DFS College Basketball Game Notes For Draftkings and Fanduel 3/4/2019

Good morning to you beautiful people out there in DFS land!  You have managed to find yourself in a great spot here at DFS Army.  I look forward to providing you with analysis and picks throughout this 2018-2019 CBB season!  Remember, if I mention a player as a cash game play they most likely are OK for GPP play.  Let’s take a look at what games are on the slate for DraftKings.  The KenPom score projections are in parenthesis.

Virginia (64) vs Syracuse (56)
Kansas St (64) vs TCU (65)
Texas (61) vs Texas Tech (69)

College basketball hasn’t been back that long, and we have the coaches teaching!  Save yourself time and energy by letting us do the work.  And, if you want to see a real track record of success, stop by our Wall of Wins page to see what we’ve done in NFL, NBA, and MLB recently.  We aren’t one-trick-ponies at DFS Army, and we are dedicated to sharing our knowledge with you to help you improve your game.

VIRGINIA vs SYRACUSE

Normally I would be bypassing this match-up, however, tonight’s slate is loaded with defensive minded/slow teams.  Virginia is going to get a ton of three’s put up and should see their fair share of rebounds as well.  Jack Salt is questionable with a back issue so we could get some really interesting value in Huff, who is a 7 footer with 3-point range.  My guess is that Hunter plays the high post spot which puts the ball in his hands a ton and makes him a top tier play tonight.  He had a couple of very nice games against Syracuse last year, as did Kyle Guy who is probably the best three-point shooter in the ACC.  Jerome is in play but he falls behind those two guys quite a bit in this match-up for me.

Syracuse is in a tough spot against an elite defense who really keeps you off of the three-point line.  Normally I would feel like this is a spot for Brissett tonight but he seems to be spending way too much time around the perimeter.  I have interest in Chukwu tonight as somebody who should get some rebounds and maybe a couple of putbacks on offense.  If I feel the need to get more Syracuse exposure, it probably comes with either Hughes or Howard as I am not sure I want to spend up for Battle.

Preferred Plays:  Hunter, Guy, Huff, Hughes

KANSAS ST vs TCU

Kansas St beat TCU earlier this season but that game had TCU missing Noi.  I actually like TCU to win tonight to really mess up the Big12 race.  With that said, Kansas St should focus on attacking the lane and the rim.  TCU does a great job on the perimeter but they get beaten up by the two point shot.  As each game passes, Wade looks more and more like the pre-season Big12 POY  and I think that’s something we want to target tonight.  I have interest in Sneed tonight as he put up a really nice game in the first match-up and should be another way for Kansas St to attack the paint.  I do not mind Stokes tonight but am worried his ownership will creep up after the last game.  Mawien and McGuirl are GPP punt options with some upside.

Should be Senior night for TCU so that adds some intrigue to Robinson for me.  He struggled with turnovers the first match-up with Kansas St but still put up 30 DK points.  He has been a near lock for 32-ish fantasy points and that would make him perfectly fine for cash tonight.  I have a feeling that tonight is a big JD Miller night (he is a senior).  There definitely is something to back that up as he has been a beast recently and basically averages 4x on his current price.  Noi is probably the X-factor in this game tonight and could lead your GPP lineups to lots of green.

Preferred Plays:  Wade, Miller, Noi

TEXAS vs TEXAS TECH

This is a tough spot for Texas, going on the road to face one of the top defenses in the country.  Texas players have been really popular of late and I see that being the case tonight, even in a tough match-up.  If you are making multiple lineups, I think you have to get exposure to Ramey, Coleman III, Febres, and even Mitrou-Long.  Texas’ best chance at springing an upset is getting hot from three.  Osetkowski is fine but I just don’t think we need to go there.  Hayes could be a sneaky GPP play but one I probably avoid as well.

Culver is obviously the top play for TT, yet I have a feeling he will go somewhat overlooked as the most expensive play on the slate.  I think that Mooney and Moretti are both in play tonight, with Mooney being more of a GPP play.  It is going to be senior night for TT so Odiase, Owens and even Francis are in play for GPPs.  Owens is going to carry a bit of ownership based on his recent play.

Preferred Plays:  Coleman III, Febres, Culver, Moretti
