Blande’s Bland Take: WNBA DFS Rundown and Picks 5/24/2018

Another two game slate for us to attack. This is going to be a tough one. The games are tough to predict, and the WAS/IND game is not the most appealing for DFS purposes, but on to it we go.

  • Los Angeles Sparks @ Connecticut Suns

The Parker-less Sparks look to continue their fine opening form against the Suns who opened in dominating fashion. This game is being billed as a battle between the Ogwumike sisters, and that is the best place to start looking for DFS action. Nneka Ogwumike will lead the way for the Sparks in this one. She has been dominant in the absence of Parker so far. Chelsea Gray and Odyssey Sims continue to be the next two contributors for the Sparks. Essence Carson and Riquana Williams are potential value contributors.

Chiney Ogwumike had a sluggish debut to her season after returning from injury. Look to her to have an excellent game today leading the Suns against her sister and the Sparks. Alyssa Thomas is a beast and is always in play when the Suns play. Jonquel Jones is a great player, the question here is how many minutes does she get? Watch for the starting lineups to see if the Suns decide to start her, she could have a massive game. Jasmine Thomas and Courtney Williams should lead the way for the Suns at the guard position. This is a tough matchup, but they can perform in it. Alex Bentley is a potential value pick.

  • Washington Mystics @ Indiana Fever

These two faced off on Sunday with the Mystics claiming the victory in DC. Now they matchup again this time in Indiana. It should be a closer game with the Fever coming off enough rest. Elena Delle Donne will once again have to lead the way for the Mystics. Kristi Tolliver and Tierra Ruffin-Pratt will be called on to contribute as well. Finally, there’s some narrative about Myisha Hines-Allen heading back to her college stumping grounds, look to her for some potential sleeper value.

The Fever come into this well rested in the hopes of avenging the loss they suffered on Sunday. Leading the way will be Candice Dupree and Natalie Anchowa. Both have the capability of putting up monster games in this matchup. The interesting story line to watch is the dynamic between Erica Wheeler and Kelsey Mitchell. Mitchell has outplayed Wheeler so far this season, leading to Wheeler being benched during the previous game in favor of Mitchell. Do the Fever decide to start Mitchell ahead of Wheeler this game? Either way, I believe both Mitchell and Wheeler are capable of having good games and are in play.
