Race Info

Eldora is considered by many to be the biggest race of the season for the Truck Series. The reason this race is special is due to the fact it is the only race run on a dirt track by any of the national touring series of NASCAR. There are several unique features to this race including the use of heat races. There will be five heat races and a Last Chance Qualifier that will be used to set the starting positions for the main race. Due to this being a one off event on a special track surface many specialist will be running in this race. The specialist run on dirt tracks year round as their primary form of racing. One major change to the in race action is that caution laps will not count during the stage breaks and there will also not be live pit stops. Drivers who choose to pit under these cautions will maintain their running position among the other drivers who pit. Any driver who stays out during these cautions will restart at the front of the field.

Contest notes

The main event will be the only race used for Draftkings scoring. There will be an ultra small window between the end of the Last Chance Qualifier and the lock for Draftkings. The DS will be up as fast as possible but please be aware that this will take a few minutes once final starting positions are set. Also, if you wait until the DS is up to enter lineup it may be too late. Be sure to reserve lineups if you feel like contest will fill.

Lineup Building

Dominator

You will look to play 1-2 dominators for this race. The normal race trend is for one driver to lead roughly 100 laps and the second dom to lead the remaining amount. The clear cut favorites will be Chase Briscoe and Stewart Friesen who both come front dirt racing backgrounds. Both drivers also have had strong dominator level performances in the past. Outside of that the Thorsport and KBM trucks have been the best over the short history of this race winning four of the six races.

The level of domination the DFSArmy has experienced this year in NASCAR has been unbelievable. Jump into the VIP Slack for great insight from ALL the NASCAR coaches.  If you aren’t already a part of  the winning culture then sign up to become a VIP Member and use code Xfinity to save 20%!!

Rest of lineup

There are generally very few long runs in this event due to numerous incidents many minor in nature. Due to this a lot of vehicles end up on the lead lap giving lots of late race potential to many drivers. Of course you will want to find to drivers with the most upside and the best place to start will be the guys who ran in the LCQ. While most of these drivers are in the LCQ because their trucks aren’t performing well there are also a few diamonds in this group. Last year alone saw John Hunter Nemechek and Noah Gragson start 26th and 27th and finish inside the top 10. Keep a close eye on the dirt specialist as they have the most experience with this kind of racing. Another tool that can be of great use is checking out the ARCA results over the last few years as they run races on dirt/clay surfaces.

For more information on each driver remember to check out the new VIP article called The Inside Line: Truck Series for this weeks race. If you are not already a VIP member sign up and use code LARKIN to save 20%!!
