This week the Truck Series travels to Vegas. Last year saw two races at LVMS. In both the races the trucks ran wide open almost every lap. This led to multiple lead changes and passes for position. The draft is significant due to the huge hole the trucks punch in the air. We have seen 4 or more drivers lead double digit laps in each of the last 4 races. Practice speeds will help a little but won’t be the end all when helping build lineups. They can give some insight but can also be skewed rather easily.
Be sure to utilize the Domination Station and Research Station when making lineups.

Lineup Building for Las Vegas
Dominator – Having 1 dominator is going to be the best way to setup your lineups. However, I could see a scenario where you can not have a dominator. In order for this to happen there would need to be multiple top 10 drivers starting 15th on back. Below is the Fall 2018 race results. You can see Rhodes and Crafton vs Sauter and Enfinger comparisons. 3 other drivers had laps led of 17, 18, and 33 in this race. Don’t be afraid to mix things up.
Finish | Start | # | Driver | Make | Pts | Laps | Led | Status | Rating | Team |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 3 | #98 | Grant Enfinger | Ford | 54 | 144 | 40 | Running | 126.4 | ThorSport Racing |
2 | 6 | #21 | Johnny Sauter | Chevrolet | 43 | 144 | 21 | Running | 107.5 | GMS Racing |
3 | 12 | #24 | Justin Haley | Chevrolet | 36 | 144 | 0 | Running | 90.5 | GMS Racing |
4 | 18 | #41 | Ben Rhodes | Ford | 38 | 144 | 4 | Running | 93.5 | ThorSport Racing |
5 | 29 | #88 | Matt Crafton | Ford | 44 | 144 | 4 | Running | 97.8 | ThorSport Racing |
6 | 13 | #13 | Myatt Snider | Ford | 31 | 144 | 0 | Running | 75.5 | ThorSport Racing |
7 | 24 | #15 | Ross Chastain | Chevrolet | 0 | 144 | 0 | Running | 64.5 | Premium Motorsports |
8 | 21 | #30 | Austin Theriault | Toyota | 29 | 144 | 0 | Running | 67.0 | On Point Motorsports |
9 | 25 | #22 | Austin Wayne Self | Chevrolet | 28 | 144 | 0 | Running | 57.3 | Niece Motorsports |
Next you will need to fill your lineup with drivers who have high position differential. Also, look for drivers who can finish top 5. This may seem rather obvious but these drivers come from all over. Only 8 of the 20 top five finishers the last four races actually started in the top 5. The Pole sitter has finished in the top 8 just once in the last 4 races. That was Kyle Busch winning from the pole last year.
Until pricing gets corrected on DK it will be important to not label certain drivers as ‘punts’ just based on their pricing. Finley and Forester were priced in the punt area but were actually a step above that level. Poor pricing was all over the field and it will be important to spot and take advantage of these early season mistakes by draftkings.
