Race Info

This week the Xfinity Series makes their yearly trip to Kansas Speedway to kick off the final round of the Xfinity Series playoffs. Kansas is a super important race for the playoff drivers as a good day increases their chances at a championship shot at Homestead. Due to the similarities of Kansas and Homestead it is also a good preview for the championship final. Kansas is a 1.5 mile, tri-oval with progressive banking in the corners. Of all the 1.5 mile tracks it is the one that rewards mechanical grip and drivers abilities the most. Since the series started using stages the number of natural cautions has dropped in half. If this trend continues we will be looking at long run speed being crucial. As always the DFS Army Research Station will be available and the Domination Station will be available AFTER starting lineups are set.

The DFS Army will be bringing you tons of NASCAR coverage this weekend and throughout the rest of the year!! VIP members get elite coverage not just for NASCAR but for every sport. Be sure to check out all the NASCAR Cup Series VIP articles available on a weekly basis!!

Lineup Building

For this race you will look to use 1-2 dominators. Before John Hunter Nemechek won driving the #42 in this race last year Gibbs cars had won 5 straight races at Kansas. Of course this mean Christopher Bell will be a major threat. Tyler Reddick was the fast car in pretty much every measurable way during the two practice sessions and should be treat as the favorite to win. He has also had killer speed on this track type all year long. Cole Custer will also be a top contender for the win. He was Reddick’s closest competition in practice speed wise and has been strong on this track type all year long.

Mid to Low Tier

Going to start off by saying to ignore the fact that John Hunter Nemechek won this race last year. He was driving the #42 for Ganassi that was untouchable on the 1.5 mile tracks last year. He should be treated as a top 10 threat like every week. In this group we will look for cars who can either capture some solid place differential or finish towards the front. We get Ross Chastain driving the #10 for Kaulig at $9,00 as the most obvious top 5 threat based off practice speeds. Harrison Burton is in the #18 again this week for JGR and is another top 5 threat. Ryan Truex in the #8 for JRM and Alex Labbe in the #90 for DGR are two other important driver changes for this week.

The DFS Army has been crushing NASCAR contest all year. Get the edge on everyone else and join the DFS Army. Punts

Due to the high DNF rate all punts are playable to an extent. Kansas can be a bit challenging and as a result we see multiple top cars have wrecks. There are solid plays in general like Josh Bilicki taking over the #99 this week who will offer the highest upside of most punts. In this group we will look to avoid the start and parks. This is vital. Outside of that finding the drivers with the highest overall upside is the key. Utilizing the Research station to see practice speeds is a great way to help figure out which direction to go.

I will also answer any questions you may have in the VIP Slack!
