Blande’s Bland Take: WNBA DFS Rundown and Picks 9/4/2018

Hi there! I’m Glen but I go by Blande and you can find me on twitter as @DfsBlande . I’m here over at the DFS Army with coverage of WNBA. WIN OR GO HOME! That’s all you need to know about these games tonight. With both series tied at 2-2, it is that simple. The penultimate price is at stake here: a place in the WNBA Finals. Vegas favors the Washington Mystics and Seattle Storm here tonight, as do I, but that said let’s dive in!

  • Washington Mystics @ Atlanta Dream

Mystics Top Plays: Elena Delle Donne, LaToya Sanders, Ariel Atkins, Natasha Cloud, Kristi Toliver

Elena Delle Donne is your top play tonight, and with her back the Mystics look like a contender, a team slated to win not just this game but make a run at the championship. After Delle Donne, the plays here become scarce. LaToya Sanders has shown she is capable of performing here and makes for a nice all format play. Ariel Atkins is probably my top GPP play from the Mystics after EDD. Finally, I’ll take Natasha Cloud over Kristi Toliver here. Toliver has a poor matchup and the Dream will focus on shutting her down to have a chance here tonight.

Dream Top Plays: Jessica Breland, Tiffany Hayes, Brittney Sykes, Elizabeth Williams, Renee Montgomery

Jessica Breland is the best hope for the Dream here tonight. She really needs to stay out of foul trouble for them and for us. With a full set of minutes, it’s difficult to see anyone else outscoring Breland on this Dream team. Tiffany Hayes will have the job of shutting down Toliver on the defensive end. On the offensive end, her scoring will be required. This is a good game to roster Hayes in GPPs. Brittney Sykes has finally shown some spark over the past two games, if this continues, she makes for a nice value play tonight. I have little interest in Elizabeth Williams due to the matchup, but she is a consistent player and solid cash play. Renee Montgomery is inconsistent as they come and in a bad matchup, relegating her to GPP. Don’t sleep on Alex Bentley, ad Monique Billings only comes into play if Breland gets into foul trouble.

For CURRENT members, we have added Fantasy Draft NFL to the Domination Station, make sure to check it out, and while you are at it, make sure to enter our freeroll with over $1200 in prices here. Non-members, join the DFS Army right now to participate!

  • Phoenix Mercury @ Seattle Storm

Mercury Top Plays: DeWanna Bonner, Britney Griner, Diana Taurasi, Yvonne Turner, Briann January

DeWanna Bonner has been on fire since moving to the PF position. In these playoffs, she’s consistently among the top performers night in and night out. Play her in all formats. She’ll be highly owned to the point where it’ll be tough to go over the field. Britney Griner has found herself finally and is a great play today. I have no interest in Diana Taurasi due to the spot she is in. She’s basically blanketed by Alysha Clark or Jewell Loyd the whole game. Yvonne Turner makes for a value punt play here and not much else. I have almost no interest in Briann January. She has been less than helpful DFS-wise this postseason. Camille Little makes for a usable GPP punt.

Storm Top Plays: Breanna Stewart, Sue Bird, Jewell Loyd, Natasha Howard, Alysha Clark

Stewart will need to carry her team to victory, and the 2018 MVP will be up to the task. Sue Bird probably feels responsible for her team not taking game 4, due to her leaving injured. She’ll be back – probably with a face mask – to seal the deal here at home. Jewell Loyd has been frustrating this postseason, part of it could be attributed to the defensive rotation on her, but she hasn’t lived up to her potential yet. This is the kind of game where she’ll need to show what she’s got. I’m not a big fan of Natasha Howard in this matchup, however she has shown flashes here. Use her judiciously! Alysha Clark is a favorite of mine due to her low price. She’s cheap enough to be a great value play when looking for salary relief. Finally, Crystal Langhorne has made the most of her minutes in this series, and should Howard fall into foul trouble, Langhorne will be waiting to win someone a GPP.
