Week 6 Saturday Evening CFB Slates

AFriedman15 – Aaron Friedman researches and writes college football articles for DFS Army. Aaron is a lifelong resident of the Chicago suburbs and a Northwestern alum and football season ticket holder. College football was Aaron’s first DFS sport and he was thrilled to see it return in 2018. He believes that the thrill, pageantry, and the importance of every game are unparalleled in sports. Aaron enjoys betting on the games and watching everything from #Pac12AfterDark to #MACtion, and especially enjoys the Tuesday-Friday games with so much happening on Saturdays. In real life, Aaron is an IT analyst and with his wife, is the parent to three small dogs. Find Aaron on Twitter at @AFriedmanDFS

Here are some notes on the Saturday evening slates. There are 7 games on DraftKings and 12 games on FanDuel starting at 7pm ET, and I will try to indicate the FD only plays throughout this article. Hope everyone has a great Saturday watching college football and may your screens be green!

QB

McKenzie Milton (11200 DK/10400 FD)  is #2 in FBS in Fantasy points and does not require an explanation at this point.

On FanDuel, having a Gardner Minshew (10200 FD) and Ian Book (9400 DK/10000 FD) GPP lineup is an interesting pivot to the Milton chalk that is sure to be had.  Book is interesting to me with Virginia Tech ranking 123rd in pass defense allowing over 300 yards and 1.5 TDs per game.  Book has been on fire for the first two games of his career

Memphis QB Brady White (9300 FD) and Memphis sucked last week losing 40-24, but there is value on White and the Tigers. For one, their prices have slightly depreciated. Second,  I think that people playing the Saturday night FanDuel slates will opt to enter their “DK plays” into FD, so White and the Tigers should go under-owned.

Dual-threat Kentucky QB Kentucky Terry Wilson (5400 DK/7800 FD) is a solid superflex candidate as Texas A&M pass defense has been subpar ranking #109 in pass yards (272/game) and allowing 1.8 pass TDs/game as well. Some may look to his backfield mate Benny Snell, but I believe Wilson is a better value. Wilson, in fact, is the best value on DK at QB. Wilson is fine to play on.

RB

Like Milton, Wisconsin RB Jonathan Taylor (9900 DK/10000 FD) and Memphis RB Darrell Henderson(10100 FD) are two of the most productive backs in the country. Taylor is interesting especially given that he has not scored in two weeks, so it seems highly probable that he will get a TD

Kentucky RB Benny Snell (8400 DK/9800 FD) is starting to emerge as a darkhorse Heisman candidate as Kentucky continues its surprising undefeated season, but it is not an ideal spot as Texas A&M ranks #3 in FBS in rushing yards allowed and just 1 rushing touchdown per game.

For cash, I’d consider dropping down to Washington RB Miles Gaskin (7700 DK/ 9100 FD) going up against a terrible UCLA team (0-4) allowing nearly 38 points per game.

Keep an eye out on Auburn QB Kam Martin (6300 DK/7900 FD) who would start and get a full workload if Jatarvious Whitlow (questionable) misses the game vs. Miss. State.

On FD, Oregon State RB Artavis Pierce (6000 FD) is probable after practicing all week. He put up 34.4 FD points against Ohio State in the opener and at that price, Pierce can open up your FD build.

Also, FD only, DFS Army favorite Memphis RB Tony Pollard (6800 FD) has scored a touchdown in three straight games, and hopefully will be used more with Memphis being huge 35 point favorites vs. UConn.

This pick is a little gross, but Nebraska RB Devine Ozigbo (4900 DK/6900 FD) is now the unquestioned starter On Friday, it was announced that previous starter Greg Bell did not make the trip to Wisconsin and is considering transferring out.

WR

As with Brady White, there is some value to Memphis WR Damonte Coxie (9000 FD), who I am expecting to bounce back.

Additionally, there is some value now with UCF WR Dredrick Snelson (6000 DK/7900 FD) who was held out with injury for most of last week but will be ready to go for Saturday, according to UCF Coach Heupel’s press conference.  Of course, his teammate Gabriel Davis (7300 DK/ 9500 FD) has as high of a floor as there is on the slate and he has a strong likelihood of finding the end zone.

Given the aforementioned problems of UCLA, I also like Washington WR Aaron Fuller (7200 DK/8900 FD) who has twice as many targets and three times as many catches as any other Husky receiver.

I’d like to mention two punt plays out of the Nebraska at Wisconsin game. On the Nebraska side, JD Spielman (5000 DK/8000 FD) is an explosive player who has caught 23 of 29 targets to go with 4 TDs. Pretty solid price for his skill set. For the Badgers, I am interested in TE Jake Ferguson (3800 DK/5700 FD)

For those playing the Late Night Slate, I love Utah WR Britain Covey (5100 DK) on DK, but 8500 feels too steep for me on FD.
