Arsenal v West Ham

We gotta start with the highest total, especially since it is appearing to play to the over. Arsenal should win this game. West Ham’s defense is quite poor. Their transfer money was invested offensively and then they lost defensive people.  The question will be does Arsenal put it together. I think they do and I will have a healthy dose of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The total is stretching up to 3.5 and West Ham is vulnerable to forwards. Everyone will have him so he is better suited for cash games.  In GPP you can stack him with Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The connection that those two have cannot be ignored and Arsenal need a kick in the butt to get their season started. If you are playing on Fanduel, you will want the West Ham Centerbacks in your roster. Fabian Balbuena looks good. Last season, West Ham had 23% more blocked shots and 4% more clearances than the average team. He looks to be quite busy tomorrow.

Liverpool v Brighton

I am a big proponent of getting in on the late game action. Most people are in for the 10 am games and that is their pool of players. They stay clear of the late game for fear of rostering someone who isn’t going to start. I say throw that fear out the window. There is late swap; but, if you can’t be there to make the changes, we do so much prep in the DFS Army that we change players because we want to, not have to. With that said, Liverpool should crush Brighton. This game looks to be playing to the under on the total. I anticipate a 2-0 victory for Liverpool.

With ownership bound to be lower than normal feel free to roster the guys you think will score. Brighton tends to concede shots to forwards on the road. Brighton gave up 26% more shots to forwards than the average team on the road. I’ll take that. Give me Roberto Firmino. The great thing about the hammer game is that you can take a cash play and play them in GPP if you so desire. I once played Aguero at 10% ownership.

Best of the Rest

For our new readers this section is where I talk about some other cash plays that appear outside of the games we touched on already.

Aaron Mooy – Cardiff is less than interested in maintaining possession. The low total should scare some people off, so if you want to use him in GPP you can. I would lean towards cash because goals could be at a premium.

Ryan Fraser – Bournemouth loves playing at home and Everton could be using their depth players on the back line. This game should open up and Fraser should make a fine play all around.

That’s all I wrote. Thanks for reading.  There is much more in the way of picks, stats, semi-witty banter waiting within the friendly confines of the DFS Army. If you have any questions or whatever, feel free to hit me up on Twitter at @TreyJ989. To the VIPs, Let’s crush! To those on the outside, good luck.
