My Favorite MLB Top Stacks and Player Pools
for Today Tuesday 🇺🇸 September 11th 🇺🇸

A few rules of thumb, in Cash Games (50/50, H2H, 3man) you dont “need” to stack to win, so I have found that if you’re buildling Cash Lineups, you can pick and chose the higher ranked players in my player pool and usually do very well.

If you’re looking to take down GPP’s you need as much upside as possible and you need a lot of correlation in your lineups. To achieve this your going to want to focus on my Stack Groupings below.

Lets get to work.

Fanduel Player Pool

– these are my personal rankings
– the are listed in order, 1,2,3,4 and so on at each position
– if someone is NOT listed it does not mean they are a BAD play, they just didn’t make the cut for me (i can’t list everyone)

Pitcher – Jacob deGrom, Mike Foltynewicz, Marco Gonzales, Shane Bieber (risky see stacks below), Joe Musgrove (risky see stacks below)

Everything from wOBA and ISO vs the Handedness of today’s starting pitcher, to Average Exit Velocity this tool will cut your daily research time in half. If you’re familiar with Myself and Ben you already know the time we’ve put into the “Sheets” and we’re extremely happy to bring them over here to the DFS Army this year.

⚾ Coors Field – D’Backs @ Rockies

You can stack Coors almost every night, but I don’t want to blindly advise you to do so without at least a little explination.

D’Backs – Pollock, Escobar, Peralta, Goldschmidt

The Rockies SP Antonio Senzatela is a reverse splits righty, who allows a 213 ISO and 42% hard contact rate to right handed hitters. He throws his 92-94 mph fastball about 67% of the time. He allows a 339 woba, 393 xwoba, 143 iso and 38% hard contact rate on his fastball. The D’Backs lineup is full of guys who do serious damage. Eduardo Escobar, Paul Goldschmidt and AJ Pollock all bring 400+ xwoba’s into tonight’s matchup vs fastballs between 92-94 mph. Goldschmidt, Peralta and Pollock also all have hard contact rates over 40% vs said fastballs.

Senzatela’s 2nd most frequent pitch is his Slider, which he throws 21% of the time. The same three D’Backs really matchup well vs the slider as well, Goldschmidt, Peralta and Pollock all have 400+ xwoba and 185-200+ ISO along with near 40% hard contact rates against the slider.

In Coors Field, these matchups do not bode well for Senzatela tonight.

Rockies – Blackmon, LeMahieu, Arenado, Story

Some people may not want to pick on D’Backs SP Zach Grienke because of the name recognition, but, I’m not going to shy away from picking on him tonight. He’s not a bad pitcher at all, but this matchup, in Coors against this Rockies lineup is not a good one for Grienke tonight. He’s giving up 37% hard contact to left handed hitters and 44.6% hard contact to right handed hitters this season. He gives up more fly balls to righties, 37% vs only 27% to lefties, and he allows a much higher ISO to righties as well, 200 vs 120.

Grienke throws 3 main pitches, his Fastball 88-90 mph 44%, his Change 23% and his Slider 19%. He allows a 453, 401 and 369 xwoba on those 3 pitches respectively. He allows a 43%, 34% and 41% hard hit rate on those three pitches as well. Charlie Blackmon, DJ Lemahieu, Nolan Arenado, Carlos Conzales and Trevor Story have woba numbers ranging from 475 to 593 against fastballs in this speed range. To say that this matchup is a bad one for Grienke would be an understatement.

All that being said, the Coors Field double stack is fully in play for me tonight. The D’Backs are my #1 stack and the Rockies are a close #2 for me this evening. I expect them to be pretty highly owned, so if you wanna get off the chalk, check out the rest of my stacks below.

Ok now that we’ve got Coors out of the way, lets take a look at the rest of the slate shall we?

⚾ Yankees – McCutchen, Hicks, Andujar, Stanton

Twins RHP Tyler Duffey just aout average so far this year. Heading into tonight he has a respectable xFIp of 4.40, has struck out about 21% of batters and given up only 28% fly balls this year. He allows a 331/137 woba/iso to left handed hitters and a 353/166 woba/iso to right handed hitters. He strikes out just around 20% to both sides of the plate, and he generates around 50% ground balls to both sides of the plate as well. He throws 3 main pitches, Curve, 34%, Fastball 90-92 32% and Sinker 28%. So far this season he has allowed a 400+ xwoba on all 3 pitches, and a 240+ iso on all 3 pitches. Honestly, seeing how bad the numbers that he allows on his pitches, I have a hard time understanding how his overall numbers are not far worse than they are showing.

⚾ Athletics – Laureano, Chapman, Lowrie, Davis

I’ve been targeting Alex Cob all season long and I don’t plan on stopping any time soon. I know he’s been a little better recently but that’s not going to scrare me away tonight. Cobb has allowed a 335/167 wob/iso to left handed hitters this season, and a 369/234 woba/iso to right handed hitters this season. He only strikes out 17% of left handed hitters and only 13% of right handed hitters. He throws his fastball 90-92 about 50% of the time, along with his Splitter 26% and his Curve 22%. He allows a 388 xwoba and 191 iso on his fastball, and a 448 xwona and 327 iso on curve.

The Athletics should not have any problem handling Cobb this evening, as they have 6 players in the projected starting lineup with a 440 xwoba or higher against Cobb’s most frequent pitch, his 90-92 mph fastball.

⚾ Other stacks I like tonight

Rangers – Choo, Odor, Mazara, Gallo
– vs Jim Johnson small sample, 374/247 woba/iso to left handed hitters – bullpen game for Angles

Rays – Smith, Wendle, Pham, Choi
– they knocked around Kluber last night, I think they do the same thing to Bieber tonight who has a 397/247 woba/iso and a 39% FB rateto left handed hitters this season

Red Sox – Betts, Benintendi, Martinez, Bogaerts
– vs TOR left hander Ryan Borucki who allows a 341/146 woba/iso to right handed hitters, and allows a 391 xwoba on his Sinker which he throws 60% of the time

Cardinals – Carpenter, Martinez, Adams, DeJong
– Pirates RHP Joe Musgrove is awful vs left handed hitters allowing a 336/174 woba/iso this season

That’s all I’ve got tonight, I hope you all enjoyed the article and I hope you have a ton of success tonight.

I look forward to see all of those DFS Army Helmets at the top of the leaderboards this evening !!!
