Bowl Season Kickoff DK Preview!!!

Bowl Season is here and we will have a ton of DFS slates to go with it. One thing to remember about bowl games is they aren’t the same as regular season games in many ways. Different teams will have different motivations. Was a team expecting to go to the playoffs yet they are going to the Camping World Bowl? Or did they have a year where they far exceeded expectations and will be up for the game like UCF last year? Also, many of the top players will skip the bowl game in preparation for the NFL draft so that is worth watching as well.

Bowl season kicks off with 5 games on Saturday. Most of the games have a lower total but the New Mexico Bowl between North Texas and Utah State has a pretty good over-under. The one highly touted player that will be missing on Saturday is Arizona State receiver N’Keal Harry. Harry was the leading receiver for the Sun Devils and this will open up some value.

Game Spreads and ITTs:

I will personally consider postseason bowl play completely GPP. Lots of weird things happen after these teams are on the road for 5 days with lots of commitments away from the field. That being said, there are some great places to attack this slate.

Game to Target:

North Texas and Utah State are both top 35 S&P+ offenses and for good reason. North Texas averages 34.5 points a game while Utah State averages 44.8. Both can sling the rock and run the ball and both should put up big numbers in this bowl game. I think this game could easily play to the over and that could fare well for all parties involved. I want to get as much exposure to this game as possible on a slate with some very low over-unders.

A few players to target:

Brandon Aiyuk WR Arizona State – Aiyuk has more receptions over the past 5 weeks than any other Sun Devil suiting up and is sitting pretty under $5k on DraftKings. Aiyuk has a TD reception in each of the past 2 games and will continue to see targets in this bowl game.

Justin McMillan QB Tulane – McMillan has come on strong late for Tulane and has over 20 DK points in 3 of the last 5 games including 2 of the last 3 games with over 31 DK points. This is a game with a lower spread that could turn into a shootout. McMillan is a boom or bust play but a great GPP option at his price.

Jaylen Guyton WR North Texas – Rico Bussey is the leading receiver for UNT and is a game-time decision. If he is out or limited in any way, I really like Guyton at his price. UNT loves to air out the ball and will have to to stay in the game with Utah State. Guyton should see plenty of targets and is at a great value just over $5k on DK.
