Lineup Building

Round two of the Cup Series playoffs kicks off this week at Dover International Speedway. For the second time this year the high banked, one mile track will host the Cup Series. This week the series is running the 750 hp high downforce package. With the amount of downforce these cars are making these days we see very little in terms of wrecks. The cars simply handle too good. This means we will see some very long green flag runs. Long run speed will be important here. Keeping up with the changing track conditions will be as well. Often times here the main racing groove will start down low and work its way up to the top groove late in the race. This track doesn’t change much from year to year and is perhaps the best for looking at past results to help making lineup decisions. Of course the best place to see that info is our DFS Army Research Station.

Dominator / Top Tier

At 400 laps there are a TON of dominator points available. For the most part we see two dominators in every single race here with two drivers leading triple digit laps. Occasionally, we will see a third driver lead a solid portion of the race in the 50-80 lap range. If this third driver finishes towards the front it will likely mean the optimal lineup will end up needing all three main dominators. Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex and Chase Elliott have been the best here as of late. Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson have both put up great performances and are threats for the win as well.

Mid to Low Tier

This track rewards elite teams who have a top overall team setup. For example the Spring race here saw Hendrick Motorpsorts drivers Bowman, Elliott and Byron all finish inside the top 8. Essentially this means that if a team like HMS or Stewart Hass have mid priced drivers like Byron, Suarez, etc they are massive top 10 threats. Finding this value is important especially if they offer some place differential as well. This track rewards elite teams and setups and with the low crash rate in recent years we are seeing less overall variance.

The DFS Army members are crushing every sport due to our awesome coaches, Domination Station and Research Station. If you aren’t a member yet now is the time to join!! NFL in full swing, NHL and NBA starting up. Soccer, MMA, Golf, Tennis and of course the greatest sport of all NASCAR are still rocking and rolling. Punts

Due to the low DNF rate here and the fact that there is a massive separation between top cars and the back end cars punts are almost useless this week. All the traditional punts will struggle to break into the top 30 without some carnage. Corey Lajoie will likely possess the best upside of the group but even that will be limited overall. Of course if playing the three dominator strategy you may need to save some salary. If this is the case playing a punt to open things up is possible. Just need to try and maximize this play.

I will be giving my Fanduel Top Plays in a VIP article prior to the race.

I will also answer any questions you may have in the VIP Slack!
