DFS Madness’s Strategy for Winning NBA Tiers Lineups on Draftkings – Mar. 16th, 2019

Welcome to the DFS Army Draftkings Tiers breakdown! The Tiers breakdown will consist of a breakdown of all six tiers on Draftkings and why you should or shouldn’t play some of these guys! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article and just because I like to think I’m a great Twitter follow (high hopes). But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Tier One:

The Domination Station likes Nikola Jokic in this tier but has him relatively close to Russell Westbrook. Paul George draws the best matchup in this tier, as the Warriors rank 28th in defense against opposing small forwards. In two matchups with the Warriors this season George is averaging 46.4 Draftkings points per game and Westbrook missed one of the games but scored 53.3 in the other game. I would love to target Bradley Beal here because of the way he is playing right now, but I don’t think we can target a matchup with Memphis with confidence. But, he’s scored 55+ fantasy points in three of his last four, so people will certainly be on board. Jokic has been a bit all over the place with his production, but a matchup against Indiana isn’t something you should shy away from. This is a tough tier, but I think Westbrook would be my favorite play.

The NBA Research Stationis my #1 source for research every single day and is one of the VIP Only tools our members have access to daily. The info in the NBA ReSearch Station includes today’s 📊 DFS Army Projection, Adjusted DVP matchups and much more. This tool will cut your daily research time in half. If you’re familiar with CeeGee and Ben you already know the time they’ve put into the “Sheets” and are extremely happy to provide them as apart of your DFS Army VIP Membership this year.

Tier Two:

Kevin Durant is currently listed as questionable, I will operate under the assumption that he is available tonight but keep an eye on the Breaking News Feed for updates. Luke Doncic draws the best matchup in this tier, the Cavs rank 29th in defense against opposing point guards on the season. In a matchup with the Cavs, earlier this season Doncic was very successful and scored 62.3 Draftkings points. The Golden State and Oklahoma City game will likely be one of the higher paced games on the slate which is why I think I would rather go with Durant or Curry here. Curry scored 58.5 Draftkings points in an earlier matchup against the Thunder, while Durant has played two matchups and averaged 51.3 fantasy points. I don’t really see a reason to go with Aldridge here, but if you want some exposure, do it through GPP. I actually like Lillard a good bit here, I’ve been targeting point guards against the Spurs all year and this is a perfect spot to continue that. In three matchups with the Spurs this season Lillard is averaging 52.2 Draftkings points per game.

Tier Three:

The Domination Station has Julius Randle projected for the most points in this tier, he draws a great matchup as well. The Suns don’t have a lot of size down low other than DeAndre Ayton, and he is one of the worst defensive big men in the league this season. Randle is coming off of a massive 76 point fantasy game his last time out, he will look to stay hot here. Devin Booker draws the best matchup of the group, as the Pelicans rank 25th in defense against opposing shooting guards. Booker has been hot as of late as well, scoring 40+ fantasy points in four of his last five games. In three matchups against the Blazers this season DeMar DeRozan is averaging 51.4 fantasy points per game. That game should be competitive and stacking DeRozan with Damian Lillard is a nice GPP strategy. Centers against Brooklyn is a real thing, Rudy Gobert should be able to manhandle this frontcourt. He scored 58.5 Draftkings points against them earlier this season. Donovan Mitchell makes for a perfectly fine GPP play to round out the tier.

Tier Four:

If we are sticking with the theme of stacking up options in that Golden State and OKC game we can start with Klay Thompson and DeMarcus Cousins. I don’t love targeting centers against the Thunder because Steven Adams is such a force down low, but Cousins is more than capable of handling him. Klay Thompson has gone over 40 fantasy points in four of his last five games and will look to stay hot in this one. Kevin Love draws the best matchup in this tier, as the Mavericks rank 22nd in defense against opposing power forwards. Mike Conley should be able to do whatever he wants against that Wizards backcourt, but I worry that the Grizzlies may start to limit his minutes with little warning. D’Angelo Russell always makes for an elite GPP play, I like him here again tonight in a matchup with the Jazz.

Tier Five:

The Domination Station actually has Anthony Davis projected the highest here. He didn’t play last night, which makes me think he will be available tonight. But again, keep an eye on that Breaking News Feed it’s a lifesaver. Davis has gone over 40 fantasy points in four of his last five games. He isn’t going to play more than 22 minutes, but he’s efficient to say the least. Myles Turner draws the best matchup here, as the Nuggets rank 25th in defense against opposing centers. I don’t know if I like that number or not, I normally stay away from centers against Jokic because of his size and defensive ability. Elfird Payton has scored 50+ fantasy points in three straight games. He will be popular in this tier and for good reason, he is playing great basketball and gets a great matchup. I wish Jonas Valanciunas was getting more minutes because he draws an awesome matchup tonight against the undersized Wizards frontcourt. His minutes make him a GPP play for me. Jamal Murray, Paul Millsap, and Derrick White can also be considered for GPPs.

Tier Six:

DeAndre Ayton headlines this tier with a fantastic matchup against the Pelicans. New Orleans ranks dead last in defense against opposing centers. Ayton has averaged 35.8 Draftkings points per game in two games against the Pelicans this season. Joe Ingles has scored 30+ fantasy points in four of his past five games, I don’t mind him in this spot against the Nets. Kelly Oubre scored 35.8 fantasy points in an earlier matchup against the Pelicans this season, stacking up this game isn’t a bad idea for GPPs it will be one of the higher scoring games on the slate. Darren Collison has scored 40+ fantasy points in two straight games and will look to stay hot against Jamal Murray and company. Spencer Dinwiddie is a fine GPP play, however, he is strongly negatively correlated with D’Angelo Russell, so make sure to have one or the other and not both of them in your lineups. Dwight Powell, Bobby Portis, and Bojan Bogdanovic make for fine GPP plays to round out the tier.
