So what is a Free Square exactly? In NBA DFS there will be situations that come up that will lead to bench players getting more minutes. Some may even enter the starting lineup. The low cost of these players will allow us to spend up across the rest of our lineups. Wich gives us the ability to lock in some high dollar studs.

My Favorite NBA Free Squares for Today – December 15th
💥 Dario Saric MIN PF $4,600
Taj Gibson is out tonight for the T’Wolves vs the Suns. Dario Saric was acquired from the Sixers earlier this year in a deal that sent Jimmy Butler to Philly. Tonight will likely be Saric’s 1st start with his new team. So far with the T’Wolves he has been scoring just under 1.0 fantasy point per minute. The T’Wolves take on the Suns tonight who are pretty solid vs Power Forwards allowing (-)4% less fantasy points to the position than the league average. Overall however, the Suns are pretty terrible defensively coming into tonight with a 111 defensive efficiency rating as a team. Saric is going to be a popular value pick tonight as we’ve all see what he can do when given the minutes. He’s got 10x upside at this price in this matchup tonight.
💥 Terry Rozier BOS PG $4,200
Scary Terry has been on fire recently as the Celtics have been battling injuries throughout their whole lineup it seems. Al Horford has missed a few games and Jaylen Brown has missed a few as well over the past week or so. Horford is already ruled out again tonight so there will be some extra usage to go around. Over his last 5 games Rozier has played 27 minutes per game and has averaged 28.8 fantasy points per game. He’s only priced at $4,200 today on Fanduel and he’s got a juicy matchup vs the Pistons. This season the Pistons are allowing 7% more fantasy points to point guards and have a team defensive efficiency rating of 106. Rozier is a solid value option tonight that should help you pay up for LeBron or Harden or another top stud on this small slate.

💥 Kyle Kuzma LAL PF $8,200
Kuzma is not really a “free” square in the sense that he’s too cheap. However this guy has been absolutely on FIRE since Brandon Ingram went down with an injury. Its clear now who the #2 guy is on the Lakers and its not Brandon Ingram. Kuzma’s game fits so much better with LeBron than Ingram and he’s really showcasing his abilities recently. Over his last 5 games he has been playing 38 minutes per game and averaging 42.5 fantasy points. He has scored over 39.3 fantasy points in 6 straight games and I don’t expect that to end tonight vs Hornets. On the season the Hornets allow 2% more fantasy points to power forwards than the league average. They play at a 103 pace and have a defensive efficiency rating of 107. I’m going to be heavily invested in Kuzma tonight probably paired up with LeBron and my value guys mentioned above.
💥 Rudy Gay SAS SF $6,700
There is not a ton of extreme value popping on this slate yet. Maybe we’ll get some as the day progresses but there are a lot of solid mid tier plays that I love. Rudy Gay falls into that category as he’s not cheap priced at $6,700. However when you look at his recent production you can see he’s very capable of paying off this price today vs Chicago Bulls. Over his last 5 games Gay has played 30 minutes per game and has averaged 37.8 fantasy points per game. The Bulls play at a 103 pace and have a defensive efficiency rating of 109. Remember what I always say: “Fast Pace+Bad Defense = Fantasy Points”. Gay has scored over 40 fantasy points in 3 of his last 5 games and I expect him to get close to that again tonigth vs the Bulls
