Full Court Press:

Orlando Magic @ Washington Wizards

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Pace: Orl +3.9

We don’t have a total yet for this game probably because of the Aaron Gordon injury. For now, we will operate under the assumption that he is in, but keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for further updates. Starting with the Magic, Aaron Gordon draws the best matchup on the team if he is able to go. The Wizards rank dead last in defense against power forwards this season. In three matchups against the Wizards on the year, Gordon is averaging 42.5 Draftkings points per game. Nikola Vucevic draws an excellent matchup as well, the Wizards rank 25th in defense against centers. I’ve been targeting centers against the Wizards all year because of this. Vucevic is averaging 43.3 Draftkings points per game in three games against the Wizards this year. As for the surrounding pieces, the only other two I have interest in is Terrence Ross and Jonathon Isaac for GPPs. From the Wizards, they’re all priced about right. Bradley Beal’s price on Fanduel seems absurd, but it’s probably correct given his floor. Nobody is going to pay that price for him, making him a sneaky GPP play. He’s more than playable on Draftkings at a price of under $10k. The Magic rank 28th in defense against opposing point guards which makes me like Tomas Satoranksy here. I love playing Satoransky because of the peripherals that he provides. Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker both make for great GPP plays, but there minutes and production are a bit too inconsistent for me to trust in cash.

5-star play: Nikola Vucevic, Aaron Gordon (if playing), Bradley Beal (Draftkings)

4-star play: Tomas Satoransky, Bobby Portis

Deeper Value/FD Drop Candidate: None

GPP Sleeper: Jabari Parker, Bradley Beal (FanDuel)

Brooklyn Nets @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Pace: Bkn +2.9

I like targeting teams against the Thunder, given their past pace and their little to no defense. Starting with the Nets, the Research Station likes Caris LeVert and Jarrett Allen to both go over 6x here (Draftkings). Jarrett Allen is a tough sell for me given the matchup with Steven Adams, but I wouldn’t be mad if you went there. Caris LeVert is a bit too inconsistent, given how many guys there are in this rotation. Really the only guy I have interest in on this team with any confidence is D’Angelo Russell for GPPs. He’s flashed the upside this year and may lose a few minutes to Spencer Dinwiddie, but the usage is still there in a pace up spot. From the Thunder, Paul George just doesn’t look right, right now I’m going to take a wait and see approach on him. For now, I’ll simply just play Russell Westbrook who went for 71.8 Draftkings points in this matchup earlier this season. Centers against Brooklyn is a real thing, so feel free to use my advice and fire up Steven Adams. Jerami Grant is playable as well, as his price has come down a bit.

5-star play: Russell Westbrook

4-star play: D’Angelo Russell, Steven Adams, Jerami Grant

Deeper Value/FD Drop Candidate: Allen Crabbe, Ed Davis

GPP Sleeper: D’Angelo Russell, Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert, Paul George

Detroit Pistons @ Miami Heat

Vegas Total: 210.0

Vegas Spread: Mia -1.0

Pace: Det +0.3

This is one of the slower games on the slate and may be tough finding guys we like here. Andre Drummond and Blake Griffin are always in play, but the matchup tells us to go elsewhere on this slate. Luke Kennard is coming off a dud game, but has been decent lately if you land on him I’m fine with it. The last guy I would have even the slightest interest in if I’m MME is Reggie Jackson. I don’t love him, but he’s not the worst play in the world. After that raging endorsement for the Pistons, we move to the even more exciting (sarcasm) Heat. I have to be honest with you, I’m crossing this game off tonight, there isn’t anything I’m even minimally interested in from the Heat. I guess you can go with Dwyane Wade or Josh Richardson in a GPP, but there are better routes on this slate.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Andre Drummond and Blake Griffin

Deeper Value/FD Drop Candidate: Luke Kennard

GPP Sleeper: Dwyane Wade, Josh Richardson

Memphis Grizzlies @ Atlanta Hawks

Vegas Total: 220.5

Vegas Spread: Atl -1.0

Pace: Mem +7.8

This is a massive pace up spot for the Grizzlies who are one of the slowest teams in the league matchup up with one of the fastest in the Hawks. Starting with the Grizzlies, Avery Bradley makes a lot of sense here on Draftkings, but his price is way too high on FanDuel. The Hawks rank dead last against opposing point guards this season, making Mike Conley one of the best point guards option tonight. Jonas Valanciunas is in a decent spot as well, the Hawks won’t have anyone physical enough to hang with him. Delon Wright is a viable value play. The Hawks are just the opposite, this is a massive pace down spot for them. Trae Young is still playable however, he dropped 40 fantasy points on the Grizzlies earlier this season. Kevin Huerter and Taurean Prince make for decent value plays. Finally, John Collins has been playing great since coming back from injury, he’s gone for at least 43.5 Draftkings points in three of his last four games.

5-star play: Avery Bradley (Draftkings), Mike Conley, Jonas Valanciunas, Trae Young, John Collins

4-star play: None

Deeper Value/FD Drop Candidate: Kevin Huerter, Taurean Prince, Delon Wright

GPP Sleeper: None

Golden State Warriors @ Houston Rockets

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Pace: Hou +3.2

We finally get a pretty juicy matchup here as the night winds down. Starting with the Warriors, Kevin Durant has been ruled out for tonight’s game, here is how the usage rates shake out for the rest of the team…

  • Klay Thompson 35.4% usage rate; 1.24 fpm
  • Steph Curry 36.8% usage rate; 1.47 fpm
  • DeMarcus Cousins 33.8% usage rate; 1.42 fpm

Draymond Green doesn’t see any kind of noteworthy number changes with anyone off the court because he’s not really a usage guy. You can target anyone in this starting lineup tonight, and do so with confidence. From the Rockets, Chris Paul and Clint Capela are my favorite plays from this team. Paul draws the best matchup here, as the Warriors rank 26th against opposing point guards on the season. James Harden is certainly playable here and one of the top plays on the slate. PJ Tucker is a viable value play as well.

5-star play: Klay Thompson, Steph Curry, DeMarcus Cousins, Chris Paul, James Harden, Clint Capela

4-star play: Draymond Green, PJ Tucker

Deeper Value/FD Drop Candidate: PJ Tucker

GPP Sleeper: None

Utah Jazz @ Phoenix Suns

Vegas Total: 222.5

Vegas Spread: Utah -7.5

Pace: Utah +0.4

We round out the night with what could be a blowout, but we’re going to move on regardless. The Suns rank dead last against opposing shooting guards which puts Donovan Mitchell firmly in play here tonight. They also rank 24th against opposing centers, Rudy Gobert should be able to do whatever he wants in this matchup. He scored 47.5 Draftkings points against them in their earlier matchup this season. Keep an eye on the Ricky Rubio news, if he is out again Royce O’Neale becomes an excellent value play, as he will get minutes regardless on if this game blows out or not. Kyle Korver has scored 20+ fantasy points in three of his last four and makes for a nice value tonight. From the Suns, DeAndre Ayton technically draws a good matchup according to the numbers. However, I get nervous targeting big men against Rudy Gobert, who is one of the best defensive centers in the league. Devin Booker has scored 60+ fantasy points in two of his last three games, he’s a very solid GPP option. Kelly Oubre, Josh Jackson, and Tyler Johnson all have some GPP appeal here as well.

5-star play: Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, Royce O’Neale (If Rubio Out)

4-star play: DeAndre Ayton, Devin Booker, Josh Jackson

Deeper Value/FD Drop Candidate: Kyle Korver, Royce O’Neale (If Rubio Out)

GPP Sleeper: Devin Booker
