DFS NBA Lineup Strategies – Blande’s 6th Man – Draftkings and Fanduel Advice Jan 19th

Hi there! I’m Glen but I go by Blande and you can find me on twitter as @DfsBlande. I’m a contributor and coach over here at the DFS Army.

The main slate tonight has 8-games on it and it is headlined by James Harden, who is priced at 14,300/13,400. To fit Harden into our lineups we are going to need some good value here tonight. Luckily enough, there are some good options off the bench on the slate. Without much ado, let’s jump into the matchups.

Shoutout to Lins14 for this amazing takedown!

CORE PLAYS

SG – Terrence Ross (5500/5300): Terrence Ross continues his amazing job off the bench for the Magic. He is averaging 29.2 DKPs in 29.5 MPG over his last 5 games. The matchup at SG against the Bucks is one we like to attack here, he’s in play on both sites in all formats.

SF – Gerald Green (5000/4600): Spot-up shooters have had success against the Lakers this season. Green has played 30 and 41 minutes in his last 2 games for the Rockets and has put up 29.5 and 29.25 DKPs respectively in those. He is not flashy, but he is getting a lot of minutes here especially with Capela out, and he has a high ceiling. Don’t go crazy with it, but he’s in play on both sites.

PF – JaMychal Green (5800/5200): JaMyke is averaging 32 DKPs in 24.2 MPG over his last 5. He has been a very good piece for the Grizzlies this season and one of the more consistent ones. He could be in line for an increased workload today should Marc Gasol get ruled out. Joakim Noah is already out, implying JaMyke will soak up some additional minutes. He’s in line for a big game here if Gasol misses and I want a piece of it.

PF – Bobby Portis (5200/5700): Bobby Portis is too cheap on FD. With Carter Jr. out, Portis is picking up some of those minutes at the 5. He played 27 minutes last game and is in line for a similar or even higher workload today. Given his upside, 5.2k on FD is just too low. He is better priced on DK, although he is still in play on there.

PF – Bam Adebayo (4900/4900): Adebayo gets a fantastic matchup here against the Bulls. Adebayo disappointed last night, but he still saw 26 minutes then. He is in line for a similar number of minutes and at just 4900, he is capable of going off big time here in this matchup. His ceiling is high and his floor relatively to his price is safe, so you can use him in your hybrid lines here.

Shoutout to teambruce for his win as well!

GPP PLAYS

PG – Jeremy Lin (4600/4400): Almost everyone is available for the Hawks today, making the minutes distribution a tough one to figure out here. The one thing we know is this game is a MahScore game for the Celtics, implying the Hawks have a good chance of keeping it close and perhaps winning it. Lin offers a lot of DFS potential off the bench for the Hawks here, however, he is a little too expensive relegating him to just GPP status here.

SG – Jaylen Brown (4400/4300): The Hawks are a poor defensive team all across the board, and with Hayward already ruled out, Jaylen Brown will get some good run here. In a MahScore game which could be competitive, Brown is in a perfect position and extremely cheap here. His upside is crazy in this matchup, but his floor low too, so GPP only.

SF – Gary Harris (4900/5000): Both Harris and Barton are good to go here tonight. Harris is too cheap for on FD at just 4.9k and the same argument can be made for DK as well here. Against the Cavs, he should be able to feast here and hitting 6-7x is within reach for him. He’s a GPP only play here though.

PF – Harry Giles III (3600/3800): Giles is an excellent drop-score format play on FD tonight. At just 3.6k, he makes for a really interesting play here with the upside to hit 10x value. He put up 33.3 FDps in 22 minutes in the last meeting against the Pistons too. FD only GPP play here.

C – Ivica Zubac (4000/4300): The GOAT Zubac is on the slate. We have no idea if Luke Walton will finally give Zubac consistent minutes here, so this is too risky for anything other than GPPs. With Capela out, centers are feasting against the Rockets and Zubac could be in for another career night. Of course, Walton could opt to give McGee the minutes here too. So be careful with Zubac. I really only like him on FD as a drop-score candidate though.

Those are your Sixth men for today. Good luck out there today Army!
