Flynnie’s Forecheck – NHL DFS Advice for Fanduel and Draftkings March 26, 2019

Flynnie’s Forecheck for 3/26/19

We’re back!! After a long off-season of watching the greatest love story since Romeo and Juliet – obviously, I’m talking about Alex Ovechkin’s love affair with the Stanley Cup – it’s time to play some hockey. For those of you that are new to the DFS Army, my name is Rob Flynn. I’m an NHL DFS writer and coach inside the DFS Army. We have the best articles, coaching, and tools in the industry. But let me tell you, the real money is made in the Slack chat that only our  VIP’s have access to. That’s where we talk through a member’s lineup construction, thought process, or just answer any DFS questions they may have. Every coach is very accessible and willing to share our own processes to help every member grow as a player.

I wrote an article describing some of my process and some tips to win. Check it out here. We also have a brand new Research Station that is only available to VIP’s but here is the tutorial, to give you guys a taste of what’s coming this season.  When you sign up to become a member, use promo code PUCK to give yourself 20% off for the life of your membership.

NHL DFS is very similar to DFS MLB. The volatility can be maddening, the floor of every player is ZERO and you need stacking in all contests. In cash games you need at least two players that correlate on either the scoring line or power play, to hopefully grab the goal and an assist. In GPP’s you need to stack the entire line and hope that line goes off for multiple goals.

Take a peek at our latest winner.  DFSA is on fire over NBA All Star Break and would love to help you learn the game of hockey, as well!  Whether you are already a VIP or are just passing by, our coaches can teach the rookie and veteran alike.  Congrats to Handleyrs for a near 300 score and over $850 in winnings!!

Without any further ado let’s dig into today’s 7-game slate.

I am primarily a cash/hybrid player but even that requires some stacking. So, I list my favorite and then I take the pieces from those stacks that fit my lineup construction. Unlike last season, I will put my stacks, D-men, and goalies in order of my preference.

NHL FORWARDS

FLA 1 – Huberdeau, Barkov, Dadonov: These guys have been one of my top stacks for a while now but when you look at their production, it’s not hard to see why. They have 15 goals in the last 10 games, but only three in their last three games. I think there is shootout potential on both sides of this game but this is my favorite line stack in the game.

VAN PP 1- Boeser, Pettersson, Horvat: This stack is going to be sneaky tonight, because ANA has actually played good defense lately. Their biggest weakness is on the PK and this is one of the best young PP units in the league. This also covers two lines to spread out your exposure. Feel free to throw Edler in this stack too or replace Horvat with him for a line 2 stack.

OTT 1 – Tkachuk, Pageau, Veronneau: OTT still is not good but they are sneaking up on some people with their ability to score. They get a great matchup tonight against BUF who is in the bottom 1/3 of the league in just about every key defensive statistic over the last ten games and OTT as a team in the top-10 in goals for.

Other stacks

MTL 1 – Tatar, Danault, Gallagher
EDM 1 – Draisaitl, McDavid, Kassian
WSH 1 – Ovechkin, Kuznetsov, Wilson
BUF 1 – Nylander, Eichel, Sheary
CAR 2 – Svechnikov, Staal, Teravainen
FLA 2 – Hoffman, Trocheck, Hawryluk
MTL 2 – Lehkonen, Domi, Shaw
WSH 3 – Vrana, Eller, Connolly
CHI 1 – DeBrincat, Toews, Kane

DFS Studs on DEFENSE

Chabot: He has three assists and 21 BSSOG over the last five games and I love the idea of stacking him with Tkachuk for cash/hybrid or the rest of OTT 1 in GPPs.

Edler: He is averaging over 18 FD points a game over his last 5 games, second only to Dylan DeMelo over that time.

Weber: Montreal has a great matchup tonight and Weber is matchup-proof lately, averaging 17 FD points over his last five games certainly help too.

Honorable Mentions: Dahlin, Fowler, Carlson, Gustafsson, Hamilton, Ekblad, Chychrun

GOALIES Set to Bring Value

**All stats are over the last three weeks unless otherwise noted**

Bobrovsky: 5-2-0/1.43/0.951 Bob is far and away the number one goalie tonight. Not only is he on fire but NYI is struggling offensively and CBJ really needs to win out or close to it to get into the playoffs and make their trading deadline aggressiveness pay off. ALL FORMATS

Crawford: 6-2-1/1.84/0.939 Chicago has been scoring in bunches and they’ve actually played well defensively too. Crow is running hot and ARI is not scoring much over the last 10 games. I think being a road underdog, he will go lower owned. Hybrid

Mrazek: 4-1-0/1.58/0.948 He is in a tough spot tonight against the Caps, but he is on fire and has a massive ceiling. GPP

Honorable Mentions: Price, Kuemper, Koskinen, Greiss

GOAL PREDICTION: Thomas Chabot
