Boomers Bombers: Thursday 9/13/18

Short little MLB slate tonight, not to mention that FanDuel is adding in the second game of the Double Header of the Marlins vs. Mets today, so on FanDuel, remember that the slate will lock at 6:30 pm ET.

So for those that don’t know, I use the DFS Army VIP Lineups page for everything in MLB.  I take that info and put it into the Domination Station and this is how I build my lineups.  I pick the pitchers I want, and the teams I want to stack, and then allow the DS to help with the lineup construction for tournaments.

We’ll got through pitchers, and then Stacks, with specific players within those stacks as well.  You will get a look on how I use the Lineups page to build my player pool.  All of the specific one offs that I end up using will be given in the DFS Army VIP Slack.

PITCHERS:

  1. Clayton Kershaw: Number 1 option and obviously the most expensive pitcher on the slate.  He’s going to be chalk, and he’s had one bad start out of his last 5.  He doesn’t hold the same upside he used to when he was approaching double digit strikeouts, but he can still work deep into games and get you about 7 k’s and limit damage.  He’s still one of the best pitchers in the game, and the only decision you should be making when it comes to him is what to do based on ownership.
  2. Eduardo Rodriguez:  He’s coming off a bad start against Houston his last time out, but leads all of the main slate starters in xwOBA in the last 45 days.  Toronto is not a good team, and guys are playing for future jobs.  This along with the fact that Boston doesn’t need to win too many more games to wrap up the division, lends me to think that E-Rod only goes about 5 or 6 innings.
  3. Brett Anderson:  I can’t deny how well Anderson has pitched recently, I don’t like the park, and the Orioles are in the same bed as the Blue Jays are.  Guys are fighting for their MLB future.  Oakland still has a shot to grab the first Wild-Card spot, so they’re looking to win.  As long as Anderson is staying out of trouble, he’ll be good to go.
  4. Jason Vargas:  This is really just because we’re trying to have multiple options tonight.  Maimi’s bats don’t scare me, but they can be pesky.  I’ll give him a pass his last start out going against the Dodgers who had been shut down by Syndergaard and deGrom in that series.  Outside of that, he’s pitched into the 6 inning in 4 of his starts over the last month.

STACKS:

  • Boston Red Sox:

Ok, so as we look at the Red Sox LU tonight, we’re seeing some places we can save money, and then get creative.  I really love wrap around stacks.  So My top stack today will be Bradley, Benintendi, Kinsler, Martinez, and Bogaerts.  I don’t mind skipping over Mitch Moreland to get creative within this.

  • Minnesota Twins:

Forsythe, Rosario, Austin, Cave are my main targets here.  I don’t mind Rosario and Cave as one offs.

  • Seattle Mariners:

I absolutely love the Mariners tonight considering it’s a bullpen game for the Angels tonight.  Haniger, Segura, Cano, Cruz, Seager are all in play.  I will be doing everything I can to pair them with Boston and Kershaw tonight.

  • L.A. Dodgers:

For me, here, it’s the first 3 in the LU tonight with a sprinkle of Freese.  The only reason for this is because I don’t trust Dave Roberts enough for him to give Freese a full games worth of AB’s.  I think he get’s 2.  but I don’t know how many he’s getting beyond that.

  • Oakland A’s:

As we can see, this A’s lineup is clicking from top to bottom right now.  They are getting more and more pricey, but going against Bundy tonight, they are in another good spot.
