This article focuses primarily on 3-Man snake draft strategy. Reason being is that you can easily apply this information to H2H as well as widen up to 4-Man contests, which is the average size of the daily GPPs. I’m going to break down what I saw in 20-30 drafts today and how we can exploit our opponents using our tools over on DFS Army.
Quick Trends (15 game slate)
- First pick: Trout came in as the clear winner with a 90% confidence interval today.
- Rounding out your first round picks: Guerreo, Harper, Yelich, K. Davis, Rosario, and Polanco
- Chalk (players owned in 100% of drafts): Trout, Harper, K. Davis, Carpenter, Hosksins, Scherzer, Paxton, and Bellinger.

Draft Projections & Rankings
The default draft rankings by position in Draft for their top positions. While most of these would be solid plays, they are vastly different than our projections and grades we developed in house at DFS Army where take into account many different metrics that these do not. Combining our brand new Starting Lineups Page, Domination Station, Articles, and research station, you can quickly see where some players in absolute smash spots should be drafted higher than what’s on this list.

Strategy
- Pitching: Lot of options today with Paxton going early. On a 15 game slate, you have options in both pitching and hitting. Today makes sense to grab one of the top 2 pitchers earlier than usual because of that.
- infield: A lot of games have an IRT of more than 5 today. With major weather concerns in only one game at the moment, you can spread out your plays here. There’s a lot of talent in great ISO spots in the 7.2-8.5 Draft ranking rating todat that I think should be higher.
- outfield: Same as infield, with a lot of options to team stack today in this position. I’m focusing on players hitting above 500 wOBA over the last 7 with ISO over .250 and batting in the 1-4 holes here.
Player spotlight: Everyday we high-light one player that went undrafted. Feeling contrarian tonight? Look no further than Daniel Vogelbach. Projected on Draft at 8.1 (as of this writing) he’s flying under the radar. Again. He didn’t play last night and has been forgotten today.
