DFS Madness’s Draftkings NBA Core 4 – Apr. 15th, 2019

Welcome to the Core 4! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article throughout the day as news breaks. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Purpose of the Core 4: These four players are guys that I want to lock into my cash game lineups and if doing multi-entry, using the Domination Station lock them in or set high exposure percentages to them. These are players that I see as underpriced, in great matchups, in play because of injuries, increased usage, etc. I also need to mention that these plays are normally geared toward Draftkings pricing and scoring, I’m not a huge fan of NBA for Fanduel, so if you see my list has three small forwards or two centers, etc. it’s because of the multi-position eligibility on Draftkings. With that said, let’s jump right into it!

Draymond Green – $6,100

Draymond Green is coming off a 35-minute game in which he dropped 38.25 Draftkings points. I rarely played Draymond in the regular season, but playoff Draymond is a whole new player. The thing that I love about this spot is this matchup sets up perfectly for him. We saw the Warriors go small and Green ended up playing a lot of center minutes, as the Clippers really don’t have a traditional center. DeMarcus Cousins only played 21 minutes in game one of this series and I tend to think this continues. Green has the ability to rack up all kinds of peripheral stats, so the floor is always there. The Clippers rank 24th in defense against opposing PF/C, and I just love this spot for Draymond.

Montrezl Harrell – $5,900

On the other side of the ball, we have Mr. Harrell, who played 30 minutes while racking up 42.75 Draftkings points. Normally Harrell comes off the bench, but there’s a part of me that thinks the Clippers give him the start tonight in efforts to give the offense a boost. The Warriors rank 25th in defense against opposing PF/C, the thing that is intriguing here is if he does end up starting, he’ll get more DeMarcus Cousins defense (which is a good thing). He’s proven he can do it off the bench as well, so we have a number of outs with him. The Research Station has him projected to go for 5.6x his Draftkings price tag, and I think that’s fairly accurate and maybe even a little low, there’s not much I don’t like about Harrell tonight.

Jimmy Butler – $7,400

Butler is coming off of a massive game in game one of this series where he dropped 54.75 Draftkings points. I tend to think Joel Embiid’s knee is a real issue, and it’s caused him to miss time before, but they are in trouble if they rule him out so I think they run him out there but manage his workload. We saw this take place last game, many people will point to Ben Simmons to run the offense, but Simmons just can’t get his own shot and create scoring opportunities the way that Butler can. Not only this but in three games against the Nets this season, Butler is averaging 49.5 Draftkings points per game. I love Butler regardless of whether Embiid plays or not.

Spencer Dinwiddie – $5,000

The thing I like about Dinwiddie is he played the second most minutes on the team at 32 minutes in game one, only behind DeMarre Carroll. The Nets clearly trust this guy in big games and honestly feels a bit too cheap here. The matchup is a tough one, but I like Dinwiddie’s ability to put a stamp on this game. We have a big sample size of Brooklyn and Philly matchups this year, as these two have played five games this season. In those five games, Dinwiddie is averaging 33.3 Draftkings points per game, I’ll take that all day from a $5k player, I love me some Spencer Dinwiddie tonight.
