Race Info

Dover International Raceway is a high banked, one mile track that can be quite challenging especially for inexperienced drivers. One thing that is rather consistent is how tough the track is on the lower tier teams and their ability to finish the race. A combination of Long run speed, track position and Drivers who offer consistency will be the key. Elite teams absolutely dominate this track due to challenges the track presents. This will be the final race in round one of the playoffs. As always the DFS Army Research Station will be available and the Domination Station will be available AFTER starting lineups are set.

The DFS Army will be bringing you tons of NASCAR coverage this weekend and throughout the rest of the year!! VIP members get elite coverage not just for NASCAR but for every sport. Be sure to check out all the NASCAR Cup Series VIP articles available on a weekly basis!!

Lineup Building

Dominator / Top Tier

For this race we tend to see quite a few 1 dominator performances. Overall we will look to play 1-2 doms at most. The Joe Gibbs cars historically have been the best and I expect that to continue with Christopher Bell. Bell has won the last two races here. Justin Allgaier will be the other pre race favorite having finished inside the top 3 in 5 out of the last 6 Dover races. Cole Custer and Tyler Reddick have both shown great speed all year and will have outside chances at being a dominator/winner.

Mid to Low Tier

In this group we will look to attack the elite teams who posses top 10 upside. The majority of the time the top 10 will consist of drivers who qualified inside the top 10 as well. In the spring race this season 8 of the top 10 qualifiers started there. Drivers like Brandon Jones, Michael Annett, Zane Smith in the #8 and Harrison Burton in the #18 are key guys in this range. Finding the 1-2 drivers who also offer some place differential with their top 10 potential will be crucial for finding the winning combination.

Punts

Due to the high DNF rate all punts are playable to an extent. However, the high DNF rate is due to these bottom end team not being able to finish the entire race. Dover is rather tough on the equipment itself and many teams will end up falling out. Pick the right driver from this group and you could get some solid points but there is risk in taking any of these teams. Obviously you should avoid the start and parks teams no matter what.

I will also answer any questions you may have in the VIP Slack!
