Welcome back to the NFL Sunday edition of “Covering All the Bases,” which should be where you start your research for any weekend MLB DFS slate. Then entire DFS community is going nuts because we are only 3 hours from NFL football, but my lineups are made and I’m ready to break down today’s 10-game main slate (Pittsburgh vs. Miami already postponed). Whether you are playing on Fanduel and Draftkings, I’ve got some thoughts to get your lineup-building process started.

Since Pittsburgh-Miami is already postponed, I should also mention that the Washington-Chicago game and the San Diego-Cincinnati games are also very much in doubt today. I would just fade them and shrink the slate down even further.
The contests are smaller today, but that doesn’t mean we can’t build some winning lineups and perhaps take advantage of some NFL fans who got bored and made a baseball lineup…or some baseball fans who get too pre-occupied with making their final tweaks to their NFL lineups to pay attention to the already reserved MLB contests. I’m going to keep it short and sweet today and just recommend a few pitchers and a few stacks.
Pitchers
I have no problem paying up Jacob Degrom today in cash games or tournaments. He’s our top-rated pitcher and it’s not really even close. He’s in excellent form and has performed well against the Phillies in the past, including a masterful complete game shutout of them less than a month ago. Let others overthink the pitching today, and lock Degrom in some of your lineups. He easily could be the highest raw points output on the slate.
The other pitcher I have some interest in today is Andrew Heaney who faces the White Sox on the road. Heaney happens to be our second-highest rated pitcher on the slate and at only 8200 on FD and 8400 on DK, he offers some salary relief off Degrom for tournaments. Heaney is never safe, but always has big-time strikeout upside and even more so today against the Whiff-Sox who swing and miss more often than my 5-year old at tee-ball practice.
I almost forgot to mention that Yonny Chirinos could be an option today for Tampa, as he is likely the “starter” who will come into the game by the third inning for the Rays. He’s got some nice strikeout upside against the Orioles at an even cheaper price than Heaney and is an ideal SP2 on DK. These football DFS guys will never know to play a guy who’s not projected as the starter, ha!

Hitters
The Angels exploded last night for double-digit runs and today get to face another pitcher who’s prone to hard contact and dingers, Reynaldo Lopez. I love the idea of stacking the top of the Angels order with Calhoun, Trout, and Ohtani and hoping for a repeat of last night’s hit parade.
I also like the Indians today against Toronto rookie Thomas Parrone. The Tribe is always dangerous, but I like using them against left-handers especially as they have massive power from Jose Ramirez, Edwin Encarnacion, Francisco Lindor, and even platoon outfielder Brandon Guyer.
Last but not least I think I will go back to the Minnesota Twins today (ducks, as DFS army members throw things at his head). After nearly getting no-hit by Royals rookie Reynaldo Lopez last night I doubt many DFS players will want to roster the Twins, but they are in a good spot as they get to face home-run server Ian Kennedy in his return from the DL. I’ll have my Rosario, Cave, and Kepler mini stack and hope they bounce back in a big way today.
