Welcome to the DFS Army NBA Free Squares article where I will try to break down my favorite NBA Free Squares and Fanduel and Draftkings for Today’s NBA Slate.
So what is a Free Square exactly? In NBA DFS there will be situations that come up that will lead to bench players getting more minutes. Some may even enter the starting lineup. The increase in their minutes and role will give us someone we can plug into our lineups and expect them to reach or exceed value. The low cost of these players will allow us to spend up across the rest of our lineups. Wich gives us the ability to lock in some high dollar studs.

Free Square Results for yesterday – November 18th
Tyler Johnson – 26.6 fp – 5.7x value
Lonzo Bal -18.7 fp – 3.2x value
Jonas Jerebko- 22.0 – 5.6x value
Kevin Durant -53.0 fp – 4.6x value
Total 238.7 fp – 4.65x value
Another let down from Lonzo Ball last night only scoring 18.7 fantasy points in 21 minutes. He scored Nearly 1 fp per min but just didn’t get the run we expected last night. He shot 0/5 from the field on Satuday and followed that up with 1/7 last night. His jump shot is flat out broken but he still managed 6 reb and 7 ast. If he can get that jumper on track and give us 10-14 points per game he will be a DFS Darling for us in this Lakers offense. Johnson, Jerebko and Durant all came through for us and if it were not for LeBron James dropping 72.1 fantasy those 53 from Durant would have felt a lot better.
My Favorite NBA Free Squares for Today – November 19th
💥 Paul George OKC SF $10,000
George has put up back to back monster games vs the Knicks and the Suns scoring 59.9 and 61.2 fantasy points respectively. Tonight Russell Westbrook is expected to be out again and George gets a juicy matchup with the Sacramento Kings. This Season George has played 338 minutes without Russell Westbrook on the floor and in those minutes he has a 32.7% usage rate and averages 1.34 fantasy points per minute. The Kings have a 107 defensive efficiency rating this year and are ranked 22nd vs SF in our adjusted DVP Metric. Somehow after having 2 monster games in a row and getting a great matchup vs the Kings, Fanduel has decided to drop his price $500 today making him an even $10,000. Lock and Load Paul George tonight as I believe he’s going for 50+ again vs the Kings
💥 Dennis Schroder OKC SG $7,500
The same situation as above with Paul George applies to Dennis Schroder tonight. He’s coming off 3 monster games in a row vs the Suns, Knicks and Suns again. In those 3 games he scored 50.5, 40.8 and 38.5 fantasy points and gets an equally juicey matchup tonight vs the Kings. Like George above, Fanduel has decided to drop Schroder’s price for this matchup by $500 which brings his price to a reasonable $7,500. This season he has played 374 minutes without Russell Westbrook on the floor and he has maintained a 30.6% usage rate and has averaged 1.12 fantasy points per minute. Look for more of the same from Schroder and George tonight. I’ll be starting my cash builds with these 2 guys this evening.

💥 Mikal Bridgers PHO SF $4,200
There hasn’t been a Narrative this strong in a long time. Tonight 2 time Villanova Wildcats NCAA Champion and hometown kid Mikal Bridges makes his homecoming to the city of Philadelphia. The 76ers drafted Bridges back in June with the 10th pick in the Draft. Hometown kid, 2 time Champion drafted by your hometown team, what could be better right? Well the Sixers promptly traded Bridges to the Suns. Furthermore, to add even more fule to this narrative Bridges’ mother Tyneeha Rivers is the Vice President of Human Resources for the 76ers. He’s sure to have 100’s of friends and family in the crowd tonight in Philly. The matchup on paper may not be ideal as Philly ranks 5th in our adjusted DVP metric vs SF. That being said you have to remember these are human beings we’re talking about here and he’s going to be fired up for this one.
💥 Kevin Huerter ATL SG $3,500
Minimum price on Fanduel with Taurean Prince out and Alex Poythress out the Hawks will be thin tonight at the wing spots. He isn’t going to score you 30-35 fantasy points but he will generally be close 20. He has played 28 and 29 minutes in his last 2 games good enough to score 16.1 and 17.1 fantasy points. His season high was back on 10/21 when he scored 36 fantasy points in 25 minutes vs the Cavs. Like I said, he’s not going to break the slate but at min price he allows you to do a lot of other things with your lineup tonight.

💥 Tyreke Evans IND SF $4,700
He was a massive let down the other night when Victor Oladipo was Questionable all day and then eventually played. Those that stuck with Evans despite Dipo playing had to be thrilled when Oladipo got injured early in the game. You would think that would have led to a good night from Evans, but it did not. He only scored 13.4 fantasy points in that game in 24 minutes vs the Hawks nonetheless. Tonight he’ll get a matchup with the Utah Jazz so I’m not 100% on board with it. If Oladipo is out though he’ll be a strong popular value play tonight.
💥 Dorian Finney Smith DAL SF $4,000
Wes Matthews is out tonight and the Mavericks could be missing Dwight Powell and JJ Barea as well. This would lock Finney Smith into more minutes tonight vs the Grizzlies. In his last 3 games he’s played 32 minutes vs the Bulls, 22 minutes vs the Jazz and 40 minutes vs the Warriors. He has scored 15.9, 22 and 28.5 fantasy points in those games. He doesn’t have a ton of upside but with all the injuries on the Mavericks he should play a ton of minutes tonight. Also, his initials are DFS for christ sakes, that’s gotta be a good thing right?
