, he’s a GPP guy. Richaun Holmes has played at least 30 minutes in the last two games filling in for Marvin Bagley. I wish we could keep going back to him here, but this matchup is too tough for me to feel comfortable with it.

5-star play: Donovan Mitchell

4-star play: Rudy Gobert, De’Aaron Fox

Deeper Value: Emmanuel Mudiay

GPP Sleeper: Rudy Gobert, Bojan Bogdanovic, Joe Ingles, Mike Conley, Richaun Holmes, De’Aaron Fox

San Antonio Spurs @ Golden State Warriors

Vegas Total: 225

Vegas Spread: SA -4.5

We will start this one with the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge headline this team. I would lean with DeRozan here as LMA draws a very tough matchup against Draymond Green down low. I love DeJounte Murray here against a Warriors team that plays very little defense to opposing guards. You can put Derrick White and Bryn Forbes in that category as well. Rudy Gay is more of a “filler” guy, I have no issue playing him if he’s the guy you fall on with your last spot. From the Warriors, they are just a mess right now with Steph Curry out. I hesitate playing anyone from this team right now because they are so bad, but D’Angelo Russell should have all the usage in this offense next to guys like Jordan Poole, Glenn Robinson, and Willie Cauley-Stein all of which are GPP plays. Draymond Green isn’t really a usage guy and gets his points doing the peripheral things but is way too expensive for me on this slate.

5-star play: DeMar DeRozan, DeJounte Murray, D’Angelo Russell

4-star play: LaMarcus Aldridge, Derrick White, Bryn Forbes, Willie-Cauley Stein, Glenn Robinson

Deeper Value: Willie-Cauley Stein, Jordan Poole, Glenn Robinson

GPP Sleeper: LaMarcus Aldridge, Draymond Green
