In the list below the MLB Top Stacks, I will also list my Top5 at each position to give you more ideas on how to construct stacks today.

I use this sheet daily to help me identify top stacks on each slate
I’ve included the RAW number to show you the number that is being Ranked. This is the resulting number from my formula each day and should help illustrate exactly how much separation there is from team to team on the list. Some days there are very clear teams ranked in the Top 1 or 2. Other days they are grouped much tighter.
I’ve added a new Leverage Column, which is simply the Projection (minus) the Ownership. In theory, this should help us see who we can target at lower ownership and gain leverage on the field.

Rays
- They were chalk yesterday and dig, just ok scoring 5 runs but really didn’t blow up like we had hoped. Today, they get another juicy matchup against a crapy Orioles starter in Ty Blach. On the season, Blach has a 6.67 xFIP, and against lefties, he allows a 489/273 woba/iso while also giving up a 50% fly ball rate and 55% hard contact rate. Against righties he’s just as bad, allowing a 446/265 woba/iso with a 37% fly-ball rate and 50% hard contact rate. He’s not going to miss any bats, with just an 8% k rate vs lefties and a 19% k rate vs righties. The Rays currently have a middle of the pack Leverage rank of 12th so fading them is in play if you’re hoping they fail again here today.
Blue Jays
- The matchup against Mariners left-hander Justus Sheffield is tough to really break down because his sample size is so small. In his small sample, he’s been bad, allowing a 547 woba to lefties (5 batters faced) and 363 woba to righties (9 batters faced) but I don’t think we can put too much stock into these numbers honestly. What I can put stock into is the fact that the Jays are currently ranked 3rd in projection, and 8th in ownership which gives them the #2 leverage ranking on the slate for me. Even though they will be somewhat owned, they don’t seem to be getting as much ownership as they should, based on their protection.

Twins
- Drew VerHagen has not been good this season, and tonight he gets a matchup against one of the best all-around Offenses in the league in Minnesota. This season VerHagen has a 5.56 xFIP, and he allows a 436/186 woba/iso to lefties with a 48% hard contact rate. Against righties he’s not great either, giving up a 362/238 woba/iso with a 35% fly-ball rate and 35% hard contact rate. I currently have the Twins being the 2nd highest owned team so you won’t get a lot of leverage playing them in GPPs. That being said I think they are
Red Sox
- Currently, with the #6 projection rank and #16 ownership rank gives the Red Sox the #1 leverage rank on the slate. Despite ranking bad on my stacks chart, I think taking a few shots on a lineup like the Boston’s is worth the risk when they will be virtually unowned. The matchup against Chris Paddock is not a good one, which, along with their Salaries, is why their ownership is expected to be so low. That being said, if I’m going to take shots, taking a few shots with hitters of this caliber seems to make sense to me. While Chris Paddock has been solid, he’s not an Elite SP that I actively look to avoid, like Verlander, Scherzer and the rest.

Batter Rankings 08/23
These rankings are not site-specific and are intended to give you a solid pool of players to build your lineups from. I’m going to use the standard positions, Catcher through Outfield in these rankings so be aware of that if you’re constructing teams on Draftkings where some players can play multiple positions.
I will use the 😍 ADORE feature in the MLB Domination Station to increase the projection of each of these players by 15%. Doing this will allow me to get MORE of them throughout all of my lineups.
