Belgium v England

I thought this rematch would occur as the final. Alas, it’s happening as the consolation match. The group tie saw Belgium come out as 1-0 victors but that match was played with “B” squads as neither team needed any points to see themselves through to the knockout stage. After a grueling month, I expect some rotation. Heed the names I drop in here, but also be prepared to pivot based on formation and personnel. Reason number 84638309 for you to join us in slack post-haste.

Let’s start with Belgium. In their last two matches, England has conceded a healthy heaping of chances from the attacking left. Walker will have his hands full with Eden Hazard running through his defensive zone. Hazard is a cash play for me, but he also likes to cut inside which does allow for the ever-so-pushing-forward Yannick Carrasco (if he starts) to occupy that space.  Whether it’s him or Nacer Chadli, I will be targeting that spot in GPPs.

England should be without Trippier.  Stepping up should Trent-Alexander-Arnold. I like him to take some set-pieces and create from the right side.  He is cash-playable and you can pair him with someone like John Stones in GPP.  Belgium has not put their best foot forward on defending set-piece attempts.

If you are still wary and wish to try before you buy, check out these options that could get you a free month of the DFS Army! You won’t be disappointed. The helmets on our crowded testimonials page on our site speak for themselves. We can make more room, though!

France v Croatia

France and Croatia meet in the finals on Sunday Funday. I expect this match to play in the middle of the field.  Both teams will try to command the middle of the field. This match is still 2 days away so things could very easily change. This is reason number 84638310 to join us in slack.

We are fairly certain who France will run out in their starting XI. Croatia has been conceding oodles of chances from the attacking right. This makes me love Benjamin Pavard as a cash play. Having Kante watching your back allows you to take more chances. All of this raises his floor slightly for me and he even has some scoring upside, as he’s shown. In GPP, I am looking towards Paul Pogba. Giroud has played very well as a target forward and playing the ball off.  If he can continue his strong play, it should help to break down the shape and allow Pogba to fill in space in the middle.  That has been a wondrous spot to be in against Croatia.

For Croatia, I think Ante Rebic is cash viable.  The battle with Matuidi will be key and he should win his fair share and cross a little.  My GPP targets will be held back for those who grace our slack chat. That could be you. It should be you. Make it so. You won’t be disappointed.

That’s all I wrote. Thanks for reading.  There is much more in the way of picks, stats, semi-witty banter waiting within the friendly confines of the DFS Army.
